1. Season 14 - Love all of these stories. Having Sarah and Leela is at its best. Don’t forget Robots of Death. 2. Season 13 - Not as big a fan of Planet of Evil or Android Invasion. Love Pyramids, Seeds and Morbius. 3. Season 15 - Fang Rock is my all time favorite. Love K-9. Invasion of Time is great. Leela’s departure is horribly handled. 4. Season 12 - Unit, Sontarans, Daleks and Davros, and Cybermen. Revenge is probably worst Cyberman story of classic era. 5. Season 16 - I really like the Key to Time. I know the ending is weak, but I love almost all the stories, Ribos included. Kroll is terrible. Pirate Planet is fantastic. 6. Season 17 - City of Death is the real winner here. Julian Glover is amazing in everything he does. The rest are meh. 7. Season 18 - State of Decay is great. Also like Keeper of Traken and Logopolis. Hate Leisure Hive. Not a fan of Adria at all.

City of Death is a particular highlight and the 1993 Shada is so fun, every time I watched the bit where Chris enters the TARDIS, just for a laugh, I found myself to the end of that episode because it's just so good. Destiny isn't that bad either, not good but not bad.

I agree with most of what you said, I love Nightmare Of Eden. However your slight against Horror Of Fang Rock is unfair, it's a stunning story 9/10. The Graham Williams era is my least favourite, but is a masterpiece compared to the shitshow of Chinless.

I love you, love the show, appreciate the content being put out in a quarantine, but I had to stop the video at 1:22 because season 16 is so much better than people give it credit for. Androids of Tara is Star Wars mixed with Princess Bride, and even the worst serial, Armageddon Factor is better than some other episodes of Bakers era. It’s worth a rewatch, and I was able to binge it all in a row and loved it.

7. Season 17 (until Season 24, then again with New Who series 11 and 12, this would've probably been my all time least favourite season of Doctor Who.) 6. Season 16 (while I find many of these stories to be enjoyable enough stories in their own right on random rewatches, nothing stands out to me, and taken as a whole with the whole key to time arch, I just find it to be an incredibly boring, bland, and soulless season to watch through) 5. Season 15 (got of to a great start for not only this season, but the Graham Williams era with The Horror of Fang Rock, an all time favourite of mine. I also really enjoy Image of the Fendahl, and find The invasion of Time to be pretty decent aside from the god awful ending, but the rest of the season was not to my taste. Overall though, this is the one season of the Graham Williams era that I'd call good overall.) 4. Season 12 (this is a rather controversial opinion, but I don't find season 12 to be anything particularly special. Don't get me wrong, it's still a solid season to say the least, but as far as Doctor Who goes, I find it fairly average. Even Genesis of the Daleks I find to be simply "good", rather than the absolute classic others seem to rate it as. That said, with the exception of Revenge of the Cybermen, I really enjoy these stories.) 3. Season 18 (I've always found this season to be severely underrated, the stories are somewhat of a mixed bag, definitely a lot less consistent than anything from the Hinchcliffe era, but it just feels like such a much needed Breath of fresh air, it feels bigger, grander, and with a much more serious / darker tone to it, the somber feeling feels very fitting for Tom Bakers last season. Not all stories worked, but I think most of them were at least decent, and the last 2 stories were in my opinion absolutely brilliant.) 2. Season 14 (A brilliant season with not a single bad story in my opinion, although I definitely prefer some to others. "The Robots of Death" and "The Talons of Weng - Chiang" in particular are two of my all time favourite Doctor Who stories. I think it also does a Great job of giving Sarah Jane a good send off, even though it does come a little out of nowhere, and also introducing Leela, who was a very interesting and rather unique companion to any they came before, or even since) 1. Season 13 (Definitely in my top 3 Doctor Who seasons of all time, truly amazing. Like Session 14, there's not a single bad story in my opinion. The dynamic between 4 and Sarah is nothing short of perfection, and it gives a Great send off to the brigadier and Harry. Of the 6 stories in this season, I'd rate half of them as absolute 10/10 all time classics, those being Terror of the Zygons, Pyramids of Mars and The Seeds of Doom.)

Tom is my favorite Doctor, hands down. He was "my Doctor" growing up as a kid. But I couldn't pick a fav season... I'm more of an episode by episode kind of fan. "Talons of Weng Chaing" probably being my favorite Tom Baker episode, and Leela my favorite companion, but there are many, many more. Contrary to your review, Mary Tamm's Romana for me is superior to Lala and I don't mind the Key To Time season at all. It's the Lala Ward season and the E-Space stories that don't sit right with me. Probably why I lost interest when Peter Davison took over. I agree with you about season 12 and 13, tho. There were some great episodes there, and the dynamic of Harry, Sarah and The Doctor at the start of 12 was great.

