I remember playing Five way more. So for me its 1. Five 2. Kino 3. Ascension 4. Moon And to be honest I can't rate the other maps because I never played them. I'm 21. I started playing BO1 at the end of it when BO2 came out so I just played BO2 more. I loved doing the BO1 scorestreaks though where every kill is 3 care packages I had like 3 friends go back and play it to then try our best to get out of the map by climbing the pile.

I’m glad u agree 🤝 Personally I always saw Kino as just an alternate Der Riese with really nothing different about it other than the location. I do still think it’s a fun map to just load into and shoot zombies or go for high rounds, but yeah it’s not super unique. Most people who say it’s the best zombies map either started playing zombies for the first time on Kino or are just very casual. Which there’s nothing wrong with that, but I like innovation and creativity in zombies and Kino didn’t offer much of that. But it’s still a solid map.

Yeah, I hate when bigger zombie KZbinrs are always like “kino is so boring” or “kino is trash” but it’s unfair. It’s of the same calibre as the maps that came before it, it’s literally a waw map. Yeah it’s boring now but that’s because you overplayed it as a kid and it’s so much simpler than everything after. It’s like calling verrukt or nacht bad, it was great for its time

To me if you show someone Ascension without power they should be able to tell instantly that it’s black and white, but if you show bo3 they are going to think that’s what the game just looks like.

Shangri la was my favorite it was the most beautiful map and it was actually a challenge all around instead of having good camping spots and bad training spots and vice versa it had a good amount of everything and the wonder weapon needed skill it wasn't just a you get it and become immortal thing and the boss zombies were amazing

Okay so personally this is my list, hot takes on this list so far warning For last place, I'd have to say kino. Iconic, and amazing but it didn't put much out there, the thunder gun was a unique weapon to wipe out a bunch of zombies next up we got ascension, personally, ascension didn't really do anything either, it didn't have much of a challenge, and it didn't bring anything new except stamin up and PhD flopper which were amazing additions, but I don't think it makes up for it, the next one, I gotta put five, five was a good and creative map, you had to have skill with the wonder weapon to actually use it and it actually has some use, it slows them down and if you kill them fast enough with your secondary gun, your pretty much in good hands, it invites a good challenge and has hard to train spots. But it is still very fun especially when you do the "switch weapons every round challenge" next up, we got Shang, now granted, this is a very unforgiving map, but it made an actual good wonder weapon that takes skill and the balls to use it, because yk, the damage gets reduced but they hit so much faster, and it also put traps all over the map you could die or take damage from, inviting a very unique mechanism. First place goes to moon, yes, you heard me. "OH this mf put kino below moon???" Now hear me out, zombies on the moon, op wonder weapon, low gravity, cool Easter egg, and a challenge?? Man, this really is the best black ops map, lemme know If you guys agree, don't go too hard on me

Well I don’t have much time to explain things in the short so I gotta keep it quick. I do like Kino and it will always be fun to play, but it is simple and didn’t innovate. I understand a lot of people have lots of love for Kino since it was a lot of people’s first map, but I started with WaW and felt like Kino wasn’t a big step up from what we got in Der Riese. That being said, I do agree that it’s an iconic map and it’s always fun to just hop in and shoot zombies. Plus the stage is an iconic train spot. I just wish it did more. Also like I said in my pinned comment I enjoy all of these maps a lot. I just gotta rank them somewhere.

Exactly. And look, I LOVE the BO1 maps. It’s my second favorite zombies game. The only map I’m not crazy about is Shang. So even though I’ve got kino lower, it’s still a lot of fun to go back to. Like I said I just don’t think it did a ton of creative things like the dlc maps did.

@@LuckySevens I want to preface this by saying I don't hate the map, but it is my least favorite for a few reasons, one of them being the monkeys yes, but I also am just not a huge fan of the pack location, the location and general is not my personal favorite, and I find it a little too easy to high round, but like I said I don't hate any zombies map (excluding vanguard) it's just personally my least favorite of bo1.

I can have fun in Shang, but it’s my personal least favorite mostly because of the map layout. Honestly should’ve brought that up in the vid. But yeah I’m just not a fan of it. It’s not really because it’s hard though. I like Five’s layout more and it’s obviously a hard map. Even harder than Shang since the wonder weapon sucks. I adore the baby gun in Shang though and the map has PHD which is a plus over maps like Kino and Five. That being said, that map design has always bugged me for some reason. I guess it’s just how tight it is. I respect those of you who love the map though. I get it.

