I would also suggest space type be weak to poison, using a war of the worlds perspective. The idea is that “alien” or “cosmic” beings would not have the immune system to fight off our planet’s infections, viruses, and diseases, all of which I would consider some kind of poison. Unless.....hmm, maybe a disease type Pokémon?

Would love to see a beast or feral type too. Something to split the amount of normal types in the games. The idea being that normal types that are predators would get this type, while prey animals/docile creatures would remain normal.

What do you think about a new Rubber type which is opposite of steel?? Its a electricity and heat insulator. Also its so flexible and cant be broken. So It will resist Electricity, Steel, Fighting, Rock, Fire and Ice. Rubber is also near to Sponge, Jelly, Spring, Foams. There are some rubberlike pokemons too like Woffbuffet, Grumpig, Jellicent, spoink, Ditto, Swalot etc. Rubberlike things are very common in our life. Rubber will be strong against Electricity, Ground and Sound. Electricity will finally get 2nd weakness. Ground becoz we clean dirts with rubberlike things.

We do have a digital type... it’s electric. If you want to be technical, then it would electric/steel as a digital or binary signal is simply an electric current flowing through a circuit whose binary value is determined based on whether the signal has a high voltage or a low voltage (ie. 15V and 0V respectively). As for a “virtual” Pokémon, it would again have electric as it’s primary typing, but with ghost as a likely secondary one. Electric is self explanatory and the ghost type would be a result of virtual memory simply being a simulated representation of the amount of data a computer has access to at any given time (This isn’t a very accurate way to describe it, but that would take more words than a KZbin comment allows). This simulation can then be thought of as an illusion, hence the ghost typing (The dark type could also work but I think it would make less sense than ghost in this case).

@hat Nope. Do you have any logic? Rubber is more available in our daily life. Rubber also represents Tires, Sponge, jelly spring, whip coz they all are flexible like rubber. Rubber is an material like thing. I also support Rubber coz its completely opposite of Steel like how Fire opposite to Ice(hot & cold), Psychic opposite to fighting(mind vs muscle), Dark vs Fairy (Devil vs angels). There are also enough Rubber like pokemons for example: Ditto, Wobbuffet, Wynout, Spoink, Grumpig, Lickitung, Jellycent, Swalot, Gulpin etc. Its a flexible and unbreakable type that resists hard strong material types. Rubber also electricity insulator. So Electric type will get a new weakness which was highly needed. Rubber will resist Fighting, Rock, steel, electric, Sound, Water. Otherhand, Cosmic means universe or space. You cant say any pokemon that he is made by Cosmic. Also Cosmic has less relation with other types...I mean giving strength, weakness to cosmic is hard enough. We dont know any behaviour of Alien. And cosmic is mainly related to legends.

Dark is demoic coz in japanese dark is evil type. Nuclear is a lot similar to Poison type. I think only Sound and Rubber is most logical to become new types. And Food, Cosmic at thr second place.

Here are some digital type move ideas Digital vision: alters the opposing Pokemon's vision, making it pixelated. Reduces accuracy. Compcell: Traps the opposing Pokemon in a computer for three turns. They can escape if they use the computer breaker item (an item that is added to counter this move). Binary edit: adds a random stat to a random Pokemon (Both on the field and in your team). Effects can be applying for a status move, increasing or decreasing stats, changing the generation (Pokemon that don't exist in older generations won't be deleted, instead they will be changed to a sprite made for them, and the moves effect changes to the generation) Digital Destruction: Deals large damage These are all that I got

Beldum should have a Galarian Digital/Psychic form, one where the Meta in Metagross stands for meta instead of metal, and the design of the Pokemon should look a bit more like how you'd represent data physically in a lot of media if you know what I mean. It wouldn't be a solid Pokemon, but instead, its body would be some polygons floating around its red eye like clusters (in a similar shape to the original Beldum, of course). I can imagine it looking really sick once it evolves into Metagross. Digital/Psychic would be a cool type combination to represent data and a more software-oriented Digital type, instead of a hardware-oriented one.

in my region, ferar, i have two new types. energy, and... light. but my light type is different in a way. its light in the way dark is. it refers to both actual light, and being more kindly. its also follows the "psychic is weak to common fears" in the opposite way. if against a light type, a psychic pokemon sp. def will lower, because its comforted by light. also, light and dark have a dragon to dragon kind of relationship.

Definitely Cosmic-type is the next way to go. 18 types then maybe a Cosmic typing resisting Fairies, Dark, Rock, Bug, Poison, Normal and Ice but being weak to 'standard' planetary elements such as Fire, Ground and Water would be fascinating. Here's an idea: primal type, this type would be represented to base all prehistoric pokemon, which means this could be a great type replacement for rock on all of the fossil pokemon, and its weaknesses would be: Rock (because a meteor is what killed the dinosaurs) Poison (poison will kill a dinosaur) Ice (ice age) It would be strong against: Normal (a creature with big teeth vs a basic person) Bug (how would a small bug defeat a large meat eating dino, even if it wasn't a meat eater it could easily stomp the bug out) It would be resistant against: Water (prehistoric animals can live in water too lol) Flying (same situation with water) This could also be a good typing for some pokemon who are somewhat dinosaur like.

When I was in high school and was writing my own pokemon fanfic, I created the DINOSAUR type. It was meant to be the arch rival to Dragon types, and even the new grass starter would eventually evolve to be a grass/dinosaur type. Dinosaur types wouldn't be weak to fairy types like Dragon types, but they both share the same ice type weakness. Dragons would also be weak to Psychic types (because I was thinking of Deoxys being in a meteorite, and of course meteors killed off dinosaurs). Dinosaurs and Dragons do mutual damage to each other, and they also have their most powerful move, "Jarassic Meteor," which of course is the counter to Draco Meteor. I also thought about maybe the 8th gym being two gym leaders in a double battle format where one has a team of dragon types, while the other has dinosaur types. Some of the older pokemon I thought could fit the dinosaur typing were Nidoking/Nidoqueen, Kantonian Cubone and Marowak (or maybe a new region variant), Tyranitar, majority but NOT ALL of the fossil pokemon, maybe Aggron, and Piloswine and Mamoswine.

I think digital type's matchups would be based on whether the type is physical or a concept Like itd be weak against physical things(steel, rock, etc) but strong against things that are more conceptual(like electric, flying, sound, etc)

The digital type is a good idea but you can’t cast away the light type with that logic. Imagine the things you could do with it! Like a rainbow castform! And fairy types are usually involved in general folklore, but imagine an angel Pokémon (like a throne angel or seraphim) based off the light type! An Angler fish, or An ice/light type aurora Pokémon, or a northern star!

Well dark to shine a light on the darkness plus it is said to used to scare away ghosts. And fire and electric can resist light type too. It will also resist itself. That and i think light type can not be affected by fighting, how can you fight light?

@@psychigoat3873 Eevee evloves in relation to its environment to help or assist itself. Being dark type may assit in it being more aggressive and have a bad nature a not necessarily evil also umbreon embodies that of the night time that side of the darkness as well. In regards to Houndour it pokedex enties make it seem as though it is still rather cunning to hunt despite wotking in a group. That cunning asspwct may be the reason why its dark.

“Artificial type” could represent digital, plastic, and inorganic pokemon like trubbish, porygon, and other pokemon. It could be good against electric type, maybe water type, grass type, Ice, and lastly… fairy. And it could possibly be weak against fire, dark, fighting, psychic. It could be resistant against poison, as well as steel.
