The theory with Corsola and Mareanie is interesting and also applies. But it's not the real reason. It's about pollution and how chemicals kills coral in our oceans. Britain is full of pollution and Galar is based on it,so it's also interpreted as Corsola's literally DYING there,which makes them a Ghost Type.

well tbh people have gotten sick of the special treatment given to charizard, granted he is my least favourite pokemon of all time so it's obvious why i felt that there wasnt really a need to give zard a g-max form (say what you want about Pikachu but he is the series mascot so him getting another form wasn't that surprising to me)

I mean I wouldn't say their personal favorites I think they do it to keep the older audience (the ones who grew up playing the original games) in tac if all the newer Pokémon got different forms most people who only remember the old ones won't understand what's going on. Also I mean you gotta face it gen 1 Pokémon are way more popular among the series and I'm not even saying this out of love for gen 1 cause I grew up playing the Sapphire and Ruby games and Zangoose has always been my favorite but be real with me if you were to go up to someone who barely knows anything about Pokémon and you say name one their gonna say Pikachu or Charizard, Meowth, ect. So I think it's not just about Gamefreak's own love but maybe about making themselves look better to people who never even played the games which I think is stupid overall. (so in short I feel like the special treatment is stupid but they may have more of a reason of doing it then just liking them)

Yeah, animating hair, fur, and feathers are not one of gamefreak’s strong suit. That’s why most Pokémon that have these traits look smooth. Like pikachu and lucario for example. And after seeing rapidash, I’m kinda glad they are that way.

My favorite galarian form is Runerigus. I love how it’s based on norse rune stones. I also love how dark it is that the yamask is absorbed and killed by the rune when it becomes Runerigus.

I thought Darmanitan was interesting; according to the Pokédex, it became an ice type because its flame sac atrophied. So when it enters its Zen Mode, it ironically and literally becomes so angry its flame sac reignites.

I think i'm gonna cry if they don't make regional forms in the next game/s. I'm a bit afraid you know because the mega evolutions was simply the best thing to ever happen in pokemon technique-wise and they only kept doing mega evolutions 2 times: 1 in XY and 1 in ORAS and then they dropped the megas. Now i'm a bit scared the same will happen to the regional forms because now we got them 2 times in a row (in alola and in galar). I really hope they don't drop this one because regional forms are AMAZING !!

Plus we don't know if they actually dropped Megas, it is quite possible that they will return in new game or sinnoh remakes

I haven't really warmed up to Galarian Meowth yet (I like Gigantamax Meowth though), but I really like all the other regional variants and I think they actually improve on the original form. My personal favorites are Linoone, Weezing, and Sirfetched. I know that the last one hasm't changed much appearance-wise, but I like that they finally gave Farfetch'd a chance. Plus it's one of the only Fighting-types I actually like. I agree; I love Ponyta, but Rapidash is kinda disappointing. If they'd given it a final evo that looked like a pegasus it'd be 10x cooler.

I think the community overhyped Galarian Rapidash before its reveal. Everyone was hoping for a winged horse design but I wasn't keen on the idea. Personally I really like Galarian Rapidash's design. The hair reminds me of Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and I really like the colours. The only thing I wish it got was a signature move based around a unicorn's horn.

I actually love the idea that Meowth has multiple variations since it can imply that meowth is so famous? in lore that a lot of people has one which changed its form overtime depending on which region they are in, like in real world, theres alot of different cat breed, I DO HOPE that everu region from now on Meowth will get a new form and i think it would be crazy if ONE pokemon only gets 2 different forms, like... are there jo chances for more other Pokes to migrate to other parts ofthe world? thats why i like what theyre doing to meowth

I also find Galarian Rapidash a little disappointing, but not because of its mane. Everyone points to the mane as a weak spot, but the big thing that lets me down about it is that it's not a Pegasus. I was expecting a Fairy-type Pegasus Pokemon for Galarian Rapidash, and we only got half of that. Come on, Game Freak, when are we getting a Pegasus Pokemon? Also, I would put Galarian Meowth and Perrserker at the bottom; Perrserker has a cool origin, but there is no reason for Galarian Meowth to exist. With a slight design change, Perrserker easily could've been the evolved form of a different cat Pokemon. And yeah, what everyone else said: Galarian Corsola is a reference to climate change raising the acidity of the oceans and bleaching coral.

My problem with Galarian Rapidash is that the face looks like it was drawn by Matt Groening. Look at it’s face vs the characters Simpsons or Fururama or Disenchanted and you’ll see what I mean. Galarian rapidash definitely looks like toothpaste. I was excited for ponyta except for 3 things. It's terrible waste of time reveal (which they fucked up and didnt give one a tail btw... 24 hours and they couldnt even get its 5 second actual reveal properly) the terrible typing choice of psychic instead of fairy for ponyta, and rapidash looking just underwhelming.

Galarian Rapidash was a huge letdown because of what it could have been. England, the birthplace of the unicorn myth, it's links to heraldry, how much they altered ponyta's galar form, they could've done so much for galarian Rapidash. Many hoping it'd be an alicorn, or a selkie, or make it more glosely resemble the english coat of arms by adding the goat bear and slenderer legs and lion tail, dual fire/fairy type...They could have done so much and instead they just make it's hair tubular. I really liked original ponyta and really looked forward to see what they would do. When they went with the plainest most unimaginative design possible, i knew this was going to be a bad generation.
