i actually kinda went through a mini childhood trauma arc with Wii Bowser's Castle. So for whatever reason little me was terrified of evil laughs and the Bowser laugh at the already unnerving wavy hallway scared the everloving shit out of me as a kid. It was so bad whenever i played the track i would have the TV on mute obviously i'm way over it now and it remains one of my favorite tracks ever

It's a good one but not my favorite, my favorite has to be the Super Circuit ranking, it's what got me into Super Circuit and back into Mario Kart as a whole.

For the DS version, I really like the first half. Great turns, the spiral up to the spinny thing is awesome and thin enough to be dangerous. And let me tell you, as a top 100 MKDS player in the world (well at least of those, who did a 32 race speedrun), the fire at the shortcut is honestly the hazard I've been hit the most by in the time playing this game.

One thing I love about n64 bowsers castle is how the number of thwomps changes at the end of the second corridor based on the cc, only one thwomp in 50cc vs three in 150cc, such a neat difficulty change

Hey Musty, awesome to see my comment highlighted in your video!!! Big fan!!! To add to my comment on 7’s Bowser’s Castle being abandoned, there’s even webs you can see on the ceiling after the split path at the beginning, further adding to the idea that this particular castle has been completely abandoned and fallen into disrepair. Tour plays with this idea in a different way, it modernizes the track in color and tidiness, it looks like bowser decided to check in on it and decided to redecorate/fix it up a bit. Examples: The above mentioned spider webs are gone, some of the track has its ramps missing, and the final turn where the mountain was has been demolished into a rocky bridge turn instead. Btw, if you’re reading this comment before next Tuesday, Piranha Plant Pipeline is playable in Tour rn, so assuming you haven’t, this is your final few days of chances to do so!

Fantastic Video as always Musty. One thing I love about these Sir Musty ranking videos is that you give very detailed analysis/explanation behind your positive and negative takes about what ever the topic of the video is (in this case the BC tracks). A lot of genuine thought went into the ranking beyond surface thoughts, and it always leads me to come out with a new perspective that I may not have thought/seen before (whether I agree or disagree with said takes depends on what it is). Great explanation/analysis on top of great humour and solid editing, really enjoyed this one. Keep on going, you are doing great. (Good thing this was a strictly a Bowser Castle ranking instead of a Bowser track ranking, otherwise Neo Bowser City would have buried every BC track 100m under.)

Finally some N64 BC love. It's honestly my favorite, next to MK8's. A bit of nostalgia is the reason, but like you said I do like the Thwomp placements, and also the tight corridors and sharp corners. It's also the most atmospheric imo which is why I love it so much.

N64 bowsers castle is my favourite but I personally prefer the wii version and wiis lighting cup is one of my favourites. Ok SNES Mario circuit 3 is very mid but that’s ok when you get to DS peach gardens a “calm before the storm” type of track then GCN DK mountain which shouts final stretch then you go from a difficult but extremely fun jungle to then the pits of N64 Bowser castle. It’s dark in the middle of nowhere surrounded by lava, music is creepy but I weirdly find it catchy it’s off guard to me after having the peaceful peach gardens theme 2 tracks ago, it feel’s empty at first but then thwomps are everywhere in the castle, I love the part where the 2 follow you and get ready to ruin your day, you barely get passed them just for 3 more to show up so you got to react fast, grab an item while you can from the empty hallway before seeing 2 more thwomps going back and forth blocking your path before turning left to a bridge over lava even if it’s only a bit of lava “why is it there?” Then you fall down the stairs into a garden that not much is happening but it’s eerie on how normal the garden is in the middle of nowhere because just as you turn right you see the ocean of lava for 2 seconds but a freaky 2 seconds, then you do a long turn up a spiral similar to airship fortress, before making a big jump and then 2 small jumps as it loops back to the beginner but on lap 2 and 3 lava geysers will shoot up on either the left or right so you have plenty of time to make a choice to go left or right and it’s a intense photo finisher especially on the last lap. And that’s why the wii version of N64 Bowser castle is my favourite!!

