No dude. I died to fsther5 Gascoigne only once. But I did Cleric Beast first. Lawrence first try as well. Ludwig 5/6 tries and Orphan of Kos definitely took more than ant other boss. Lady Maria was insanely easy to learn except for second phase which threw me off. Gehrman wasn't hard either but that's because I went to him after DLC. So List is very subjective but consensus of Majority is that Orphan is definitely the hardest. I would place Ludwig above or equal to Lawrence and Lady Maria to follow.

Laurence is a fucking beast and absolutely deserves his place on the list. He has SO FEW opportunities to safely deal damage to him and on ng+ he hits like a freight train. Even at 50 vit he can do 80% of your health or straight up one shot you from full if he gets counter damage on you. Which happens all the fucking time bc his slams all have sizable AOE fire blast. There are some moves you can safely dodge through for a damage window. But he has a habit of baiting you with single attacks only to tack on additional hits when you decide to commit to an attack. Also limb breaking him barely increases damage to him, which sucks bc his health pool is massive
@Ophiocordyses4 ай бұрын
Laurence Is a cleric Beast and in his 2 phase he's on the ground turning around like an idiot, i think it's an easy boss, with few moves, the only difficulty Is the fight zone, for the rest is not even comparabile to the orphan of Kos ..

I'm pretty bad at this game but I still only needed 5-6 tries for Laurence. Get on his back left and you massively cut down the amount of moves he can do. Then in phase 2 you just sit on his left and he can barely put any pressure on you.
@samsonweiser7504 Жыл бұрын
I finally decided to do all the story chalices, and they're actually a lot more fun that I thought. Later ones have really scaled up enemies that hit like it's NG+, and there's a bunch of chalice dungeon unique enemies and situations the game puts you in that are fun. Plus there's this one chalice that nerfs your health massively that makes it so you have to do it super safe, and the bosses get a bit recontextualized in them even though it a lot are from the base game. Coming off just finishing all bosses NG+6 (the max) with only DLC winter lantern bloodgems I though all the chalices where going to be a cakewalk, and I was wrong. NG+6 was a blast too. You have to do the DLC bosses nearly hitless, but not completely and you can't just one combo everything even with beast blood pellets. But because you don't have to be perfectly hitless, and you get a lot more stamina vs say BL4 you can approach the fights just a tad more aggressively. It's less stressful than hitless or BL4 I would think too. I haven't done BL4 or hitless so I'm not totally sure, and I don't think I'd even try hitless NG+6 was rough enough. I'll probably do BL4 at some point though. That sounds pretty fun.

