“Earth Girls Are Easy” is best remembered for its soundtrack, including a very good remix of Depeche Mode’s “Route 66,” the Jesus and Mary Chain’s cover of “Who Do You Love,” and the B-52’s “Cosmic Thing.” But the best song is Julie Brown’s hysterical “Cause I’m a Blonde.” Her performance of it in the film is easily the best scene IMO.
@laustcawz20893 жыл бұрын

Personally I'd make The Truman Show No.2 and Eternal Sunshine No.1. This is ranking my favourite films that Jim Carey is in, not necessarily my favourite Jim Carey performances - The Mask would probably top that list. The Truman Show freaked me out the first time I watched it. When I was a kid being driven to school, I would often imagine that people walking down the street were in fact actors. When I saw them turn a corner and go out of sight, I imagined them frantically changing their costume and then emerging from another street looking like someone completely different. I would often turn my head to try and catch a glimpse of them suddenly rushing to their costume change. Psychology 101 - I often felt ignored as a kid and so sought attention, needed to think I was at the centre of something, that I was somehow special. I'm sure the film brought back similar memories for lots of people. But for me the premise of Eternal Sunshine is pure genius. Making the the technology of erasing memories seem so normal and believable allowed the story to focus on very tangible human struggles. Especially how can we escape painful memories without losing a significant part of who we are? I rarely bother reading comments and even less frequently write them (for good reason I hear you say!) But I've just had an incredibly surreal day and these films somehow summed it up perfectly. PS - While I was at university in the 90's, I knew some guys who would watch Ace Ventura pretty much every time they got back from being out on the piss - that or watch an awful soft porn channel!
