I agree, but to me, Paula was better overall than Danny. I liked Danny a lot, but to my eyes, Paula seemed unchallenged the entire season. It just seemed like HK was too easy for her so I saw her in the finals early. Danny had some competition and hick-ups on the Blue Team. I thought Robert and him were going to be the last of the Blue Team. Unfortunately Robert got sick.

Heather imo was the only chef from s2 who was deserving of a spot in the finale. I’d argue Keith as well, but considering his poor attitude and leadership along with Virginia’s inconsistency, I’d crown Heather the winner right then and there

Keith was never going to beat Heather, and I think everyone knows that much. But considering how dominant he was up until the F3, I think he at least deserved the honor of making it to the finals over Virginia. Served Raw showed that he wasn't even feeling well during the F3 service, so I feel like he should've gotten a bit of leniency there, since that was his first major screw up compared to Virginia's hundredth. Also, his attitude honestly wasn't that bad imo, it never got in the way of his performance and was nowhere near as bad as folks like Russell, Elise, Tiffany, or Robyn. I feel like Gordon just didn't gel with him and the producers didn't want him in the final for whatever reason, maybe he didn't look the part compared to Virginia

Actually if look at it through a different lens, Jon really did win season 11 as Jan’el couldn’t take the job due to failing a drug test and Mary was the runner up, and Jon did get a head chef position under Ramsey. So in reality, Jon was the real winner of season 11. Also I think you should rank all the winners next, then all the runner ups after that

One thing I find annoying is when they make the winner clear by giving the eventual runner-up the Purple Edit. They did that with Benjamin on All-Stars, making what could’ve been a villain redemption storyline into having him be the Purple Kelly of All-Stars. Then they focused a lot on Trenton on Young Guns, all while Megan was the Purple Kelly of that cast. And they kinda did that to Dafne this recent season too, barely featuring her until she made it to the Black Jackets and eventually the finale with Alex on Battle of the Ages.

@@nachoalvarez7171 Tbf the only reason Holli won season 7 is because Jay, at the time, kept mentioning he wanted to sleep with her, which, I guess, irritated Ramsay a lot so instead of handing Jay his obvious win, he handed it to Holli. It's also interesting to know that Holli didn't get the job after winning due to visa issues, she still excepted her cash prize and the title of HK winner, while Jay became so successful after season 7, to the point that he's working with Ramsay alongside Christina right now.

Jason went from not making it to dinner service on Season 9 due to being dehydrated to be the runner up on Season 12 while Scott who mostly being the punching bag of his teams either in Blue Team and Red Team and mostly by Anton and Joy won the season.

I think the thing that still makes me call Season 17 my least favorite final 2 was just, how transparently rigged the entire competition felt that season. One could honestly make the argument she shouldn't've even made black jackets. But nope, Gordon for some reason couldn't do team transfers this season and couldn't get rid of Elise either, and so just made up bs excuse after bs excuse to send the blue team members home over and over despite objectively performing better in virtually every service in the season.

Also, the Red Team Season 17 totally sucks as they lost a lot of challenges and too much arguments between Michelle, Barbie and Elise. I'd prefer Jennifer to make it to Black Jacket over Michelle because Jennifer has been consistent since Day One on All Stars while Michelle makes a lot of mistakes including sabotage Manda who has celliac disease to serve raw pasta twice and also her disastrous performance on charity night and makes Barbie snaps, "HOW ABOUT YOU GIVE ME YOUR SPINACH, MICHELLE!"

I hope they're able to do another All-Stars at some point, because I can see them learning from the mistakes of the previous All-Stars season and making a killer season. I mean, the first All-Stars season of Drag Race is considered one of their worst (due in large part to the nonsensical pairs twist), but they bounced right back by having All-Stars 2 be one of their all-time greatest seasons. Maybe that can happen with HK.

Now that I finished season 22, I would say Ryan and Johnathan take #1. Not only are both skilled chefs with great backstories, but both have an amazing friendship and chemistry that feels good to watch on TV. I have never seen such dynamic in Hell’s Kitchen history. Season 22 is definitely one of the better recent seasons

The top 2 of season 5 and 6 are the kind of top 2 that either the door opened, we would have a well deserved winner nonetheless, because they're really neck and neck to each other. While most of the top 2 has an obvious stronger one compared to the other, these 2 finalists are equally strong and we don't know who's gonna win because they're both strong, consistant and dominant throughout their competitions.