Good video. I enjoyed my time watching. The small lore bits made it even more entertaining. Personally I would rank quite a few bosses differently but I am also not challenge running the game which does change the perspective a lot. Anyway I can agree with your placements and reasoning for it. Good job
@SirVyre Жыл бұрын
For me, looking at the game outside of challenge running as a perspective, as I believe each challenge run would have its own tier list because challenge run failure states are independent of game failure states, this my list of bosses easiest to hardest. Edit: I think I forgot to write in Darkbeast Paarl! Well there goes my opinions lol. XXII: Witch of Hemwick - relative to player development she is more or less a regular enemy, that is cloaked, and you can eliminate all of her adds by entering the boss fight with 0 insight. XXI: Father Gascoigne - As mentioned in my other comment, the game gives you the music box, which cripples him so thoroughly, that it's barely even a boss. His beastform is also hyper weak to fire. He can also be visceral exploited through the stair rail into falling through the map (though he's already so easy I don't know why people came up with this). XX: Celestial Emissary - Relative to player development, this is an insanely easy boss. It's just a few adds and a big mode of a regular enemy again. It's not impossible to lose to, but loss would be very rare. XIX: Bloodstarved Beast - He's more or less a lesson in not facing beasts head on. As long as you're familiar with the sidestep/forward step behind motions you can do when locked on, you can negate almost his entire moveset with sidestepping past him. On top of that, he's super weak to fire, and you can pick up the flamesprayer and kill him with it alone. He's also easy to bait with pungent blood cocktails. The area leading up to him also gives some antidotes to deal with his poison aura. XVIII: Amygdala - The first boss that comes to mind when I think of gun builds. A +3 Repeating Pistol with base stats to wield and bone marrow ash can kill it with the exactly amount of bullets/ash you can carry, without you even going in to visceral it, which, why wouldn't you? XVII: Cleric Beast - I only rate this one as harder than the last, due to the player's development/progress versus access to him. It is actually completely possible to encounter the Cleric Beast without any weapons, even on a first playthrough, if you just run past all of the enemies and excel at dodging. Killing him with your barehands and barely any resources is like an endgame level challenge. Even entering the dream or picking up the saw spear doesn't deal with his moveset for you, and if you're intent on fighting him without a gun, then it's pretty hard to trigger his visceral stagger, though it can be done with knives and pebbles you may have collected throughout early Yharnam. XVI: Mergo's Wet Nurse - This boss would have been a lot more challenging if you'd encountered it sooner or in a smaller arena. Step around to its side, and it's cheesy easy. You often have enough damage potential that you can kill it without seeing the shadows phase. XV: Micolash Host of The Nightmare - Uhh, he has like three gimmicks. Teleporting away from you, Augur of Ebrietas tentacle, and Call from Beyond. This is another scenario where he might kill you once or twice, but you're so OP by the time you reach him, you're just as likely to kill him without even seeing his most devastating attack. He does have some adds that be kind of irritating in his first fight room, but they aren't major impediments. XIV: Rom the Vacuous Spider - Basically another chase boss. If you get too far away his magic meteors can be devastating, and his spider adds to possess a one hit kill throat cut, but that's pretty much it. You can also use things like the flamesprayer to attack him effectively through his face, if you somehow have trouble digging into his long meaty sides. XIII: Darkbeast Paarl - He has a diverse moveset that attacks the player at range as well as upclose, so if you don't keep him pinned down by breaking his limbs or by (apparently, I did not know this info!) throwing a pungent blood cocktail, then he can be devastating. Especially relative to player development. XII: Vicar Amelia - She's pretty tough for potentially being your second boss. She has a big increase versus any boss before her in damage, and your tools may not be upgraded much either. The Numbing Mist is limited and non-purchasable without having delved into Chalices to a certain degree iirc too, so if you're too weak to outpace her healing with raw damage, you can wind up stuck on her. This only ever happened to me on my attempts at going through Bloodborne without ever entering The Dream. You will really feel how much stronger studier she is than Gascoigne, Cleric, or Bloodstarved beasts. XI: One Reborn - Honestly, he could probably be considered easier than a few bosses I listed before him, as I have a tendency to forget he exists until I'm playing through Blood Moon Yarhar'gul. You take out his bell wenches and then break his limbs, while also shooting/visceraling his "head." He's basically a damage sponge with a few weird surprises. Could probably honestly move him down to between Mergo and Micolash. He's easy. Damn. X: Moon Presence - Uhh, this thing is a joke outside of self imposed challenge. In any standard playthrough, the move that reduces you to 1 HP is just HP you regain by beating on it while it stands still via Rally. It can hit you with something that inhibits healing, but I've never seen it. It does hit pretty hard though, and isn't completely effortless. Part 3 coming up soon! I think I'm near the character limit for comments

You can cheese Laurence in second Phase by standing behind his hairy arm. You Position yourself as soon as he loses his legs, then you go for 2 hits at that arm max (keep an eye to your stamina) then he wil swing around backwards wich you dodge forward into and you should be just in the right position again. You can repeat that cycle for the whole Phase bacause Laurence will always repeat the same attack as long as you are standing behind that arm. That was my speedrun strat wich worked perfectly.

Personally don't like difficulty of Orphan's second phase. Complete opposite to Maria, which is flawless dance between two hunters.

