@washingtoncommandcenter55412 жыл бұрын
Brandon Smith's bench reps at his Pro Day actually dropped his RAS to just below Troy Anderson, the Perfect Ten, and Leo Chenal's 9.99, but I still agree that he is the most athletic LB possibly ever lol regardless of the testing, dude was playing out of the slot at 250lbs last year CRAZY.

Any love for Micah McFadden?
@washingtoncommandcenter55412 жыл бұрын
With Ron Rivera wanting Washington to play Nickel as its base formation, what do you think about Jalen Pitre as an every-down Nickel/Star? Also, since Jamin Davis will be moving to WLB(except on the strong side, you know how Nickel works) where we can take advantage of his speed, and range to run and chase, along with his coverage ability. In that situation, in a base Nickel defense, with Mike's roles being different than in a conventional 4-3, with way less emphasis on coverage, to my understanding being more like a 3-4 Mike. More of a run stopper, blitzer, and downhill thumper in general. The guy that's taking on the blocks keeping the Will clean to be able to roam freely. If I've got that basic idea of the Nickel Mike's role right, what do you think of Leo Chenal as the Commander's Mike? I think Chenal is a truly elite prospect with the athleticism to eventually be a perfectly rounded LB, but as of right now he's a special player with penetration, power, and explosiveness rivaling Parsons that could be the perfect fit for what we are looking to do defensively. I would give a kidney if my Commanders could work a trade back from 11 with GB or KC for their 2 late 1sts along with our 47th to add, Jalen Pitre to play the Nickel, Leo Chenal to play the Mike and Daxton Hill to play FS. I think there are other FS prospects available later like Nick Cross that has elite potential in a more traditional single high rangey role so Hill isn't as desperate a fit/need as Pitre and Chenal, but the amazing things that could be done from rotating and disguising coverages with Kendall Fuller at CB2 that has slot and safety flexibility, along with Kamren Curls at SS, Pitre at Nickel and Hill at FS who all do at a very high level as well. That would be a secondary group along with William Jackson III that could make the QB wrong pre-snap, every time.and wouldn't have the time to figure it out post-snap because of our Murderers' Row D-line who would be massively helped by not having pressure beating check-downs rob them of their production seemingly every time they were close to getting home. Factor in Jamin playing sideline to sideline and in coverage where he showed in college he could even stick with aliens like Kyle Pitts, while Chenal could stamp out the run and almost guarantee pressure, blitzing of Payne or Allen's shoulder or taking on linemen so they can wreak havoc. The idea of trading back for something like that excites me way more than staying put at 11 and taking a WR2 or 3 which is a horrible use of resources IMO, or even taking Kyle Hamilton if he's there who isn't as good a fit.. Sorry for the novel, but if you read this, do I have the Nickel Mike concept right and how do you think those players fit what we are looking to do defensively in Washington?
@washingtoncommandcenter55412 жыл бұрын
I like Domman as a Nickel if we miss out on Pitre nowhere near the quality but a guy that could plug right into Landon Collins's role from last year and IMO provide a boost all-around, but definitely in coverage. I think Kadofi Wright is massively slept on as a WLB/ coverage guy and Diego Fagot in that Sanborn or downhill type role you were talking about, I can't believe you didn't have the Shrine Bowl Defensive MVP on here at all. Curtis Brooks was to me while watching Brandon Smith tape what Sanborn was to you with Chenal's. I started cracking into the Penn state tape for some exciting Brandon Smith games and it just seemed like Brooks was always the guy making the tackles, he's in that Rodriguez/Dean/ Asamoah size frame too. Another guy I was shocked to see you leave out, while including Sewell was Darian Butler who I thought was a lot of fun to watch also. If you can't tell I'm a Washington fan and this might sound crazy, and coming from a Washington fan this is incredibly high praise but the guy reminds me soooo much of London Fletcher, not just from a size standpoint, but the way he covers, the way he tackles in the open field, just about everything reminded me a Fletcher, I even went back and rewatched some old Fletcher Highlights just to make sure I was crazy and just getting stuck on the physical similarities. Terrell Bernard is another undersized FOOTBALL PLAYER.

Man, the Bears need an obvious Mike linebacker. They made a lot of signings but I'm not sure on any of them. Problem is we got a bit spoiled with Urlacher. Dude was a beast that overcame the position and still excelled in a defense that kind of left his position as second to the Will. Now, I don't see this as as big of a NEED as the 3-technique is but they do need a strong presence at Mike. I hate rebuilding. Too many needs. Need somebody to step up on the OL, at TE, at WR, at the 3-technique, Mike, CB, maybe the DE position if they trade Quinn (dear lord not Mack and Quinn in the same year, I couldn't handle it), and even punter. It would be nice to have a stud at Mike. Chicago always loves a great Mike linebacker.

I think Malcolm Rodriguez has easy tier 2 tape. He's small, but he's extremely powerful, takes on blocks well, and has excellent instincts. Plus, he ran 4.5 and had a very strong Pro Day. I get the upside on Troy Andersen -- barely played LB and ridiculous movement backed by testing - but I just do not see it on tape. Splash plays, but gets dominated in the run game far too often, and while I respect the opinions others have voiced, the instincts are lacking IMO. That said, he could become a star. I just think Rodriguez is a more athletic Chris Borland, and I fully expect him to start this year.

@@loganmapes2307 Well I think Edge and dline are still glaring needs, i think for edge and safety there might be more of a possibility to sign a vet to a 1 year deal

@@memememe908 i dont disagree, but we have two firsts next year too and since we did bring fletch back and signed reddick, they aren't as critical of a need for this year. I do acknowledged it will be a need in the future as the d line with graham and fletch is getting old, but i think there are more immediate needs for this year and since we do have those guys under contract for this one more year we can afford to push that priority into next years draft where we will still have two firsts.

I genuinely think Troy Anderson will be the best lb in this class

He’s in the top 3 of linebackers ever athletically tested. 10 out of 10 athletic score just like Jordan Davis and Travon Walker to top fifteen picks

Is Georgia RB U and LB U now? I know Alabama could be considered RB U also tho