Season 12 was pretty close. Has Jason been more assertive in handling Sandra he may have won. Airel definitely had a tough fight with Mia. But sge definitely got redemption. If Meghan wasn't so dominant, 14 would be closer than we thought. Paula and Danny were the closest by far easy to love it

Jason has a hot-temper attitude, he easily got upset and yelled at people at times, which could be a problem if he won the season. Scott, on the other hand, had one of the greatest comeback story the show ever has, from a punching bag of both blue and red teams, almost got eliminated at final 6 had Kashia not so crashed and burned that week and probably being seen as one of the weakest black jacket chef in HK's history to be the strongest leader and vocal in the kitchen, which led him winning the season.

I feel like a lot of people don’t realise that Gordon’s decision on who gets eliminated isn’t on a pure basis of who is making the most mistakes and he considers a lot of things. That being if he sees potential for them to grow and fight back and fill in the gaps of what they need to learn by progressing further in the competition and theres lots of examples that show it. Obviously Virginia for example was really inconsistent but with the early casts all severely lacking in experience and her having said in a video on her channel that they were not being given sufficient time and training to learn the menu Gordon kept her because he saw potential for her to learn from her mistakes and grow the further she went which I feel she definitely did over time. He got rid of Keith because his attitude was hindering his performance and wouldn’t be prepared to learn and listen and didn’t do well running the pass.

Goes without saying, but it goes without saying that Heather versus Virginia is without a doubt the single most lopsided finale in the show's history and will most likely remain the most lopsided finale in the show's history. Heather in particular probably had an objectively top five greatest finale performance in Hell's Kitchen history while Virginia did as Virginia does and crashed and burned.

Final 2 My honest takes; 1 - My heart would've wanted Elsie to be there, but Michael and Ralph were the clear top two, so it was the right call. 2 - I still would argue that Keith deserved that spot over Virginia, but there was no doubt that Heather would've still won. 3 - Again, heart would've wanted Julia to be there, though it was clear from the get go that Rock was going to win. Bonnie was a great underdog though. 4 - Petrozza really deserved that win, honestly. Nothing against Christina, but I feel that Petrozza was the notably stronger of the two. I'd argue that Corey was a bit more deserving to be in the final two than Christina. 5 - 100% the right call on both Danny and Paula. One of the strongest finales, where you really could've flipped a coin on who would've won, and no-one would've blamed you. 6 - My favourite final two. Dave and Kevin are two of the greatest chefs ever on the show, and though I was super happy for Dave winning, I wouldn't have blamed anyone for wanting Kevin to win. 7 - Definitely a dark horse final two. Whilst arguably the right call, Holli is one of the more forgotten winners. Jay should've won. 8 - Jillian *should've absolutely been in the final two.* Jillian's pass performance I feel wasn't significantly worse enough to have lost out that spot to the very inconsistent Nona. Woulkd've made for a more satisfying finale for it to have been JIllian to have taken down Russell. 9 - Arguably the right call? Tommy and Elise had no chance to get in, Jennifer could've potentially made it in had it not been for *that situation*. 10 - Christina was definitely going to win, you could tell.. but Justin was the right choice for being in that final two. 11 - Initially when I wrote this comment, I maintained than Jon should've made the final, but upon reflection months later, I've come to understand based upon his poor pass performance. THAT BEING SAID... I feel that his performance throughout the season was still strong enough that he should've been largely considered for that finale spot. Especially if you consider where he's at now, and having appeared during the finales of Season 21 and 22. 12 - My heart definitely would've wanted Rochelle to be in the final alongside Scott, but Jason also deserved to be in the final two. 13 - La Tasha was the clear winner early on.. but I would've put Sade in place of Bryant. 14 - T and Meghan were practically a shoe-in right from the get go, but Meghan was just such a raw talent that it was clear she was going to win. 15 - I debate at times on whether or not I would've swapped Kristin with Ashley. Ariel begrudgingly would've still been there. 16 - I.. actually don't think Heather was very popular with a lot of fans. It should've been Ryan and Heidi. Again would've made for a more interesting dynamic. 17 - *NICK. SHOULD'VE. WON.* There's a reason him being eliminated by a NON-chef is an incredibly sour note for the majority of us HK fans. 18 - Had Motto not decide to take himself out of the competition, I would've wanted him to be in the finals with Ariel. Would've made for a closer final, though Ariel would've still likely won. 19 - Honestly, you could've taken ANYONE from the final *FOUR* into the finals and I wouldn't have blamed you. Would've preferred Declan over Kori, but Kori and Mary-Lou still made sense. 20 - Arguably the right call with both Megan and Trenton. Heart would've loved to see Steve bounce back and make that surprise run however. 21 - Nothing against Dafne whatsoever, but I think Alejandro would've made for a better choice to go alongside Alex. 22 - Had this list been made after this season, I suspect the final two of Johnathan and Ryan would've ranked absolutely high if not Top 5. An incredibly strong final two.