My own list is 6 kino its too easy and far too overated for me to play but its still quality 5 shang i never played shang on bo1 due to being young and broke but its visuals and potential may change the ranking after i sink sone time into it 4 ascension its similar to kino but is far more interesting and added staminup my favourite perk 3 moon the first map pack i got for bo1 the visuals and audio is trash but its layout, easter egg, inovation and wavegun makes me love it 2 five cool characters best boss ever in sombies difficult but still enjoyable and 'er need some beans for the chowda here' 1 call of the dead perfect cast, amazing layout great boss cool easter egg fantastic wonder weapon and an amazing challenge

Well we can agree to disagree. Personally I didn’t find it all that innovative but that’s just me. There weren’t really a lot of new things that Shang added to zombies that stuck and it didn’t even include a new perk which is something every other map in BO1 aside from Kino did. But I’m not hating on those who like it. It’s just not a map that I like a ton. What is your BO1 ranking?

@@LuckySevens five and kino both didn’t include new perks. Call of the dead did, but the perk it introduced is so useless that it doesn’t even make a difference. Shang has the most unique wonder weapon in zombies, and it had a very unique style and environment. It also introduced the monkeys for power up flipping, and the special zombies. The minecart travel system as well as the waterslide, and the way to pap is unique to any other map. Even turning on the power is different since there are 2 switches. This is definitely one of the biggest stand out maps in zombies so to say it didn’t innovate is kinda wild, but either way not every map needs to innovate. Sometimes it’s about execution, and Shang was executed very well.

I’m not sure as it’s been a long time since I’ve been on console but if I had to guess I would say they’re still 10-15 dollars a piece which is just a scam by today’s standards. I could be wrong though, but I’m just going off of how expensive they still are on PC. The maps themselves are great fun so if you didn’t know about them and want to play them, then go for it, but I hope they aren’t that expensive still on ps3. That’s kinda sad if they still are.

My list: 6) "Five". Too tight and very challenging. 5)Moon. Though the EE ending is awesome, the movement is clunky 4)Shangri- La. This is also tight like "Five" but has a fun wonder weapon. 3)Kino. The introduction of the Thunder Gun was amazing and the EE song was a bop 2) Ascension. Really easy and fun to high round on. It also introduces PHD and Stamin-Up. 1)Cotton. The scavenger was really fun and the EE song by Avenged Sevenfold was such a banger. PS: I do enjoy all of these equally.

Well it is just my opinion. You don’t have to agree. I still think Shang is solid though. Also like I said the setting is a big reason I like moon and I like the creativity of the map. Not for everyone though.

What is with Zombies KZbinrs and their obsession with “innovation”? Like who gives a shit. Kino is legendary. It seems like that’s always what people say to slam it “oh it didn’t innovate” yea well it was really fun, had a great layout, and was extremely replay-able. Who gives a shit if it didn’t add some stupid mechanic that was never used again like 1/2 of the other maps.

Because Kino didn’t really do anything different from Der Riese and I find Der Riese to be better. It’s always good to try and add new things. If innovation wasn’t important, we would still be getting maps like Nacht. Doubt people would want that.

@@LuckySevens innovation can be important. It is not the only thing though. That was the only criticism. Is it similar to Der Riese? Sure. But it also was an excellent map and probably the most played map ever (I didnt have the DLC and played Kino probably over 250 hours worth). Lack of innovation isnt a criticism.

Kind of yeah but I’m just sticking to original maps. The BO1 versions aren’t as different as the BO3 versions are for example. Plus it’s hard ranking that many maps in a 60 second short. I just barely squeezed the base maps in.

Yeah the BO1 remasters were just a nice little bonus. Not nearly as much time went into them as there was for chronicles.

I do actually like Kino too. BO1 is my 2nd favorite zombies game and I do genuinely enjoy all the maps aside from Shang. Although even Shang can be fun when using the baby gun. But yeah Kino is solid, I just don’t think it’s the best map ever and I do wish it would’ve done more cool stuff like the following BO1 maps did.
