Connors been underrated for so long. Takes balls to center a game around a quiet, introverted. Especially coming off a fan favourite character like ezio. Imo we get to see him grow more than almost anyone. We see how his parent met, and see him grow from a powerless native to the man who kills the Templar elites. He’s top 5 for me.

Absolutely... A man, dedicated for his wife, growing old together. And then one naive man, out of rage and revenge of his father's death, without knowing the truth killed Altair's wife. And even forgiving him, respected his dead body. He became so wise with that. Just like Arno, developed so much, Altair is legendary. Heck he even carried his mentor's body on his arm, who chose to kill Altair. I love him for his maturity.

To be very honest, yes I loved Bayek as a father. But he's not wise. Throughout the game, he didn't say it's him who killed his son. Idk out of shame or whatever. As a father he's great, but as a husband, idk. I truly don't understand their relationship, bcoz whenever they meet, they either make love or talk about revenge, no emotional connection between them. So, I don't feel so much great as a character, but yes, as a father, hats off to the man and his pain.

What we need is a sequel that features Arno and Shay (maybe even Connor too). It would not only give those characters more development, who clearly need it, but also a confrontation between Arno and the man who killed his father is, in my opinion, bound to happen.

a game with all 3 would be fucking legindary, all 3 dont have their endings elaborated on, all 3 have a place to go foraward, and all 3 can have a chemistry with one another that would be just amazing to see, it could give shey a chance to see connor's new rebirth of the "good" assassins and turn back to rebuild them (since we know connor ain't about that shit), it could give arno the clouser of either forgiving or killing shey (which could also give shey a good redemtion arc) and we could see two master assassins, connor and arno, who are the best at their personal fields (connor at straight up brawling and arno at enginuity and using his tools and skills creatively). A tag team with arno and connor might honestly be the most horrifying thing a templar could ever dream of. Even with all of that they are probubly the three most underappreciated and missunderstood protagonists in the entire series and it would give them the spotlight they deserve, if they could find a way to balance all 3 as playable characters, kinda like how syndacit does with their 2, it might just be one of if not the best assassins creed game to come out

Arnos story really got to me and had me invested. The nature of his dads death and trying to reconnect with his girl. I I just totally wasn’t ready for that first playing it. Im still emotionally invested playing it second time. tho AC 3’s protagonist story sounds pretty dramatic and emotional too. Good list, I agree. There have been some great games.

One of the principle reason for Ezio's popularity, in my humble opinion, is the fact that his character and his story was so well-developed and fleshed out over three games worth of time. Each of the other protagonists could have been better, and would enjoy the same popularity, if their character had been as carefully and fully developed and their backstory was experienced over time, rather than so chopped and shortened so it would fit in the time span of one game. So much more could have been done with Altaïr, for instance, and his character development would have been better served if his story had had the time to grow that Ezio's did, rather than trying to explain Altaïr through mentions and cameos inside the lives of other characters in later games.

Bayek easily takes number 1 for me. He is by far the only assassin I would want to see receive a sequel. When I played Bayek, I could see the passion that the writers and the voice actor put into his game. His character also expertly complemented the setting of the game.

Not to be a jerk but Batman is not a bratty arrogant know it all... it just seams that Conner never learns from his mistakes .. I think if they would have taken it slower and given him a little more time to develop Maybe a second game and I little better story writing then I would have liked him a bit more .. the homestead mission are by far by favorite part of the game it where in my opinion you’ll see the most character development you can just tell in the homestead missions how much he love and wants to kept his little coummuntiy safe and keep in mind I 100 % this game besides the stupid board game what is it nine mans Morris .. I think anyway would have loved to play another Conner game Maybe one that starts off with the modern day templers finding his body just like it talks about in ac black flag and they wound up just following his adventures through Paris maybe .. I think shay is severely underrated. I dont really understand a lot of the criticism for him. He took the book thing and left because he knew the assassins would use it again, and he saw it wipe out an entire city (for which he blames himself) While his turn to templar was a little too sudden, I dont think it was out of nowhere. He made templar friends, met a templars family, and saw that the templars current goals were the same as his own. And its not like he killed his old mentors without remorse. They either took something from him first, did something horrible, or treated their fight like it was a game. And even THEN there was dialouge on the ship of him being upset at the losses.

Shay didnt turn on the assassins..assassins turn on shay. After lisbon when he confront achillis nobody listens to him none of the assassins even thinks that shay may be right.. And achillis catches him trying to steal the manuscript achillis was the one who attacked first.