The younger and female chefs have an advantage over the older and/or male chefs when it comes to choosing the winner. Gordon has said before that he finds young female chefs to be some of the best at running a kitchen. Would explain Michelle winning over Benjamin, and Christina winning over Petrozza. The male chef could be better, but he just gives it to the female chef. Literally only reason to explain why Michelle, a young, incredibly inconsistent female chef with few good services (especially on a fucking All Stars season), won over Benjamin, an older better male chef, and Nick, a young male chef who is one of the best contestants performance wise that Hell's Kitchen has ever seen

​@@thewhambamKevin had grown extremely successful in the time between S6 and S18, and wasn't as motivated to win this time. He also mistakenly thought he was supposed to be in All-Stars, and didn't want to be in Rookies v. Veterans. He returned to compete against the S10 black jackets for one of the services though, and not only was he flawless, but he also saved Jay from sinking. So he does still have it in him, he just didn't care in S18. As for T, I think her ego got the best of her. She was incredible in S14 and probably assumed that alone would carry her through the competition

My top 5 final 2: 5. S19-Kori and Mary Lou (most beloved two in the series) 4. S14-Meghan and T (obviously Meghan dominated this season at every turn; T remains the greatest chef to never win HK) 3. S10-Christina and Justin (While Christina is overrated to most by this point, no can deny she's a powerhouse as the red team Sous chef on the show) 2. S5-Danny and Paula (the most dominant chefs up to that point; could've been the case in S2 if Keith was in the finale alongside Heather, tho) 1. S6-Dave and Kevin (suffering injuries mere days into the competition only to end up in the finale, while still pretty obvious in hindsight, they were more than deserving of the title Battle of the Goliaths; not to mention iconic) HM for final 2: S9-Paul and Will (while pretty dominant in their own rights, they just ruined it for me when they backstabbed Jennifer in the final five. Yikes! I'm clearly not the only one) S12-Jason and Scott ( It's good seeing Jason getting another shot three seasons after being med-evac in S9 only to crush it during every service and then some; Scott, meanwhile, had a pretty bumpy road throughout but definitely made it worth the comeback. I just wished Joy hadn't quit during the final five, considering she was the frontrunner)

Just don't get me started on those two wanting to put up Rochelle for elimination because she wanted to start a family. Like, really? Putting contestants up for elimination other than performance, to me, hasn't died and it's just petty at every turn. I mean, even with the most recent seasons, they weren't immune to putting up anyone for dubious purposes. If anything, Kashia being sent home after the first Black Jacket service might have been foreshadowing regarding the next episode, when Joy finally made her exit during the final five service. Simply, wow. Her title as the frontrunner was already dead in the water long before the Black Jackets, in hindsight. Thank you for your response.

S1 finale NEEDS to be ranked higher. It gave us Michael’s iconic sabotage, Andrew’s mini-redemption arc, Dewberry making both Chef Ramsay AND Scott laugh! But the best moment of all was Michael’s out of nowhere line: “You guys cook like old people f*ck” arguably the greatest line in HK history!

Also, Mia mostly good at challenges but suck at dinner services because her job was Private Chef so she must be not used to work with other people. And she put Puerto Rican dishes on her finale menu as she is Puerto Rican descendant and makes her team confused of what her menu is supposed to be. Ariel in the other hand is very consistent since Day One and barely makes mistakes throughout the competition. She's the only veteran who is consistent.

Scott and Jason are my all time favorite finalist pair. Season 12 overall was my favorite HK season of all time. Entertaining variety of contestants, entertaining dinner services, entertaining Ramsey outbursts, entertaining plot twists, entertaining personalities... but most importantly, we got an awesome comeback winner who came from rock bottom. I also loved the runner up who seems to get over hated in my opinion. Jason may be a bit cocky but he's definitely fun to watch and he's certainly no Russell.

So what you don’t know- I was working for GR at Caesar’s and asked to do all stars-conflict of interest. I was also asked to do chopped and due to working for Caesar’s since Ariel got fired within 6 months it didn’t work out. I worked for Caesar’s for 4 years and mgm for 3 years. I worked-all the other “winners” leave, give up or can’t hang. Trenton was my sous chef. Do your research.
