Oh, I LOVE the Polypodioides and have been wanting one for several years, but they were always so difficult to find and also super expensive, at least in Europe (Sweden) where I live. Someting must have happened in the last couple of months though cause now I see them everywhere and they are so affordable. Bought mine about a month ago and payed $60 - a year ago a small plant went for like $200 aprox.

I love Philodendron as well,was my first plant... years ago. My parents received her as an engagement gift, sweetheart Philo. She is over 40 years old now. My favorite is my Red Anderson 😍. I have tried PPP, several times and they had awful genetics and reverted. I received my Red Anderson in January 2023 for my birthday.Not a great time for shipping in central NY. It was sent from my bestie in Arkansas from an Etsy seller. I don't know the name of the seller. I have never received a more stunning shipped plant. She wasn't a baby. She came potted with 4 inch leaves and a couple of aerial roots grown into the soil.😱😱Her stem was/ is like a burgundy and pink candy cane. She is a very happy plant,pushes out leaf after leaf. I almost feel badly as she never rests. Variegation is wonderful, she is marbled with bright pink sections that age to minty or white. She is my favorite 😍. The local greenhouse manager has wanted a cutting since I first received her. I can't cut her, she never takes a break from new leafing for me to feel okay about it. I love your videos 🤩😍💖!!!! Oh and yes, DIY pest spray killed thrips, mealies and spider mites🎉🎉!!! Sorry for the sea scroll comment😞. My local plant bestie had a HUGE outbreak,two years ago. It had come about a month after a devastating loss of a family member 😢. She called me bawling, she isn't an emotional person to cry often. She lives in an older home with exposed indoor brick and radiators,owned by the builder of new townhomes next door. It was early Fall,like now. I arrived to her hauling plants outside and throw rugs and pots and baskets... crying and swearing. I began bringing the baskets to the dumpster nextdoor. I met a wonderful Russian lady who asked if she could have them. I explained the situation. She asked if she could see. I brought her over. She hugged my friend and said she would be right back. She returned with 2 one gallon sprayers full of pest spray and began examining the plants. She came into the plant room and saw pests on the brick and spider mites and webs in the radiators. She took charge and told us to empty the room to clean and bring plants outside. We made fast work of it. She was treating the plants and needed to refill. I went with her. 😱 Her home was loaded with gorgeous plants🥰. Before she started to mix more, she brought KZbin up on her desktop. Liquid dirt pest spray was the recipe that she used. All plants were treated, no one got tossed out 🥰. I went the next Saturday to help again. It worked perfectly, beyond words. 🎉🎉. Have a wonderful weekend.💞

I finally bought a bag of Molly’s Aroid Mix. I repotted a few Philodendrons and a few Hoyas in it. I’m very excited to see how the plants grow in it 💚
@brenfays3255Ай бұрын
Fern is right. I use it, repotted a cebu blue that wasnt growing, just yellowing, in Mollys and my cat knocked it off the table onto the floor. When I picked it up, I saw the roots had gone from very small to at least 6 times larger in a matter of 2 weeks (so the soil it was originally in was the problem). Amazing rebound! I also repotted a baby Thai with 2 leaves in Mollys. It took a while for it to grow roots since it had almost none ( put in a 4 1 2 inch slotted pot from a 2 inch pot). Now it has roots coming out the bottom holes and is putting out leaf after healthy, larger leaf. Wouldnt use anything else!

Oh yay! Happy to see the Silver Sword on your list. It was my first rare plant, although it was on the decline in popularity by the time I got mine. It got some root rot the year after I got it, so I cut it up. Then the base put back out! The top cut has sized up to mature leaves, but the rest haven’t. I know it likes bright light and a stake. I extended the long piece of rough wood that it came on, but it has finally outgrown that. I should probably pot it up again and give it a coir pole.

hey! it's a few ikea vittsjo units pushed together. and for moss poles I have plastic cups in the top with a few tiny holes poked in. I fill up the cups every couple of days and it waters them :) sometimes the water goes into the pot but I've never had any issues with it rotting the plant.

@Spngbob100Ай бұрын
IDK if it would deal with thrips (hopefully lol). Someone told me that for thrips you need to use something systemic cuz they lay eggs under the skin of the leaf (I didn't verify so if anyone knows please comment). Just not to take the plant outside cuz that can spread the systemic pesticide or something? IDK, I've gotten rid of thrips before with just a basic insecticidal soap but I could've been lucky to get them before they laid anything.
