Ranking every ARMORED CORE poster child from the PS1-PS2 Games

In this video I ranked each Armored Core featured in the PS1 and PS2 entries all the way to Last Raven

Defo agree with the ranking of oracle.. if it wasn't for the choice of generator, and it had a more energy efficient replacement (and maybe a Kinnara rather than magoraga) it would have been a neigh perfect machine for third gen

I always thought the starter AC in 1 was more that game's poster mech than the actual poster mech. That samurai helmet head part looks so cool.

The starter AC head part? It also gives a Samus Aran vibe as well. The Anyang AC is featured in both AC1 and PP intro making it the AC with the most appearances in any generation title.

You should test each cover ac in their OWN game. Even if guns are the same, the attack power are not. The 1000 round machine gun is the best gun in Armored core 3 BUT not in Silent Line, and its garbage in Last Raven

The Omicron very clearly had the Karasawa in its opening cinematic, so its a bit of a letdown they downgraded his gun so hard. He also clearly had a max lock of 6 with his single missile launcher. (Also, he had a sword equipped but used it as a shield lol)

Agreed, I suppose if FROM kept it as faithful to the original design some of the ACs would be unplayable. That Zinaida battle at the internecine truly broke many Ravens 😅 Thank for your comment, cheers!

@@Donut_Vanguard okay - constructive criticism: the title is a bit misleading as you say "every" armored core but it only deals with ps2 era and earlier. I would also leave the tier list on screen for a little big longer when you add each contender, i didn't have time to process/appreciate the information when it appeared.

5:20 Energy shields stun energy blades. Also they're highly effective at reducing the heat build up from getting hit. Also also, they just reduce damage.

the cover ac from ac2 is so heavily nerfed by it being a linear rifle vs the karasawa from ac2 which i still consider superior to the ones from later games its design is def an extremely strong hard hitting dmg output with speed

It also not even using the right cannon weapon. If you look at it AC2 design, it using a beam cannon, not a grenade launcher (yes the Ether Master you fight in game does use a grenade launcher but I feel it was mistake on FROM's part). In ACLRP, you can recreate Ether Master since Zio Matrix lightweight arm is a PSP exclusive along with the Karasawa Mk-II.

The best poster boy is Carlyle wonder raid from Another Age, he shows up in the final mission and its a complete pushover lol even tho he looks cool as hell in the intro

Knowing how accurate he is with the linear rifle if he used the GL it would be harder to take down. He is very mobile and takes to the air which makes keeping a lock on very difficult.

After such a killer intro BJ ended up being one of the worst poster boy AC's, his loadout is so bad, the AC itself aint bad. Oracle is a beast, most of my early builds were built off that framework, improving many areas. You should work on your mic levels, you sound abit low in volume, but cool video.

I agree, BJ was really a letdown. The python can’t even take down a helicopter but in the cinematic it devastated an entire radius of military vehicles. Thanks for the feedback, I greatly appreciate your input 🙌🏼

Oracle is only a beast because linear cannons were stupidly overpowered in Nexus in onward. After disappearing from the PS1 games, then coming back to AC3SL, Nexus rapidly buff the rof while nerfing the heat value but somehow giving linear cannons the ability to stagger hard meant that most ACs you fought could get stun lock and cheesed hard. Linear cannons were easy to figure out which AC had OP-I and which didn't (OP-I ACs did not stagger when being hit).

True, but he is not a human plus, and he isn’t the one on the cover either. Also he would just be target practice. He only has the Roc4 as a weapon. Is sad but he isn’t much of a challenge.

Cascade Range isn't that bad. replace the Hydra (easiest to dodge) with a reliable small missile and the head with a lighter, less drainy option (e.g EYE-2) and it's a very solid build. t. beaten cheater Zinaida with it.

I agree, the build itself is not as bad. My gripe with Cascade Range is his choice of back mounted weapons. The hydra are easy to evade, the python is a cool looking weapon but no efficient in dealing fast damage imo.

@@DemiDemiGlace true, though missiles are more easily evaded in LR compared to other titles. He already has OP-I but props for not going the usual back mounted GL set up that most AC builds opt for.

@@Donut_Vanguard The issue with Cascade Ranger is that Python, despite how it depicted in the opening CGI, it pretty weak as a EN weapon. You are better off using Pulse Rifle and that a damn shame considering it the only hand held railgun in Last Raven.

Fighting Exile in AC3 was a bitch I swear I couldn't beat him wit my old reliable mid weight build so I resorted to heresy I equipped a hover legs wit the MG 1000 and 2 extra ammo units and a blade safe to say I won (with like 45 ap or something lol)

Nice, you could also gone the cheese route and fight him in the parking garage. It usually keeps aerial ACs grounded, the MG 1000 is easily the best weapon of the game so you chose well. The left arm Howitzer also would’ve helped you a ton. Thanks for watching.

An even cheaper option would be to use the stealth extension part. Literally makes that battle a joke, as well as every other battle. Even after the nerf it received in Silent Line it still makes battles a joke. It's hard to bring down your opponent when you can't lock onto them.