Ended up rushing through most of the bosses with ease, and even 1st-try most of the early game bosses (like Cleric Beast, Gascoine, Blood-starved, Paarl, Amilia.... and Martyr, Ludwig, and Moon Presence, later down the line), 2nd-try bosses like Micolash, Lady Maria, Gherman, Ebrietas, with the only two bosses in the game that killed me twice being Laurence and Wet Nurse (cuz of Nightmare phase).................................... ...... And then, there's Orphan of Kos. I died probably over 50 times to that fucking stupid ass little shit, cursed him and his creators to oblivion, and even started calling him freaking Abortion of Kos at some stage of my salty screeches. IX. Living Failures - They're hard enough that people came up for exploits for them or talk about kiting them. A lot of folks have trouble dealing with mob bosses that don't die individually really quickly. You can block their unified meteor summon with the center sunflower. I know a ton of people who "are embarrassed to admit" that they died to these 2nd or 3rd most compared to the other DLC bosses. VIII. Shadows of Yharnam - I feel like I'm copying your list a little subconsciously in how I order some of these, but these guys are the base game's mob boss, and they're actually orchestrated in a very respectable way since they each have their own movesets and style. It's the kind of mob boss that's easier to appreciate, compared to say, Godskin Duo. I also really like that they each have their own healthbar, so you can't just milk one to kill all three. VII. Lady Maria - So, she's a small humanoid boss, and what I find about Bloodborne and the people playing it, is that they overestimate bosses like her, because a lot of the more skilled players play by adhering to meta analyzed weaponry or speedrun context of you only upgraded one thing so you're assumed to be using that etc. But in standard play you're welcome to upgrade weapons for the occasion, and Lady Maria is quite susceptible to mild stagger from weapons that transform into larger/2handed weapons i.e. Hunter's Axe, Ludwig's Holy Blade, Kirkhammer etc. You can actually interrupt a lot of her non-channeled swings and attacks by hitting her with a big weapon R1. This doesn't remove all of the challenge, but I've literally had people tell me I'm cheating by doing that lol. VI. Gehrman The First Hunter - Similarly to Maria, I find that people overestimate his difficulty, because he has a lot of punishing moves if you're fishing for visceral shots or just hitting him with the saw cleaver. You as the player can achieve nearly the same reach as Gehrman if you use Hunter's Axe L2s. He is one of the sad old men at the end Souls games that is actually a challenge though. V. Ebrietas, Daughter of The Cosmos - One of the harder bosses in the game. Thankfully weak to being shot in the face with bone marrow ash. Has a ton of health though, so unless you're heavily invested in bloodtinge, you're not Amygdalaing this one. But repeating pistol +9 or 10 with bone marrow ash does get her setup up for juicy viscerals, and can really come in clutch too. IV. Martyr Logarius - He actually is sort of in line with both Maria and Gehrman as a boss that you can interrupt with big weapon swings. Couple that with the fact that gunshots will actually divert and miss like half the time you shoot at him, couple with his strange slight elevation changes arena, and he very much reads like he may have at one point in time been considered to be last boss material over Gehrman. They even both use scythes. III. Ludwig, the Accursed - What an opening boss to the DLC! He's rough. Especially phase 1. I find his phases to be inverted. Basically if you make it to phase 2, then you practically win. His swings are a bit weird, and his big charged beam explosion can one shot you, but he's also easier to get behind and bring down. II. Laurence, The First Vicar - He has a crap ton of HP, and the lava phase 2 that he emits is crazy movement/attack denial. I don't rate him harder than Orphan though. He deals less damage by a fair amount, and you can catch a breather if you're careful. I. Orphan of Kos - this is still the hardest boss in all of Souls in my opinion. The amount of time people have dedicated to exploits and glitches to remove his difficulty speaks volumes. Imagine if they revisited him in a patch, and removed all of those exploits/glitches. I can't even be objective about this one. This guy rocked my shit so hard, I gave up on beating Bloodborne for a couple of months, and went to play other games. And I think I missed a boss somewhere, will have to check through the list and edit it.

Rom > Ludwig > Laurence > Micolash > One Reborn > Orphan of Kos > Gehrman > Living Failures > Cleric Beast > Father Gascogne > Celestial Emissary = Martyr > Mergo’s Wet Nurse > Shadows of Yharnam > Witches of Hemwick > Amygdala > Vicar Amelia = Paarl > Daughter of the Cosmos > Moon Presence > Blood Starved Beast = Lady Maria. This is how my casual playthrough (no special rules) of the game went. Rom was the hardest due to the spiders she spawns being able to spam several attacks at once that can all 2-shot a 33 Vitality character, 8 deaths. Blood Starved Beast with fire paper and blood cocktails was by far the easiest, taking 0 damage. I have Maria tied with BSB because she was so easy to parry for me and with the +HP back rune if she ever did hit me I got my HP back immediately, she only ever landed 2 or 3 hits across the whole fight.

Is this list supposed to be difficulty for damageless runs? I didn't hear that mentioned, and it seemed like a general list. Honestly, the only boss easier than MP is Witches. Was shocked to see that placement.

