Ranking Every Flash Cameo From Worst to Even Worse

The Flash is a pretty divisive movie, some people seem to love it, some seem to hate it but if there’s anything we can all agree on it’s that the cameos specifically were not great and in fact I think some of them go beyond that into uncomfortable and maybe even immoral territory. Now, with The Flash having come out in home media, I thought it would be a
fun idea to look at every cameo in The Flash movie of which there just so happens to be 10 and rank them from best to worst or in better terms: the least bad to the most disgusting.

*Titans* did it better IMHO, loved the Stargirl cameo in particular, but the ones from The Flash movie were enjoyable (Nic Cage's Superman fighting Kevin Smith's giant spider was something I've been needing for so long). Also this year, the only good episode of the TV show season 9 of the Flash was the crossover _"It's my party and I'll die if I want to"_ , which was an excellent Flash/Green Arrow & Diggle crossover, with Bloodwork coming back as the villain of the week (looking pretty sharp in his monster form, even better than before) (That season also had a *Supergirl* crossover, with Dreamer showing up for one lame episode that I couldn't even sit through... such a waste of time for the last season of a show about Barry, with fewer episodes than usual, to waste an entire one on Dreamer in which Barry had 30 seconds of screen time) And of course, back in 2019/2020, we got treated to one badass crossover filled with awesome cameos, the Arrowverse *Crisis on Infinite Earths* , which gave us so much content...

They could've easily done something great for Donner's Superman, Brandon Routh already looks a lot like Chris Reeve, and I've seen deepfakes of Routh's KC Superman with Reeve's face and it looks miles better than whatever the hell they did here. Brandon Routh and a de-aged Helen Slatter would've made the cameo so much better than just have rushed CGI models stand in there.

Not having grants flash is quite possibly the dumbest decision ever made my WB and that’s saying a lot, it was easiest the biggest opportunity to to boost sales and hype it genuinely confuses me why he wasn’t in there, I’m sick of them wasting Wonder Woman when theirs so much untapped potential with the character it pisses me off to see it wasted with these cheap 1 minute cameos where she pops up and disappears out of nowhere. The Aquaman end credit scene also pissed me off, they had a chance to explain the new DC reboot but instead wasted it on a non funny cringe drunk joke that just continues to make these iconic characters look more like jokes In a vacuum the movie is good but when you see the potential and what it was supposed to do for the DC universe tv and movies alike, it’s such a huge disappointment when all the tools were there, classic DC

And, there's a difference between Christopher Reeves and Nicholas Cage; the latter never actually happened, so it would be little more than an Easter egg (regardless of Cage). And, what about the Jay Garrick we saw? Not one that we've seen before (certainly not Teddy Sears' Zoom), so it would be neither legendary nor relevant, but utterly meaningless.

It bothers me that this movie focused so much on Batman and Superman stuff and basically disregarded the fact that it was supposed to be a Flash movie. I understand if they wanted to save Thawne for later, but why did the plot have to be focused on Zod? Especially considering the presence of multiple Batmen, Supermen, and Supergirls, did they really have to make a Superman villain the focus of the plot?

The younger Barry was the villain in the movie. He was the one to kick the older Barry out of the speedforce prematurely. Then went on to try and change the timeline, coming close to destroying the multiverse. He might have been the one to stab his mom in the first place just to make the older Barry go back to try and stop it. Causing a time loop.

i will say this, from all the cameos, the least agregious one was the C. Reeves one. they didnt show him in any unflatering way, and the cg was the best out all of them. he doesnt really act, so it fit more as a homage... same with the supergirl besides him. if he was still alive, i know he would be honored to be represented in the movie like that.

unpopular opinion: Characters from the arrowverse appearing in The Flash at all makes the movie worse, especially Grant Gustin's flash, because then I would be forced to remember how terrible the show was.

Fun fact: Nicolas Cage said that he was on set for 2 hours and they just wanted him to "pretend he is witnessing the end of the universe" so he was really surprised they got him fighting a spider while de-aging him. So while people might hate him for doing the part, he really had no idea about the final cut.