I’m a sucker for the Bowser Castle archetype in Mario Kart, so more often than not, my favorite track in the game will be a Bowser Castle. Hell, Wii’s Bowser Castle is my favorite track in the series. It’s difficult with the turns and loads of hazards, it’s ominous and kinda bizarre, it’s always a blast to play. That being said, I also do love the N64 one (og and Wiimake), the GBA 3 and 4, (also og and Wiimake), the DS one is unique, the GC one is pretty cool, and the SNES one in MK8 was amazing

I forget if it was in your server or somewhere else but I remember one time seeing someone act like I'm the biggest fan ever of DS BC2 as if I didn't put it at the bottom of B-Tier, so I guess that means I have to get up in arms over its low ranking. WE LOVE LOWSER, DON'T... WE... CHAT!? Liked this vid a lot, wasn't expecting SNES BC2 to be as high as it was in C tier and I hinestly think it could be a good surprise retro for MKX. Netherless, SNES BC3 remake is the ultimate GOAT with MK8 BC close behind. And I honestly have such biased DS BC love it's unreal but I can see why itndoesn't stack up. The rotating spinner and metal carousel thing are the only major highlights aside from the oppressing skybox 😅 Great video again Musty, happy to now be a member of the KZbin Musquire Empire

I think the thing about the 8 dlc remake of SNES Bowser Castle 3 that makes it SO much better is that it's exactly what all retro tracks SHOULD be. They took the skeleton and theme of the original track and made it into something new - something so much better - using the new game's features and mechanics, as well as the updated graphics and visuals. When I first played it I was absolutely AWESTRUCK.

I have no opinion on 90% of these tracks But the two I have played are right at the top so the list is perfect Another Sir Musty W Although I personally prefer Wii U Bowser Castle over the SNES BC 3 remake because of how bombastic it is and how much variety it has in what you traverse and also in it’s obstacles It has fire bars, a giant swinging mace, big mecha bowser punching down on you, the rolling stones and even fucking LASERS?? Also the bowser statue pointing the way is really funny to me

Only issue I have with the original N64 BC is that in the off chance you're hit by lightning, it is quite literally impossible to make one of the jumps without a mushroom. It ends up being another Kalimari Desert train situation where a person that's further back is only punished more with an insurmountable obstacle. It's a rare occurrence, so I don't think it would affect the ranking. I just thought I should point it out since you're more keen on design analysis than most other KZbinrs I've seen. Awesome video as always btw. The editing and gags really got me a few times.

It would have been insanely cool to see GBA BC4 in the booster's pass and given a glowup similar to SNES BC3, similarly to how there were two Rainbow Roads. It would have been cool and possibly just as good as BCP BC3.

My favourite is the GCN one, followed by DS, BC3 (GBA), N64 (Wii version), BC2 (DS), BC3 (BCP), and the Wii one.

I am bowser castle 8's biggest defender and think its the best course in the game (yes, above the rainbow road duo) time to see if i agree with this list, i will take an a tier I WILL HAPPILY TAKE TOP 3.

I enjoy thw video. Also I can see why Neo Bowset City is not in the tier list for 2 reasons 1. Is not a Bowser Castle Track so it can't be in the list. 2. It would be easy #1 since Neo Bowser City will easily solo every single Bowser Castles Track. So it can't be in the Tier luist.Since we both know it the pure goat and beat out all of the Bowser Castle Tracks.

Ive always had a theory with the prisoned thwomp in n64 bowsers castle And is that, what if the castle was Made specifically to emprison that thwomp? Your in the middle of a pitch black bsckground, infinite lava por and the castle seems abandoned, what if it was Made to specifically have that thwomp in a place where he's not able to do whatever he did gor bowser to punish him again?

I remember the DS Andys being RAMPANT for DS Bowser Castle. I appreciate the dedication but we all know the Spinamajig carries so hard it needs a chiropractor. Also, never noticed how hard it is to reference a BC *insert number here* remake. SNES BC3 MK8DX is the goat but damn is it a mouthful.

I shit you not, I was in the middle of writing a comment about this exact thing when this happened when I heard this 5:01 GBA BC1 I forgot was even in 7, and BC2 is awful in DS (if you get shocked with lightning NONE of the boost ramps are useable, how tf did this get past playtesting?!?)

I think if GBA Bowser Castle 4 was in the BCP instead of GBA Sunset Wilds, you'd have GBA BC4 high on this list. It's a really nice remake, and it's devastating that it didn't make it to the Pass when more garbage GBA remakes from Tour like Sky Garden and Sunset Wilds did.