I never get why Laurance is placed so high in the list. I did him last on my first playthrough snd it only feld anticlimactic after Orphan. It's definitely not a bad boss, but it was usually easy to keep my distance to think, find lsrge attack and healing openings and even tank quite a bit. It feld like a really chill fight compared to Maria and Orphan, that always keep you on your feet. Might just be because I was already high level and because I wasnt going for hitless, but Laurance just wasn't hard. Same goes for Micolash, he's close to the easiest biss for me, the greatest challange being not to get lost in his mansion. But after that his attacks are rsther easy to dodge and the skeletons don't really pose a thread as they are rather slow. I am not a BB gigachad and got my ass handed by Vicar Emilia, BSB and Kos quite brutally on the first run, but it's just interesting, how large the difference in experience is. I actually like some psrts of the challange dungeons. There are fun bosses and the odea isn't bad. Just figuring out how to actually descend further and further fekd very cryptic and took me wuite some time.

Just so u guys know my Perspective, i am no speedrunner so i have no Business in execution comboing a boss to death, in fact i never use fire/bolt paper or BB-Pellets cuz i think its a cheap way of shortening the bossfights which are supposed to be the most fun and entertaining, i have beaten the game a total of like 15 times with different builds, weapons and on numerous difficulty levels, the highest beeing NG+7, i also got the platinum-trophy, so i consider myself to have quite some knowledge ... With that beeing said here are my opinions to the ranking: 1. Father G is way to low on the list, He is not super difficult either but the fact that he bullies passive players and heavenly punishes dodging bagwards, something that easily happens when ur panicking or just haven't learned yet that dodging into the attack usually has the better outcome, makes him a hard fight for newer Players and a teaching tool, i am convinced he has to be top 10 beating him definetely takes more skill than beating one reborn or micotrash 2. Moon Presence over Gherman have u lost ur mind ? Moon presence could be argued to be one for the bottom 5, just because the boss has like no real way of beating u, sure the moves are not that easy the dodge but they do so little damage that nothing is really a threat to u, her signature move that shrinks u down to 1Hp makes her stand still for like 6 seconds which allows u to beat her relentlesly and regain all ur health in the process and her health pool generally speaking is so low that the fight is over in 3 min. And that is true for every NG+ level ... So there is no way that u can ever convince me that moon presence is harder or takes more effort/skill/knowledge/preparation than amygdala,BSB, Gascoigne, Gherman etc. 3. I dont understand why everybody ranks living failures bottom 5, yes the fight is easy, yes they dont have many mooves, yes the signature move can be dodged by standing behind the big flower in the middle, but they still hit so haard that i die to them 1,2 times each run just by fucking up a parry or beeing careless, so its nice that u actually put them pretty high, maybe even too high 😅 same goes for one reborn and micolash, u should kick these down a couple ranks 4. Think Blood Starved Beast should not be bottom 3, the constand poison buildup can create a stressful fight wih u trying to juggle blood vials and antidotes without getting hit again, BSB is also relatively unforgiving for such an early boss, mess up one dodge on that grab attack and its game over, i can see why u put it so low with that blood cocktail shenanigans beeing a thing, but since i dont use this exploit and judge only the fight itself, i would have placed him Higher 5. Nice to see u showing some respect for logarius, think he is kinda underrated, most people rank him mid at best, but he is the boss that gave me the most trouble in my first playthroughts due to his aggressive second phase and the pressure of : Shoot the sword or thousands knives shall rain from above ! He is kinda eazy once u figured out that parrying is the way to go but i still think he is one of the hardest main game bosses so good placement on ur part 6.Actullay totally agree with ur top 5 rankings: i can see ebrietas beeing the hardest boss in the main game, once again it could be argued for and against this, but i totally see the case and agree with the placement, my order would also go ludwig, maria, orphan, laurence and i think its refreshing to see someone agree with me, almost any Ranking has Orphan on top and from an objective point of view i can understand why but to me personally i never struggled much with him, the first time facing him i was mentally prepared to get my ass kicked but in the end i beat him in under 1 hour and on my last run (NG+4) i even beat him first try cuz i had an answer to every move, laurence on the other hand is the only fight to this day that i struggle with and even have fear taking on cuz i know its gonna suck, I could some up my problems with him in two points: 1. He does a shit ton of damage which results in him beeing way to punishing, even on 99 vitality he absolutely wrecks me 2. I absolutely struggle with finding opportunitys/ windows to attack once he has reached second phase

@pabloguaramato1217 Жыл бұрын
I might be the exception here, but I found Ebrietas to be rather easy-ish on my first playthrough. I usually don't use lock on, so it's easier to dodge when you're sticked to her and not fighting the camera. On the other hand, I struggled terribly with Mergo's Wet Nurse. There's something about her design that I find eerie, plus the nightmare mode is horrible. First time it took me 20+ attempts to finally beat her.

