@@shaokhan4421 Bloodborne is quite different from Elden Ring actually. Elden Ring is much more like the Dark Souls trilogy, especially Dark Souls 3. It's a slower game for the most part, and its open world nature means that you won't ever get in a position where you are stuck against a boss and your only option is to try again and again. It also has a good bit more build variety. On the other hand, Bloodborne is a better paced experience (the price of open world), it rewards aggressive play styles more, and well, it's a completely different setting.

Witcher 3 is a weird mix of very unfun and tedious but also very interesting. The combat is achingly terrible. One of the most frustrating combat systems I've played with. Can't block monsters so you must always dodge them. Group fight happens and they just all rush you, so to avoid getting your health completely ravaged you end up having to hit 1 attack then dodge. Basically you're playing dark souls combat but in a game not built for dark souls combat. The only exception is if you have freeze bombs or can whirl for a bit. The soft lock on tracking is annoying since it prevents Geralt from doing other things during combat. The list of combat issues can go on and on but ill jump to other points. Roach, enough said. Fuck that asshole horse. Immersion, I don't feel like a witcher. The gameplay isn't set up in a way where I can be methodical and planning for an encounter except for the extremely obvious ones where Geralt blurts it out loud "an ekimara, a higher vampire" so slap on vampire oil and check the bestiary for other weaknesses. It's just dull. Quests. This game has mostly meh quests, a small amount of bad ones, and a few good quests sprinkled in. Basically any quest revolving around an important female character/love interests are always well done. Hearts of stone as well as blood and wine immediately show that they have improved quest writing, some maim quests are interesting but the main story feels horribly dragged on and boring until the final bits. My last issue is geralt. Completely boring character due to his lack of expression and emotion. The entire game they say witchers are stripped of emotion but that's a lie considering we meet plenty of other witchers in the game that are 10x as expressive as Geralt. And there's no genius character writing reason for his lack of emotion or expression like there is for a character like 2B from NieR:Automata. He feels dull for the sake of dull. All that said I still haven't put the game down because I find the game interesting. It's good at leading me on with small interesting bits here and there. Mostly for its quests. You just never know when you might stumble onto a good quest. Also it helps a ton that I'm playing this game with a rtx 4090 and 13900k. If this game wasn't so pretty thanks to Ray tracing and 4k then I might have dropped it at some point. I played this game when it came out on ps4 and just had to replay it on a high end PC once I got it and I never got to try the dlc before. I think the witcher 3s quality of content is similar to a souls game. All the best stuff is in the dlc, some good stuff here and there in the base game. Solid base, great expansion on that base. I mostly just wish the combat and Roach were fixed, and that it felt more inmersive for being a witcher. It's a very not fun but very interesting game. It's gonna be odd saying when I complete it that I never had fun playing it but I did enjoy my time with it. I also don't hold this against CD projekt red. I played cyberpunk 2077 and even before the all the updates and fixes 2077 was a much better game for role playing and immersion. Quests are amazing too and V isn't a bore. Now after the updates and dlc it's combat is one of the best in all of rpg's and first person games, and the world is disgustingly pretty to look at with pathtracing. Oh and vehicles don't handle like Roach so that makes me very very very happy. Fuck Roach.

Hard no. A "player-driven story" where none of your choices matter and have no impact on the plot. A story with no real ending, literally being worse than the ME3 endings lol. Non-functional multiplayer at launch. The hardest difficult being stupidly easy. 100's of game-breaking bugs, and 1000's of other bugs that noticeably affect gameplay. 1/3 of the game being so poorly optimised it was borderline unplayable for nearly a month after launch. And MONUMENTAL amounts of falsely advertised content that was not in the game at all... It genuinely didn't deserve to win GotY for all of the reasons above, but then again neither did any of the other nominees. BG3 won solely of people's hatred of AAA devs and this being a victory out of spite against them. Also, I think 2 games or even 3 games can be goty at the same time, why does it have to be one? God of war 2018 is not better then red dead. The last of us is not better then gta5.