@@masterassassin791 tbf Achilles didn’t even give an explanation, as soon as shay gets mad at him and questions him Achilles doesn’t even admit he’s wrong and pretty much instigates things and jumps to the conclusion that shay is a traitor for taking the manuscript instead of talking about it and sends the other assassins to kill him. I will admit shay was a bit aggressive in his confrontation but keep in mind he just accidentally destroyed an entire city and killed thousands, ofc he would be mad. If Achilles actually listened to him then they could have talked about it and stopped their search for the sites. The colonial brotherhood in general was horrible and unreasonable and treated shah harshly and didn’t get any better until Connor rebuilt it. The assassins in the colonial brotherhood didn’t even care about killing thousands as long as the templars didn’t get to them which breaks their own tenets of the creed. Shay was the only true assassin at the time even if he was a Templar, I’m sure ezio would have made the same decision. The templars in the colonial games were right the entire time(especially haytham and shay). Ac rogue showed that their are as many good templars as there are bad assassins and both have their problems and allowed us to see both sides and form our own opinion on them. Shay is easily the most underrated character in the series.

I think what really helped with ezio’s story as well as altair’s, was the dive into his thoughts, his mind in the books, Renaissance, Brotherhood and Revelations are all fantastic books and really convey this amazing character that won’t be topped unless Bayek gets a GOOD Sequel, The secret crusade also dives into Altair and really gives him a strong personality and it puts a smile on my face on how the book and the games compliment one another.

I think your wrong about shay, when shay came back from Lisbon he was telling them that a city was destroyed. Instead of trying to call him down and let him explain more of what happened, they kicked him out of the room. Also they shot him in his back and they tried to kill him with motors. Also some of them dont really like shay (Hope, and that one french assassin that punched him in his face at the begging of the game)

Shay didn't handle things well either. He was often disrespectful and when he came back from Lisbon, he accused Achilles of intentionally destroying it. To me, he sounded like he was deflecting blame onto someone else and his attitude towards it made it hard to think he was actually trying to warn them about the dangers of the precursor sites.

My faves are Eivor, Altair and Edward, also correction I believe the whole shay turn wasn't rushed I feel he had a good reason but the fact is he didn't intend to defect to the templars till he was saved, the assassin's betrayed Shay without hearing him out they kick him out of the mansion then proceed to chase him and even when he tries to commit they shoot him in the back, to me he had a very good reason to hunt his old teachers because they betrayed him not the other way around

In my opinion top 5 would be: 1•Bayek 2•Ezio 3•Edward 4•Arno 5•Altair Why is Bayek number 1? I just feel like his character is much kore flushed out compared to the others, ( I haven't gotten the chance to play Ac1 and the Ezio Trilogy though ) Which is probably why I've listed the two this way, but seeing as to how Ezio had three games to develop his character he def is in top 3. Anyways, back to why Bayek is the top of the list. Sure people may say he's fueled by revenge like most other characters but that isn't just Bayek. It's the combination of his rage and his passionate side that makes him such a good and compelling character to watch and play with. You get tons of side quests that also help build his character and you'll see that Bayek is actually quite funny despite his situation. It's his humanity that shines through his rage, how he feels just like any other person whose suffered a loss so great but has the abilities to do something about. That whenever he sees children he becomes a father, there are so many encounters with children in the game it actually heartwarming to watch play out. And the relationship and the eventual falling out of Aya and Bayeks love is something most people can relate to. It just makes him more lovable and relatable as a character, I can't say more cause there isn't enough space to write what makes him such a great protagonist.

You know for me Jakob will ever me my favourite cause he has that special thing that the other assassins didn’t have like I know his jokes were not good but I think ubisofts intention was it to create a character without a big backstory, without a killed family member that they want revenge for. In my opinion they just wanted to create a character that makes bad jokes to make the players laugh. I mean I really enjoyed his jokes and laughed about his Charakter very often. So idk maybe there will be people that will hate this comment but I will state my opinion. Ah and also a really great video of your side 🔥. Assassins Creed 1 was not only the first AC game I played, but was also one of the first games I ever played full stop, as a kid. I didn't get very far in the story on the first few runs being I was like seven and I couldn't figure out how to get to a few places. But I will always remember jumping from rooftop to rooftop, saving civilians from asshole soldiers in those sick white robes. Altair will always be my favourite, followed by Edward as AC4 is one of the first games that got me truly hooked with exploring an open world in games, among with many more reasons.