I believe soul of cinder is more complex/has more moves than laurence
@staggerlee7301 Жыл бұрын
He does have more moves, but the issue with Laurence (and I don’t think he’s a bad boss, for the record) is that he’s a combination of large health pool and fast attacks that hit like a truck. For me personally, it’s not so much that his moves are difficult to learn it’s that the fight takes so long and I just slip up at some point and when I do it’s enough to kill me. Soul of Cinder on the other hand, while being more complex, is also fairly easy to beat in pure damage output by that point in the game. I’ve beaten both multiple times and think both are really cool in their own way, but I think Laurence is more of a pain in the ass by quite a wide margin.
@LundyHuntyr Жыл бұрын
@@staggerlee7301 yeah, I mean it depends. I feel like laurence becomes much easier once you learn him, whereas cinder’s difficulty kinda grows the more advanced strats you integrate and the tankier you make him. On max NG cinder is a beast.
@staggerlee7301 Жыл бұрын
@@LundyHuntyrTrue, Ng+Max he’s no joke. I have definitely fought him a lot of different ways, but that’s the thing about FromSoft games is that you are your own difficulty slider. Things are as easy or hard as you make them, and I do think that Laurence is easier to learn as far as moveset goes but when you try to fight him in ways that make it more challenging (low level, no upgrades, no buffs, etc) the aforementioned things that make him a pain in the ass just become more of an issue. I don’t know, we all have different experiences with bosses, and for me I just find long fights annoying. I get what you’re saying though, and SoC is a great fight with a killer OST
@LundyHuntyr Жыл бұрын
@@staggerlee7301 Yeah, and I get where you are coming from. Fighting Laurence BL4 no roll and no beast blood pellets or chalice gems was hard as crap. Took me a bit over 30 hours. Soul of cinder without bleed no roll took me 30-35. They’re both very similar in difficulty.

@SirVyre Жыл бұрын
First I wanna say, I love the approach you took to the tier list, including lore details on top of technical ones. Yet, I gotta disagree with some placements. I'll probably make at least two comments. This one to disagree within the context you setup, and then another in a different context (my list). To start, Amygdala is way too high on the difficulty list. It seems like you neglect gun builds, and Amygdala can be completely countered by a base stats to wield +3 Repeating Pistol with Bone Marrow Ash. It's so effective that any Hunter with the baseline to wield that pistol can deal roughly 630 damage to her head, which is super easy to lock on and shoot (this is 1/10th of her HP per shot). You also miss out on most of her crazy flailing attacks this way, and it breaks her for visceral attacks or charged R2s. Meaning the only time you'll have to contend with her whole moveset is in her chalice version or on a BL4 run. The same goes for Ebrietas, although I'd only move her down a peg or two. Her head is super vulnerable to being shot, and as long as you have like 30 or so Bloodtinge investment and upgraded the Repeating Pistol further, Bone Marrow Ash is also purchasable by the time you can fight her as well. Father Gascoigne is also way too high. For his entire first phase you can repeatedly stagger him with his daughter's music box, which has infinite uses and can be repeated should you fail. It can also put him into disarray exactly once in his beast form. This allows the player to charged R2 him from behind to visceral him, upon which the music box can be played again to loop backstabbing him. Once he is in beast form, you can spam your gun to trigger viscerals or you can use that one stun from the music box to R2 him into a backstab and then you can oil him and burn him to death with a single oil and molotov as he gets back up. I also think Paarl should be higher on the list, because even though he is apparently susceptible (did not know that, I admit) to pungent blood, those are rare on a first playthrough, and if you already used them for Bloodstarved Beast, then you likely won't have many/any for Paarl. Beyond that I think the damage he deals relative to how quickly you can encounter him should be considered, as he does hit fairly hard and at range, too.
