The AIM-9H is much more than just a copy paste 9G. It has much improved flare resistance. I also think you should have taken things like radar slaving and aircraft into consideration. Like the 9G, there's a massive difference between it on the AV-8C/A and the F-4J.

i dont agree. From the Back Aspect, R60M is less flare hungry. You shouldnt point your Engine towards it if you have an hot engine or it will also ignore flares regulary. But the Flare Resistance is nowhere near AIM9L level.

That doesnt work all that great on the F1 sadly with the Zunis. From the Rear Aspect it wont work against most AAM that have even a slight flare resitance like an AIM9G.

As a French main. The magic 2 is not as good as people say. It has little to no flare resistance. If the person you fire at is unaware of it then its a guarantee kill, but if they have little experience then they can flare and dodge it.

On the defence of British missiles , the Red Top is pretty bad at chasing targets, but is pretty good at interceping side moving targets. Also it appears at a BR where there aren't many flares and if used in a top down attack can be lethal to most aircraft. It can also be radar slaved so I personally think it should be C tier. The SRAAM has been beaten badly, but it can still intercept a lot of tight dogfight targets fairly well, and in quite a few cases, due to the close range you have to be in order to launch it, an enemy doesnt always have the time or awareness to fire off the flares so I think it too should be in C tier, but nearer the bottom.

I was awakened to the 9D supremacy after unlocking the F8E. The only thing that keeps me from putting the 9D over the 9G is the radar slaving and huge gimbal of the 9G. I can lock someone and fire parallel to them and it’s such a mind fuck for people because they don’t think it’s for them until they realize it’s pacing them from a 90 degree angle lol

Shafrir is actually a noticeable step up from AIM-9B, it weighs 10kg less but has everything else the same, which means it has better acceleration and can turn tighter once empty, I scored so many kills when Isreali Vautour was meta, people expect to dodge it like a regular AIM-9b but it can turn that much better, you actually have to make an effort to dodge it, I used to call it "Baby SRAAM"

aim 9l actually is completely different in warthunder than it’s real life counter part. The two major difference is that aim 9l doesn’t have flare resistance. It does however have jamming resistance and it actually pulls 10g more irl. Flare resistance was a thing on the M model and it had good flare resistance

As someone who has used both the firestreak and the red tops, the red top is just an improved version of the firestreak, they are both really good, and red tops are just better. 1G extra pull, slightly faster, bigger explosive mass, pretty much just a better firestreak lol. I would put it at c/b tier personally, especially if you count radar slaving

Not only do 9L’s have amazing flare resistance but if you radar lock and fire it. You can launch it out slightly further and it ignores flares slightly better, at least from my experience in the F16.

@@norske_ow3440 Yeah my aim7 has been 180'ing to go after planes 5km behind me when the plane I locked is only 2 km in front and they didnt notch or use countermeasures. Also they 100% made aim9l less flare resistant, they now go after flares even on rear aspect shots, before apex they would ignore all flares on things like phantoms and other 'hot' planes even if they turned off their after burner. They still are good, but they arent op anymore

Red Top is an easy C+ to me, and at its BR an A tier simply cuz its a shotgun missile, probably the best in the game for super close rear aspect near dumb-fire ranges. Get it anywhere close and it obliterates anything

The SRAAM is weird. Its like 50% of the time a masterful missile, hits and kills everything within 2KM and you can even use it as a flare to shoot other missiles. The other 50% of the time it doesnt track, it burns out too fast and it gets distracted by even the tiniest of flares.

Besides the MK error you made (and already commented on), the only Missile I can't fully agree with is the R23T. I didn't use it much yet (I only used it a bunch of times on the 23M), but it seems better than the R13M. It's all aspect, and has a higher range. I had some really nice snipes with it that the R13 can't pull off. IMO, it should be between the 9G and the R13. But I only have limited experience with it, so it's only my Opinion based on that.

Yeah. It will keep the missile focused while it's still on your rail, but once it leaves the rail, the missile stops talking to the host aircraft.

Matra R530E is mediocre missle that's very good at one thing. If you have a platform with good climb rate it's very good to sneak it from the top on 4/5km where Magic lacks in range. It's not very good main missle but it's very good backup on planes like Mirage IIIE

Basically the same missile, the R24 just flys twice as long (what you pretty much dont feel ln combat) and it pulls a little more what gets ineffective because the missile is also faster. I'm pretty much only familiar with USSR missiles, with the except of the 9L considering it has the range to nuke me from orbit compared the the terrible R60 range and flare hungry. Personally the 9L just seems a long range R60M as I haven't had much trouble flaring them anymore. Seriously was fucking broken that it could completely ignore me shutting off my afterburners, dropping 6 larger caliber countermeasures, and maneuvering. For fucks sake gaijin, the Mig-23M only has 12 total, wtf else do you want me to do against that A10? I'm still pissed at how the Mig-29 is broken. It doesn't need all these fucking buffs to it, it just needs to actually work. An F14 evaded my R27ER despite having a full and complete radar lock the entire time. I don't even want the R73 at this point, I just want it to work properly when I catch someone too high and unable to notch in time.

this tier list is honestly not that good, the aim-9j is better than the r-13 as it's way more sensitive to heat, i got some almost frontal aspect shots with it lately, the r-60mk is equivalent to the r-60m, the r-23t is better than the aim-9g as it has more range (you can launch it from side aspect on people 6km away) and is faster, the pl-5 is great but is in no way better than the r-27t, the r-530 is better than the red tops just even for the range