7) Season 15 - Quite the mixed bag and severely lacking an identity. It's missing the positives of the Hinchcliffe era without those of the Williams era having fully materialised at this stage. 6) Season 17 - Much like Season 15 but with a stronger identity, a stronger TARDIS team and higher highs. Still a mixed bag though, and does feel somewhat stale. 5) Season 16 - The only time the Williams era truly hits the mark for me. Whilst it doesn't have the highs of its successor, it maintains a good consistency throughout with a strong story arc. 4) Season 12 - A strong season with high highs and a fun little story arc of its own (Nerva Beacon, Time Ring), but peters out a bit at the end. 3) Season 18 - Ambitious and in my view successful. The first five stories are a non-stop upward spiral, and the end of the season is pretty solid too. I particularly enjoy the interwoven story arcs (E-Space, CVEs, The Master returning). 2) Season 13 - Strong and consistent, and never anything less than decent. Possibly one of the most iconic seasons of all time, although doesn't have the high points of its successor. 1) Season 14 - Very much a season of two halves, but the better half is truly outstanding and propels the season to my top 5 easily. Tonally similar to its predecessor, but arguably more sophisticated.

My biggest problem with Revenge of the Cyberman is that the Vogans, who live on a planet of gold and know that Cyberman are vulnerable to it, are shooting them with weapons that apparently aren't shooting gold? That was really odd and made the Vogans look even less useful than they already came off as. Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor to this day. He was the first a lot of us yanks saw back in the 70s and 80s when PBS carried it when I was a kid and he just nails it, even in his last series where he was obviously less invested. Genesis of the Daleks is my all time number one story, but Pyramids of Mars, Robots of Death, and City of Death rank really high for me as well. My least favorite Tom Baker story is the Invisible Enemy, which I loved as a kid, but watching it again recently, it's not good and it make Leela look thick which ruins the character; Leela is actually quite bright so making her so over the top superstitious and not as quick as she normally is combined with the shrimp viruses and the weird Fantastic Voyage bit really made me dislike it. Invasion of Time is pretty bad too, and again, Leela just takes off with some guy she barely knew.

Mostly agree but for me Season 12 takes the top spot. I don't mind Revenge of the Cyberman that much and Genesis is just too good. I really, really like Pyramids though. Later on, Baker was too silly and it was hard to be invested in the jeopardy. Eventually this got rained in for the 80s. Also I will always love the dynamic of 7 and Ace.

Season 15 changed because an organization complained about doctor who’s violence, and the bbc decided that stories like the horror of fang rock were no longer appropriate. they made a point to have less violence and stuff that would scare kids in the show at that time...yeah it probably suffered for that. there’s a thing about it in the special features of one of the dvds around that time

For me: 7. Season 15 - Horror and Sunmakers are two of the great Tom Baker stories but there is little else to love and I despise The Invasion of Time 6. Season 16 - Mary Tamm is great but unfortunately it just lacks any real great stories 5. Season 18 - Decent first outing for JNT but a couple of things just don't work for me. Having said that Full Circle is a gem and I adore State of Decay 4. Season 17 - Controversial I know but City of Death is one of my favourite stories ever, I also love Shada and Nightmare of Eden. This series also has my favourite ever Doctor/Companion duo ever so I can forgive some of the duds. 3. Series 12 - Slightly overrated for me, but it has Genesis and Ark in Space, so even though I find stories like Robot overrated - it's still amazing. 2. Series 14 - The Peak Gothica of the Hinchcliffe/Holmes era. Creepy and quite dark. Two great companions with an amazing Doctor. Talons and Robots of Death are two of my favourite stories ever, its just great. 1. Series 13 - The greatest of the show ever? Four of the Six stories are ten out of tens. Pyramids, Terror of the Zygons, Seeds of Doom and Brain of Morbius. Need I say more?

Gotta agree with all of this. The problem with Leela's second season is there are many episodes that look and feel similar to one another, but no really memorable monsters. There is a lot of parody with too many 'did you see what we did there?' moments. Thinking back to that season, much of the imagery seems gloomy and dull. I think Fang Rock is OK. Invisible Enemy might be the most enjoyable though it is pretty silly. The weakest story of my all-time fave season is Morbius. Here in Australia it was withheld from regular repeats. The ABC always seemed to run Doctor Who in early evening slots stripped Monday through to Thursday. So they got through episodes FAST so repeated other stories over and over and over. It wasn't until 1989 that I saw Morbius. I love Robots of Death despite some weak acting performances in it. Also they kill off many characters really early, then in episode three the death rate slows right down. It is like they wanted to save money by paying the actors for fewer episodes, so they killed a bunch of characters really early.

I always liked Lalla Ward as Romana better than Mary Tamm, she was more reserved when caught in a sticky situation where Mary Tamm's role couldn't help to almost boast out she was a Timelord so you should bow down to me. I like individual stories the most, I think if in The Robots Of Death that if D84 didn't get destroyed, it might become a travel companion to the Doctor and Leela, since it seemed you can feel that it admires the Doctor's intelligence.

I loved the first part to Android Invasion and the 2nd half of part two but I really disliked everything else and I thought it was weird how they tried to do an END OF THE WORLD episode at the end and an Invasion of the Body Snatchers all in one episodes. Glad u like it personally thats the weakest link in Season 13 for me

My ranking would honestly be the order in which the seasons aired I like season 18 but Tom just seems drained and the stories lack wit so it’s my least favourite. I like the vibe of finality in logopolis though.

A 2nd new producer for Tom and they didn't get along. Also he was married to his co-star and it was fractious. Unfortunately, and Tom would say so himself in later interviews, both problems had a lot to do with his ego after being the star of the show for 6 years.