18:29 Story: The main quest of rescuing Ciri could be seen as a missed opportunity for an open world game. Wow, Geralt, look at this expansive and breathtaking map... BUT HURRY, THEY ARE ABOUT TO KILL HER! But take it easy... why not take a break and play some cards? Why not visit the tavern, share stories, and enjoy the world around you? - BUT HURRY, THEY ARE ABOUT TO KILL HER! Protagonist: Geralt is portrayed as an exceptionally skilled and cool character. Geralt is cool... I wonder if maybe a bit too much. It's common in most role-playing or open world games to start as a nobody and gradually become someone, building and defining your character along the way. This can be a highly satisfying experience. When you envision how you will design and develop your character, and finally witness their full growth, it feels amazing. It reflects all the hours and effort you've invested in the game. However, in The Witcher 3, you begin as Geralt at level 1 with 5 spells and 2 swords, and after countless hours, you end up as Geralt at level 35 with 5 spells and 2 swords. The only difference is that, mysteriously, the first feels ineffective and unable to face any challenges, despite being Geralt of Rivia, the legendary witcher with years of experience. For instance, I can easily defeat a griffin without any issues, but then I enter an area where I supposedly shouldn't be, and a dwarf bandit kills me. At a certain point, you question whether the leveling system was necessary in this game, if it was included simply because other games have it, if it truly aligns with what a witcher is supposed to do and if perhaps they should have focused on depth in other aspects of the game instead. Inventory and Rewards: I'll be clear: On which planet, in which corner of the known universe, is the inventory system in this game considered acceptable? How many crafting materials does Geralt carry? I often find myself not knowing what half of the items I take are for. Does the game genuinely expect me to have the energy to read and learn the purpose of each item? Instead of being a game with 5 significant options, it presents us 100, and in the end, I find myself performing the same actions in every battle. As for the open world... Rather than exploring by gazing at the horizon, I'm constantly guided by a minimap with markers indicating where to go.

GOTY rank for me: 1- Baldur's Gate 3 2- The Witcher 3 3- Elden Ring The rest I don't really know. These 3 games, I can replay them multiple times and enjoy them all day long. I would legit spent an entire day playing them. BG3 was exceptional since I immediately jump in for another new run after I beat the 1st run just because I wanna create another character also kinda doubting when people were saying it will be a very different experience each time, like there's no way. But man oh man, am I glad I was wrong(disclaimer: I'm a fan of CRPG, so I'm sure I got a little bit biased there). Elden Ring I played 3 times on different build, but the 1st playthrough was just phenomenal personally. The Witcher 3, is just crazy, I lost count how many time I played that game and it's a long game too. Sekiro, Zelda and Dragon Age Inquisitor, I tried to play twice but I never finish the 2nd run. The rest, I don't know why actually they didn't really grab me, but my guess is, I think maybe because they're just too linear to me. Don't get me wrong, they're still good games, but just simply not for me personally also some of them I kinda think the other nominees should win instead, so.. there's that. @@andrerocha3998 I love TLOU too, even have a tattoo like Ellie :) for me Soulslikes (except Bloodborne) are boring and are a bit like boss fight simulators, And every time I feel like I'm playing the same game sometimes in a different setting. It's a pity that you didn't finish the whole game to understand phenomen, relationship between Geralt and Ciri resembles that of Ellie and Joel. I just think that's it's not fair that you write something like "Huhh? The Witcher? I don't understand how people can like this game, it's boring" If you want to understand the phenomenon of this game you need to play more because this game is huge and has wonderful stories, characters and great world. And I think many players just like me loved exploring, upgrading oils, finding upgrades for potions etc. This is the essence of RPG You'll find similar mechanics in many other RPG games. Besides, it's completely optional no one is forcing you to do it. I absolutely disagree that RPG games are boring, This is a popular and beloved game genre, and to this day many games draw on elements from RPGs such as TLOU, GOW + Dark souls and other from software games are pure RPGs. However, I think that the combat system is a personal preference, The Witcher 3 has a more simplified combat system like in Dark Souls (rolls, light dodges, light blows, strong blows, magic signs) In my opinion it's really okay in such a huge world. Although the game is from 2015 and it is known that some time has passed since the premiere so some elements may have aged a bit. But also this game has elements that created new paths in the industry and will never get old. The Witcher has always had a great story and side stories that are better than main story of many other games, characters, one of the most real, brutal and dark fantasy world without any political correctness.This game was fresh because it didn't tell another cliched story about saving the world and being the only hope in it. You are just a simple witcher in a huge world and you solving your problems, It's more a personal story, a bit like in TLOU or GOW. I could go on and on about why this game is so great, but I recommend just typing "The Witcher 3" on yt and you will find many videos titled "Why The Witcher is the best/my favorite game ever" etc. People will tell you why and give you reasons. I'm sorry but that sounds like coping. No mother is ever going to put her child in danger ESPECIALLY when the stakes are that high in the apocalypse. But I'll tell you why they wrote it this way, it's so people like you can have sympathy for Abby when Ellie inevitably does what she sets out to do. The only thing I enjoyed about tlou2 was the gameplay, but most fans were not there for the gameplay, they were there to see the relationships that were established in tlou1 be built on, not have them completely torn apart to and I quote Neil '' subvert expectations ''. I could genuinely debunk pretty much everything you like about the story and how it was terrible writing. The story is so incredibly predicting, and look I understand that in this day and age we have come to lower our expectations, but for the fans that played the original game on the ps3 it was soulcrushing to watch Naughty dog essentially treat the sequel like the writers of game of thrones did with their last 2 seasons.

