The toughness on the fairy knight I think correlates to how D&D determines Armor Class. Higher dexterity can translate to being harder to hit. So being small enough to ride on a beetle could mean they're super hard to hit, or even see. Thus, high toughness.

Powerlevel 2 for Obeka?!? Obeka is one of the best single Commanders in the set. Isochron Scepter + Final Fortune for Infinite Turns or Underworld Breach + Turn Spell for enough Turns to win the Game. And all spells are actually good on its own. It's also stopps wins or strong plays in other turns like an endstep ad Naus or something like an Instant Draw Spell or a Thrassios activation

Jared Carthalion is a really fun deck! I went with a Voltron style deck that also runs some damage effects to make him bigger. It's very hard to balance the deck but once you find what you like then it's great! Lots of fun!

Amareth seems like she wants to be running a bunch of what I call "as above, so below" effects. Make all of your permanents have as many types as possible, notably through Ashaya, Mycosynth Lattice, and Enchanted Evening. Couple this with the massive ramp and mana production that her colors afford you, and you can really do some work.

Kwain is actually really good with cards that allow you to milk opponents with draw, such as sphinx’s tutelage, Teferi’s tutelage, patient rebuilding, and other such cards. Also, cards like Approach can make a decent win con for the deck,

One cool thing about Imoti is you can cast a 9 drop, cascade into like a 6 drop if you get lucky, which will cascade again. Of course if you get insanely lucky, the ceiling is much higher than that even, you could cascade a 12 drop into an 11 drop into a 10 drop into a 9 drop etc, all the way down to 6... obviously that's not really going to happen naturally, but maybe with some top deck manipulation you could do something close, I just love how high the ceiling is.

Obeka could have potential to be strong when tuned, but I don't think it's looking cEDH except for the fact it's Grixis. There's some cheeky stuff like asking someone else to end their turn to counter an end phase Ad Nauseum, but that's almost never happening. However, I think Obeka should be at least as strong as Hans though, so 2 seems a bit too low.

@@xdavid00 you just hyper tutor for the 3 different previously unplayable 2 mana extra turns cards and isocron scepter for infinite turns... But theres alot of other broken stuff you can do with her like sneak attack and eot effects. There are a few cedh channels that already like her. She lets you abuse a sundial effect in your command zone which gets out of hand.

On Gnostro... being a bad storm pay off usually means the game will be much more entertaining for the group as a whole. :3 Which, is the same argument I'd reserve for Amareth as well, despite Amareth being less powerful than Chulane. If you use artifact/encahntment creature, you get a chance to hit either card, advantage without being as abusable as Chulane.

Jared Carthalion is probably the best commander on the list in my opinion. If you can control the board until you get Pariah Shield attached to him then you never lose the Monarch. Then you give him evasion while casting Star of Extinction and Blasphemous Act. Then get extra combat. This dude is unbelievably powerful!

Imoti I believe is confirmed to be Amonkhet because I think her lore referenced her cleansing the Luxa, which I assumed to be the same from Bounty of the Luxa (and she's the celebrant of bounty). Also she just really looks it, and faintly has bolas horns in the art from her topmost arms

I think obeka is actually very strong. You can play 3 time walks, and make and infinite turn combo with final fortune and sceptre. Could be wrong but if you build it more competitively it seems very strong. You also get to play things that end the turn but make you loose. Just seems like a ton of room for cool and powerful combos

For Hamza, I've found the best way to play him is using x-costed creatures. That way you get A) early cheap creatures that enter with +1 counters and B) are big late game creatures that take complete advantage of Hamza's cost reduction.

Yes that is how I play my hamza deck and I also have enchantments that add or double the amount of counters put on creatures. I also have bolster creatures in it.

Vargas would be a 2/2 when he attacks, not a 1/1. He’s still not real good as a commander, but a 2/2 for 2 with a banner is pretty efficient when you first cast him for a pirate tribal deck. Loved the ur-banana commentary, lol. I want that card now.

Just built an Hamza deck and I like the idea that a simple 1 mana +1/+1 creature can turn into a semi-mana discount. That was a great opportunity to undust my spikes :D Definitely not uber strong but decent commander. Must be creature super heavy, though.

Obeka is the strongest cmdr in the set... Idk how you dont see it. You get three 2 mana extra turn cards, you get all the access to broken abilities like sneak attack that should sack but dont. Its an absurd ability on a creature. Plus you're in control colors so youll be protected. This card is just beautiful. My buddy built it and it has become one of my least favorite decks to play against... Its obnoxious esp if you put a bit of money into it.

Untappers like: aphetto alchemist, fate stitcher, unbender tine, and tidal force to untap Kwain a ton and flood people with cards. Also untapping empowered autogenerator lots. Stealing and copying players cards like : control magic, treachery, twincast, bribery, faerie artisans, clever impersonator, sower of temptation, keiga the tide star. Cards that offer deals and play switcheroo with creatures like : djinn of infinite secrets, curse of verbosity, benevolent offering, intellectual offering, coveted jewel, pendant of prosperity. Protecting yourself with cards such as comeuppance, dawn charm, aetherspouts , reins of power. Propaganda, and teferi's moat. Lastly, capitalizing on all those cards you're drawing with ominous seas, oneirophage, chasm skulker , hoofprints of the stag, or slapping an empyrial plate on a draining welk, guile , or one of your billion Pegasus tokens you might create with storm herd. It was a really fun deck and I was able to make allies with other players to beat the others who were taking over the game and then eventually win when they let their guards down. Have fun with Kwain 😄😄

12:20 This is something we see so often, awesome commanders that are basically unplayable because dying once makes them almost impossible to ever use again without waiting an entire turn cycle. I started wondering if commanders with CMC 5 or higher should only be taxed by 1, or, if commander tax should stop entirely after CMC 6 UNLESS you try to cast it twice in one turn, and then it would apply in full. (To prevent all sorts of weird combo stuff that might be problematic.) There are so many cool and fun commanders that you just can't play unless you are intentionally lowering your power level. I really think some type of rule to allow these commanders to be viable would really bring a LOT of diversity and fun to the format.

For Lathiel(the unicorn), it's power should be at least 2.5, that's one hell of a life gain payoff, it's a life matters deck with white & green instead of just white, and with plenty of lifelinker it can go crazy strong crazy fast, if you gained 4 life the turn you cast him, by end of turn he's a 6/6 (kinda).

Vargus Wrath is a very mediocre commander. But in the 99 of a Malcolm/Breeches deck, he is insane. That's +2/+2 for all your creatures before anyone has been sent back to the command zone. I drafted such a deck and I'm turning it into a full 100. It was a blast.

Aesi is an elder serpent and worshiped in lore . It’s a world serpent in lore , either pay tribute or the waters drop and have to deal with largest creature on the plane. Aesi is a very greedy and selfish creature that most likely destroys everything or kills the group of people traveling pass anyway of tribute is given to keep its domain and lair secret
