In a super vague, 'both movies don't have a serious tone' way I guess I can see where you're coming from but actually looking at both movies...GxK is slop. Awful cinematography that made me feel like I was watching a car commercial half the time. Weightless CGI monster battles with no sense of scale. God awful score by JunkieXL that felt like royalty free knockoffs of pre-existing Godzilla movies. On the other hand, Final Wars has heart to it. The cinematography is super stylized. The human characters are actually memorable and it feels so unique. The monster battles are actually fun to watch and are incredibly memorable with some of the best suitmation in franchise history. The music is god tier with my personal favorite being "Motorcycle Battle" by Keith Emerson. Final Wars also felt like a Godzilla movie while GxK was just a Kong movie featuring Godzilla. Considering this is a Godzilla Movie Tier List, that plays a big factor in it's placement beyond the poor quality.

Godzilla vs hedorah is my one of my favorites, I was terrified of it when I was a boy but over time grew to love it. I think hedorah is one of Godzilla’s toughest monsters he fought and that’s one of the reasons why I like it.

Best thing about the franchise is everyone has their favourites and you see some crazy lists. Im with you on the Astro Monster love, always preferred it to Ghidorah but felt like I am on an island😂 Top 5 would be -1, Gojira, Destoroyah, Against Mechagodzilla and Biollante😊

Here in the UK, they used to put on Godzilla 98 on regular TV all the time for whatever reason. I've seen it a couple times and it's not bad. The problem I have with the movie is that I feel like the movie-makers came up with the idea first, then decided to license the name from Toho and slap it on the movie for profit. It's more or less a remake of The Beast From 20 Thousand Fathoms.... just renamed to "Godzilla". I think the animated series that came after it was better. The soundtrack is awesome though.

In my honest opinion, I feel like Singular Point and the polygon trilogy both would've been better if they were their own things and not Godzilla projects. They remind me of the ladder "Hellraiser" movies, which weren't even meant to be ones yet had Pinhead shoehorned in just so Miramax or Dimension could keep the rights to the series. Obviously I'm not saying that's the case with SP or the trilogy, but that's the vibe they give off imo.

KZbin has a “test & compare” feature where you can make three thumbnails and it tests which one performs the best. There was a showa Godzilla thumbnail, a Kiryu thumbnail, and an Anguirus thumbnail. For some reason, the Kiryu one did the best lol