I don't know about the unreplayability because I've played god of war at least 7 times and around 4 times with red dead redemption 2 so for me both of them are extremely replayable. RDR2 is a bit more difficult because of how long the story is but they're both replayable.

CEMENT. Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is my favourite game. I have over 500 hours on Steam. Incredible quests, incredible music and very satisfying combat. I’ve got plenty enjoyment from every playthrough. The only bad thing I can say about Witcher 3 is Eredin wasn’t a very compelling villian. And we don’t learn enough about the Wild Hunt considering it’s the game’s namesake. But the DLC’s more than make up for that, with Gaunter O’Dimm and Detlaff being phenomenal game antagonists. Toussaint itself took my breath away. BOTW is also a great game. It’s definitely not perfect. It’s lacking in story, and the bosses in the Divine Beasts weren’t great in my opinion. The combat was good, but I think using the same design for each Divine Beast was a bad decision. And the final battle against Calamity Ganon was very underwhelming. But I still love BOTW, and I could spend days getting lost in Hyrule. TOTK also has its problems, but it did improve on BOTW and I had great time diving into the world again and exploring the two new maps. Especially the Depths. And story was definitely much, much better than BOTW. But if Baldur’s Gate 3 wins GOTY I think it’ll be well-deserved. I’ve heard great things, and I don’t doubt I’ll pick it up at some point and fall in love.

I always get to the battle at kaer mohren and then quit. How close is that to the end
@lyricholmes1827 Жыл бұрын
@@SolareofAstora The Battle at Kaer Morhen is around half-way, if not 2/3 of the way through the main quest. After the Battle you’re hit with a bunch of Ciri related choices which will determine the main ending of the game. If you just want to know what happens I’d recommend Neon Knight’s video “Witcher 3 - Every Choice GERALT Would Make” as it gives a run-down on the entire story with context. After the main game you can head into the Hearts of Stone DLC (which is around 10-20 hours) and then the Blood and Wine DLC (around 30-50 hours.) Hope that helps! ❤️
@SolareofAstora Жыл бұрын
@@lyricholmes1827 definently thanks! No i dont want to know the ending. I will just have to replay. I take it dlc is great?
@lyricholmes1827 Жыл бұрын
@@SolareofAstora the DLC’s are incredible and I can’t recommend them enough! Hearts of Stone is shorter, and takes place in Velen and Novigrad. But it’s suppose to be played first. Whilst Blood and Wine takes place entirely in Toussaint (which is a new map, separate from the main game.) It’s based on France and Italy in design, and has a lot of new side quests and stuff to explore.

For me the biggest robbery in history was overwatch beating dark souls 3 in 2016 and i say this as someone who has been playing overwatch since 2016, overwatch was kind of the first of its kind so yes it was a really good game, but dark souls 3 is incomparable to it.

I'm an old N64 zelda fan. Majoras mask and Ocarina of time were my favorite games back then but I can't stand BOTW 1 or 2. Not of a fan of the direction they went but I understand. Wish they went back to a more dark theme and cool dungeons.
@firenze6478 Жыл бұрын
Your not alone brother. I just wish that the botw fanbase weren’t so toxic. I hate it when they claim that this is the first ‘true’ zelda since zelda nes(they clearly haven’t played it.) or claim the old formula was killing the franchise. ( it was literally beloved and selling better than mario at the time.) Don’t get me wrong, every fanbase has its stinkers, but botw stinkers are as bad as sony elitists
@blucosmic7751 Жыл бұрын
@firenze6478 I agree man the fan base is very immature and delusional. I still play the old zelda games on my steamdeck and recently been playing twilight princess. The games are little outdated but they have so much more soul and intrigue to me. I've also been playing alot of fromsoftware games as they remind me of how zeldas used to be and could've been, instead of these bloated and repetitive open worlds. Glad Tears of the kingdom and spider man 2 didn't get GOTY cause frankly I'm sick and tired of the same old garbage
