Paul Ricciardi I haven’t played bf5 in a few months so yesterday played a couple games of that and bf1 and the difference is astonishing. BF1 is miles ahead in terms of maps, vehicles and just the general feel of the game. BF5 definitely feels incomplete

Got boring after 2 weeks but I am most certainly looking forward to the Pacific.. hopefully they can drop 4 maps at a time like years past. Nothing better than the Asian Pacific maps. al sundan is easily one of my favorites. Love the all-out war feeling in this map and playing as an attacker on breaktrough while attacking the last sector (the airfield) just feels amazing

Yeah unfortunately for people like me who loved the huge and vehicle focused maps from BF 1942 & BF2. BF3 had some, BF4 too, but when you wanna play the game now, half of the servers are Operation Metro/Locker only. People seem to enjoy spamming nades and MMG's for hours on the same spot more than running, driving, flying around on huge maps. Sadly the Metro gameplay seems very brainless for me :(

DICE PLEASE bring back operations to the way it was in BF1. That was my favorite mode in any battlefield game! They kind of ruined it in bf5, idk why they changed it. Probably because they felt they need to always keep changing things but more often than not they end up changing this for worse.

Best: - Operation Underground (truly fun for infantry) and Mercury (perfect medium sized and mix between vehicles and infantry) -Panzerstorm -Marita -Al Sundan -Halvoy -Lofoten and Provence take the same spot as last because only two game modes for both when they would have much more potential

So by this point in BF1 there were at least 13 new maps (all of which were conquest compatible), and 17+ new weapons. By the end of the game just a few months later there were 22 DLC maps (all but 2 compatible with conquest), and 38+ weapons. By comparison, after over a year, we have 8 maps, only 5 of which should even count, and 21 new weapons which is actually an improvement. Overall, I'd say it's a very mixed bag. And, honestly, I can't help feeling that a live service is at least partially to blame. I've never seen a game with a comparable live-service to a season pass. I'm not saying that a pass is better, but I'm just saying that with our last pass, it more than doubled game content in big, dramatic, exciting drops, whereas now we have a trickle that is often as disappointing as it is exciting. Maybe after the Pacific things will turn around, but this was not a great showing for the first try at a live-service model here.

With the introduction of boats with the Pacific, a conquest/breakthrough map could be set up for Lofoten Islands where there are objectives on both islands. That would be a really cool unique map. Unlike Provence, Lofoten Islands has the out of bounds scenery done, so it would be possible to have the two islands in one conquest map. I really hope they do this.

I've been loving BF5 since the update that made it play smoother and buffed the medic weapons. It was around this time that I started playing only Squad TDM because I was bored of most of the maps and I really enjoyed the Squad TDM gameplay including the new maps. Now we have a proper infantry map in Underground and the game is great right now. I hope the new maps aren't just going to be a bit 'samey' like a lot of BF maps can be.

My interest could be different from most of players. (64-player maps only) My top 5 favourite 1. Twested Steel (Decent tank/plane quantity, intense bridge fight, map size that feels neither big nor small, all modes fit well in this map) 2. Fjell 652 (Dogfight and bombing infantry are awsome, also it's easy to shooting planes with panzerfaust) 3. Al Sundan (Best map for vehicle warfare) 4. Mecury (The open field and house area make it suitable for both long range fighting and close quarter combat, same as Arras, but I like Mecury more since it has one more vehicle on both sides, and the water is beautiful.) 5. Arras My least 5 favourite 5. Op. Underground (Yeah, I felt very boring being stucked at chockpoint and continuously death) 4. Devastation (Bit sick of hide-and-seek) 3. Marita (Where is the enemy?) 2. Hamada (Intended to be vehicle focused map but the terrain is terrible) 1. Aerodrome (Field is too open, annoying tank/sniper camper, OP Sturmtiger could easily turn the tide, everyone loves to grind at C and no one knows to flank.......) Maps in the middle: -Panzerstorm -Rotterdam -Narvik

I notice if you go into the server browser and set it for conquest, there will be Lofoten Islands and Provence. They could bring naval warfare to Lofoten Islands, it is obvious why. They also need to bring more weapons into the game, there are dozens in the files alone.

As a TDM player: 1. Al Sundan (Action is everywhere) 2. Operation Underground (Would be #1 but too much negative space) 3. Marita (Every route is a viable one. Good action) 4. Mercury (Good action in the middle but snipers on the outsides are annoying af) 5. Lofoten Islands (Meh) 6. Provence (Lanes are too small) 7. Panzerstorm (Fucking terrible for TDM. I used to hate this game. Now I'm at a LOVE/HATE relationship. Sometimes it can be REALLY fun and I'm actually one of the few who likes the cosmetic customization. But other times, it makes me want to rip my hair out and slam my head against the wall. I still prefer BF4, BF3, and BF1 but I do still have fun with this. I actually do hope they add this amount of soldier customization to the next game.

Best looking map is Merkury in my opinion. The dlc Map I spent the most time however is Marita. Don't know exactly why, it has a very special charm for me, the small roads up to the hill, the lightning... I would like to went there on vacation.

Post launch maps have their stength in mostly one or two game in modes. For breakthrough, Conquest and squad Conquest i Would rank them as the following: Breakthrough: 1. Al sundan (best breakthrough map in bf v) 2. Operation underground (attacker need good Teamwork) 3. Marita (well designed for breakthrough) 4. Mercury (sniper on hills and wide open spaces lower my enjoyment) 5. Panzerstorm (first stage is a joke. The other stages are ok) Conquest:(the opposite Ranking) 1. Panzerstorm (very good Balance for a Tank focussed map, totally oldskool bf vibes here) 2. Mercury (Solid small map for pilots, Tank drivers and cqc) 3. Marita (quite linear, but i Like the Focus on infantry and the possibility to break through the frontlines to capture flags from behind to turn the tides 4. Operation underground (too many choke points jam the flow. Its just not a good 64 Player Conquest map.) 5. Al sundan (quite the opposite to Operation underground. Player dont know how to play this quite tactical, slower paced map and constantly leaving the server, so nobody has fun playing it. Very sad. Squad Conquest: 1. Mercury (Very good Implementation, vehicle gameplay buffs the experience) 2. Al sundan (i love the vertical cqc gameplay on this map) 3. Lofoten Islands (perfect use of tactical destruction and Cover buildung, good Overall gameflow) 4. Provence (solid urban gameplay. A bit too many of these highly covering bushes) 5. Marita (good map, but the visibility problems on this map lower the experience)

What lets down all the TDM and Squad DM maps is that they're way to big for that little of players. Nothing like cramming 48-64 players in a BF4 TDM map with 1000 tickets!