Saying those old actors are not relevant is so wrong. How old is this person - 12? George Reeves played Superman at a time when TV was a new thing and every family watched the same channel, daily. More than 30-40 million homes would watch Superman on TV. Adam West's Batman was on cable almost continuously until the late '90s, almost worldwide. and don't even get me started on how iconic Chris Reeve is. Most consider him to be the ONLY true Superman portrayal. These new actors have come and gone, in what, less than a decade? SMH.

This was rendered quickly with a low budget. Damn they truly messed the animation up. The mistake on the S was probably a polygon mistake, where vertices weren't aligned correctly. They so badly trying to beat Marvel's multiverse

He saw this move and the first to things he said to me about it was, should have had Harley Quinn in it and is the nic cage superman a real thing? To which I had to explain why that’s in the movie. I disagree about the Nicholas Cage cameo tbh, not about the CGI I agree that is abysmal but the actual cameo itself I liked mainly because it finally allowed Cage to fulfil a lifelong dream of playing the character on screen in some capacity with his likeness, maybe Superman Lives might’ve sucked but to me as someone who’s known about this never made movie I’m glad he appeared but yeah the CG especially used on him was completely unnecessary

Here's my alternate take on this scene: The Red universe should be the Smallvilleverse where we here a quote from Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor or someone as the camera passes it. I think the George Reeves universe should have been replaced with the Flash 1990 universe (this time a Sea Blue coloured sphere to match the visuals of the show or maybe crimson red), zoom in onto a Superman of that universe (Gerard Christopher or Dean Cain maybe) or someone else then we see a young John Wesley Shipp running in the Chronoball instead. Then replace the Donnerverse with the Arrowverse (dark green sphere to match Arrow which began that universe) where we see Gustin make his cameo maybe with Melissa Benoist's Supergirl next to him staring at the portal thing. Instead of the Dozierverse (Adam West Batman Universe), we could get the Nolanverse (a greyish, whitish sphere), hearing one of Hardy's Bane's lines then hear Bale's Batman's "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you" while seeing a pose of his Batman gliding or Ledger's "C' mon I want you to hit me" while Bale could be frozen on the Batpod. If not the Nolanverse (I can see Bale and Nolan not wanting this to be shown) then maybe the Schumacherverse (this time a bright green sphere) especially as Clooney makes a cameo anyways. There's plenty of quotable moments and shows even the shitty DC products are apart of the DC multiverse and will be acknowledged... Idk. Then the Nic Cage Superman cameo can continue as normal this time in a Blackish Greyish Blueish universe to match the Burtonverse. Makes sense for it to be in the Burtonverse as Superman Lives was gonna be a Burton project. So there you go, Shipp and Gustin could've been in this scene so Muschetti is full of shit. Love this scene though using CGI to bring deceased actors back to life is pretty messed up, especially for George Reeves. Seeing more recent takes on these characters make it way more recognizable for modern, mainstream audiences.

To answer your question in 12:14 on why this movie uses old cameos from actors from the 50s-70's instead of alive ones? its easy, money. These iconic actors are dead and its cheaper to pay a fee to their surviving families (if they don't like, George Reeves, it costs studios nothing to be able to abuse their image in these films) compared to paying a live actor a day's worth of film plus having their input towards the making of the film. This film's budget was around 300 million without marketing included, so I imaged the studio was finding corners to cut near the end of production judging by the awful CGI in this movie.

Its impressive that someone misses the point so much. The cameo for superman were done with the permission of the families for those who are no longer with us and as for cage he a huge superman fan and it's a nod to the canceled superman lives movie. As for the batman hood without ears its not a mistake and they did their homework since this was a version that was tossed around during his creation but never made it to the public. The style is something of a miss though and one wonders what he was thinking.

Damn right, Adam West' last role was an elaborate Batmanesque cameo in the show *Powerless* as "Chairman Dean West" in _Win, Luthor, Draw_ , the penultimate episode of the show, in 2017. The show was such a bust with the audience that they originally didn't even bother releasing the last 3 episodes of season 1... but when Adam West passed away a short time later, they ended up releasing "his" episode online for free. West's other 2017 role was in the fantastic *Batman vs Two-Face* movie, as a huge Harvey Dent fanboy that movie quickly became a favorite of mine, even if watching if posthumously added a sad edge to the whole experience...
