I am reading IT right now for the first time! I'm glad there wasn't any spoilers! And happy to know it is your number 1. Thanks for the video!!! Cheers.

I like your list because it is honest. I think people feel like they have to rank some SK books highly because they are classics. You didn’t have an obvious top 25. I think about Revival more than any other SK book I have read, so I was glad to see that one made your top 10. It is in mine too, but I still have several books to get through.

Can’t wait to dive into the Dark Tower series in particular! It and Misery are also two I need to read yesterday

While talking about a book, it helps when the rank and name of that specific book is displayed over the video...a timeline seeker is most welcome

Hey man! That was a long watch! 😂 And I enjoyed every minute of it. Can’t agree on every book placement, but I have to say it’s a fair and very knowledgeable ranking (I haven’t read them all, and some I never will). I’m appreciate you’re not apologetic on your choices, some of the rankings i’ve seen spend more time back stepping than actually speaking about the books). About the misses: Would you consider a SK book: the comic Omnibus American Vampire? It will probably be on the back end of your list. Your list made me want to reread some of them, and give Revival a chance. Thank you, and i’ll keep watching.

I've read 18 King's novels and 2 collections of his short stories. I don't know how to describe myself? Whether I am a complete fan of his novels or not yet. However, of the 18 novels I have read, "The Stand" is the worst on my list. This is not only the worst King's novel I have read so far, but generally one of the worst and most overrated novels I have ever read. I could divide "The Stand" into three parts: - the first really incredibly good 400 pages. People are dying, panic is increasing - it's great. - then 600 pages of multiplying threads, plus a bit of boring subplots - and the ending, which was undoubtedly written quickly just to end it somehow (no matter how) - which, after getting through 1000 pages of this book was a slap in the face for me as a reader. This story makes no sense at all and leads to nowhere. For me, "The Sand" is just a waste of time. However, this does not change the fact that King, next to Dan Simmons or Robert McCammon, is one of my favorite writers. I just don't have any admiration to this one specific novel. Maybe if I hadn't heard so much praise about this novel before I read it and my expectations wouldn't have been so high... Maybe. Edit: My fav King's novels so far are: Misery, Salem's Lot, Pet Semetary, Needful Things, It, Bag of bones... The order doesn't matter. Everything else is quite OK, Tommyknockers - as an ida for the stroy is good, but I had a lot of issues to finish this one. I put it aside and had a hard time coming back to it to finish it. The same as The Stand :)

I agree with you that the ending of the Tower series was just what was needed. I liked it.

I agree. I think we all have a book in our own top 10 list that would surprise everyone. My #2 is Black House. A lot of people don’t like it and I don’t get it. It has some of Kings best characters and such a great villain. King and Straub worked so well together. I put Insomnia in my top 10 as well. Such a great read.

i did not enjoy the writing style at all. and the villain was good, until the final showdown was less than half a page. so anticlimactic.

Looks like you spent a lot of time on this. Good job You have ghost brothers ranked on here. And you talk about it as a “book”. As far as I understand it was just released as an album to go along with the play that was performed (which I saw btw and Bruce greenwood was great in it) but you make multiple references to it as a book so I’m wondering exactly what that means

Hi, thanks for the comment. It is (or was) also published as a book in 2013. The one I have has two CDs and a DVD, as well as the play, which comes out to over 100 pages in the book. Obviously, it’s a musical, so a lot of it is that, but there is also quite a bit of dialogue and of course stage direction . It’s available on Amazon (and other places), but it does look like ts out of print.

Damn. I only have the cd with music and some spoken sections. I have no doubts it doesnt read well. It was really good to see on stage though the music, band were great, story is so-so, nothing original. Maybe i like it more because ive played in bands and acted in plays

Great video. I HATE the ending of The Long Walk so much!! Such a great book otherwise but the ending knocks it way down for me.

I dunno, as for opening lines… I stopped reading King in 95 at age 16… and some of those lines just randomly stick forever (e.g. injun bring my fish); for me it’s “Jack Torrance thought: “Officious little prick.” 😂

Characters can be good and bad, that’s what makes a story. Pet Semetary is great, especially the ending

Also you may want to add a spoiler warning for the Stand. The fact you mention that Glen and Frannie make a decision at the end of the book may spoil the part "and they never heard from Glen again".
@mamba22426 ай бұрын
It wouldn’t spoil it as blatantly as you typing out that line in the comments section 😂
