Even though the Staying Alive soundtrack from 1983 is not a proper Bee Gees studio album I love the 5 Bee Gee songs on side A including the edit of Stayin' Alive. I did not know that the movie existed until recently. To me this is what Living Eyes should have sounded like. Just a bit of trivia: the Living Eyes album was the first manufactured on a CD for demonstrative purposes. Please do a review of the 2 soundtracks.

Interestingly, I was listening to the Bee Gees twenty years before this guy was born! It's a testament to the Gibb Brothers' genius, that someone this young has such an interest in Bee Gees music. I agree with some of his observations, but the top 3 albums should have been ranked in a different order. Spirits Having Flown was their most commercially successful album. That didn't necessarily make it the best, in terms of quality. It wasn't, in my opinion. The falsetto was overdone on this album. I agree with this guy, that Stop Think Again was a bad song. But, it was part of the album he ranked number one. Contradiction? Children of the World was a much better album. The songs on that album were closer in dynamic to the Fever songs. Also, these songs featured a better blending of the Gibb Brothers' voices. It wasn't all about the falsetto. All in all, an interesting take on the Bee Gees, but this guy doesn't really get what the Bee Gees were all about.

Size Isn't Everything & This is Where I Came In are the only latter-day Bee Gees albums I like. As for the earliest albums, Odessa was such a boring slog to sit thru, while Idea is probably my favorite of their older material. Spirits Having Flown & Main Course are still their best albums ever...and Living Eyes is their most underrated. And I agree, "To Love Somebody" & "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" are two of the worst Bee Gees hits.