my personal ranking, i have actually been replaying all the games cause I finally bought them all on pc. 1. Ezio Despite 1 being my introduction to the series I was too young to understand any of it. But 2 was where i was really introduced to the franchise and as I have continued to mature more and more of ezio resonates with me on a personal level, Specifically revelations which ending still makes me tear up 2. Altiar As previously stated I didn't like Altiar at first, I thought he was a stick in the mud and a jerk. But now I realize out of all of them he experienced the most character growth as a whole. And while the first game is pretty dated Altiar is probably the most important protagonist, despite not being my favorite. 3.Edward At first I really didnt like ac4, because it was the first game in the series where the protagonist didnt feel like a true assassin (a complaint that will come up later) but like altiar the story is about his growth as a character and that is boldened by his initial greedy attitude and his desire to right his wrongs 4, Shay , Again, didnt really like shay, that was before I played the game though because he gets the "starkiller" treatment in the fandom where they think hes alot stronger than he really is. That being said rogue presented alot of things I already disliked about the order, and gave more background information on the colonial rite of templars 5. Arno I REALLY disliked unity, I hate mltiplayer and didnt even finish it the first time I played it, having finally finished it Arno was a bit to snarky for me, not tastfully done like Ezio. But he emotionally resonated with me and the only reason he isnt higher on the list is because I ultimately agreed with Bellec over Arno. 6. Connor Another one i disliked alot, I thought he had alot of the same problems altiar did, but he has the opposite effect arno has, hes to bland. Athough I did notice instead of being humorous hes a very caring man and it shows in his actions specifically the homestead missions 7. Bayek my problems with Bayek are more to do with origin as a whole, I dont like the direction they took with the series, starting the whole "witcher clone" thing, and bayek really sat backseat to the brotherhoods founding to Aya, when she should have just been the protagonist 8. Evie I REALLY dislike the frye twins, granted ive never finished syndicate. But evie feels more like a traditional assassins creed protagonist 9.Jacob far too snarky for me, has the same problems as arno x 10. Again ive never finished it (its actually the game im playing through right now) 10. Alexios while odyssey is a great game, it shouldnt be an assassins creed game, and that problem is exemplified by alexios himself

The best ending part in AC is black flag Anne Bonny sing sweet song while Edward remembering the happy moments with his late comrades and goes to europe to start a peaceful life.

I miss playing these games, it was just too much getting a new one every single year and I honestly hated that they dropped the Desmond storyline. I played every game until Syndicate. My favorite game was Black Flag.

Maybe a bit late to the party here but can we just add 2 things to this context of Altair en Ezio? - Altair The 3rd book of Assassins Creed is about Atlair. Even better, it is a biography that Altair let Nicolo Polo write while he was telling his life's story. I always felt I was missing a lot of depth of Altair in the game itself. even though I do agree with your statement that the start and finish of the game felt like 2 different characters. - Ezio I don't know if taking into account but here as well the books support the game fantastically. It gives a bit more nuance to some story elements as it fills in some blank spots. Also the short movie that they created for the bridge to AC Chronicles China was fantastic. Seeing Ezio die peacefully at old age and know he had a daughter just brought me to tears when I first saw it.

I feel like everyone needs to replay rogue. Shay does care and didn't like killing his friends (especially hope), and when Liam died he knelt beside and pulled liams hood up to give him the respect and death he deserved. shays change wasn't exactly super quick either. shay learned about what happened in Haiti with the artefact and wasn't happy to go to Lisbon and try it again, it happened and then he ran and watched thousands of innocents die due to his mentors insistence he go to Lisbon and that shay listened despite his better judgement. then he returns and confronts achilles and tells him about it but the assassins disregard his anger and argument and just disrespected him. it was never shays intention to join the templars either, he just wanted to run off and hide with the manuscript, but then was shot by assassins and rescued by the parents of a dead templar who then told Colonel Monro about the incident and then he was in a way dragged into the templars by stumbling straight into the middle of their plans. sorry for long comment but shay doesn't get much credit and I think he should receive a little more.

Arno is better than Ezio, and here me out: he's not perfect. He's like us. He's awkward, can be charming, he makes mistakes, people hurt him, he hurts people, he makes regretful decisions, he's not popular with the ladies, and he follows his heart.

Yes, someone else who thinks ACIII is underrated! ACIII is my personal favourite game and it is the first of the AC games which really makes many people question whether the Templars are right.

Looking back at it nowadays there are a lot that AC III at least has which make me respect it more nowadays. But a good game i will never call it. The writing, modern day and Connor, as well as gameplay/open world is just not it.

P.S there technically are spin-offs and Liberation but I don't even count them. P.S Part 2 Connor would have been 5 or even 4 with the ending monologue not cut out, good lord, ubisoft why?

One thing that I think it make Edward different is his game is more about him not apple of Eden, the creed but on his journey to become a better person, we didn't see him as assassin until a very end in the game but we see what's he going through before become one so that's why he's so special to me, he have one of the best character development i've ever seen in any media. True he's not my favorite character EVER but i really like his story go, and i also like Arnold in Dead king DLC.

Altair is my favorite protagonist (Bayek in a close second), but the first game does not make him justice, on the game it really looks like he has little to no personality. But when you read the book, it shows how deep and well writen the character is. Just like Haytham Kenway (that for me is the best Assassin's Creed character overall)
