100% agree. Honestly, episode 4 just absolutely kills it on pretty much every front. Writing is awesome, Character development is superb, ship fodder (who's gonna say no), and the message is just so well-delivered. The fact that the most depressing song of the season (imo) is a fucking up-tempo hyper pop song that then transitions into a subversive, slower jazz number that ends up being arguably the most uplifting song in the whole show is just so good. And I think Loser, Baby is perfectly placed too. It doesn't really wrap up anyone's story arcs, but it sets a new beginning for both Angel and Husk late enough into the season where we know who they are and that it doesn't have to be resolved in just one season, while also early enough to not get in the way of the whole war arc and the stuff with Lucifer/Charlie and Charlie/Vaggie. I could go on more, but it would only get more senseless than this ramble already is. TL;DR Loser, Baby is brilliant and so is episode 4 as a whole.

I know! And I love how both songs subvert the superficial tones they give off. Poison breaks your heart but is an up-tempo pop song, where as Loser, Baby is a super heartwarming piece that sounds like it's gonna be some depressing blues/jazz number. Episode 4 is just such a good turning point for Angel's arc and a fantastic catalyst for Husk's. You get someone barreling towards their breaking point and being absolutely devastated and wrecked, only to find comfort in someone who's been at their lowest for a while and them coming together to help each other improve. It's super sweet and powerful.

A thing I like about Loser, Baby is that while I do think this works as a "feel-good" song, unlike others where it's just saying "don't lose hope" or "follow your dreams", this one is saying, "You know what? You are a loser, but everyone feels that way, and it's nice to know you're not the only one," which to me feels like a "feel-good" song fitting for a modern-day audience.

Lucifer effectively taking a support role for Charlie also fits his theme as the "ringleader" of Hell, yes the man is in charge, but his main job is to hype up the other acts and prepare the audience, lay the ground work to make the acts themselves stand out even more as a result, while keeping the circus organised, Hell we see it in "more than anything", when he throws Charlie the spotlight is on her while he's out of frame, not to mention his entire pocket dimension is themed after a circus tent. Works incredibly well for how he is presented to the audience.

So fun fact about Hell’s Greatest Dad and Lucifer: he was kinda based off between the Greatest Showman because the VA playing him did the demo for Greatest Showman, and also based on Robin Williams back when he was the Genie from Aladdin (the whole start of that song was almost frame per frame on the Genie’s song when he was introduced). The whole “take that Depression” part prior in the episode was also in reference to our homeboy Robin Williams.. RIP legend…

The first time I listened to more than anything I bawled. I can understand Charlie’s longing to know her dad after 7 years. My dad was an alcohol addict and I cut him off for almost 10 years and then he called needing to get sober. That’s been 3 years ago this year and it’s been a hard but rewarding journey

the fact that i literally pointed this out in my comment, alastor's line about dying for his friends is not sincerely referring to the hazbin crew as his friends. that line is in quotation marks, as in "the papers would say 'great alastor altruist died for his friends,' well sorry to disappoint but that ain't happening." he's actually angry at the idea that he would be remembered that way and his risking his life is clearly something he was forced to do by the deal he made, which is why he's more desperate than ever to get out of it.

@@dietotaku Yeah, Alastor dickriders are one of the worst parts of this series. He's VERY clearly saying that the idea that he would willingly die for his "friends" isn't something he can tolerate. Media literacy is at an all-time low, it's quite concerning. It's crazy to me how you can type in the name of a movie, book or series and one of the top results will always be "ending explained" and the litany of videos/creators who (often incorrectly, sadly) have to spoon feed a fan base the meaning of the story. Whether or not Alastor WILL eventually be 'redeemed' is irrelevant. Although honestly I'm leaning towards not, but I think the series creators/fans love the character too much for them to make him do anything TRULY despicable in any sort of permanent fashion. I could definitely see the series ending with Alastor not being "heaven redeemed" but being effectively a "good guy" while staying in Hell.

But there’s so many other keys everyone is singing at and it STILL manages to blend perfectly! My least favorite song is Vaggie/Carmilla’s first song it’s not bad but it’s forgettable the other song being the other song in episode 6 I can’t remember its name but song sang in the courtroom it has its moments but for the most part it feels more like people having a conversation instead of singing. Hell’s Greatest Dad (the second and/or third song that I heard before I watched hazbin, along with poison) 4. The Show Must Go On 5. Loser Baby (btw top 6 are my most fav songs from this show of all time their such bops imo) 6. Hell is Forever 7. Happy Day In Hell 8. Ready For This 9. Welcome to Heaven (the song that made me find out about Hazbin Hotel!!! Round of applause 👏) 10. Respectless (top 10 after 6 are the songs are the songs that I like the most! Not FAVORITE but I really like them a lot and think that they are extremely catchy) 11. More Than Anything 12. More Than Anything (Reprise) 13. It Starts With Sorry 14. Out For Love 15. Whatever It Takes (i hate this song I personally think Carmilla’s voice in that song is to raspy and it sounds like she’s straining her voice and struggling to sing, and Vaggie’s vocals seem too quiet and bland) Lemme know if I missed any songs

There are so many great Hazbin Hotel Songs, it's hard to figure out which one is the best! Also I'm not sure which Hazbin Hotel Song is the worst either, they are all either so catchy or so emotional. Either way, I'll still enjoy these Hazbin Hotel Songs even if they are at the bottom. Of course I know that Loser Baby, Hell's Greatest Dad, and Stayed Gone, Poison, are very popular Songs for obvious reasons. Also I noticed he's playing Rouge's theme song from Sonic Adventure 2 called Fly in the Freedom whenever he counts down the Hazbin Hotel Songs well when its at #16, that's pretty cool.😁💕🎶🎵
