I like how the teams are unbalanced on certain maps. It can almost feel like there are two maps in one, you start off as the easier team e.g. the rebels on Endor and once you improve you can play as the harder team and it’s very rewarding winning as the underdog especially during a multiplayer match

​​@ether2275 To win as the Empire on endor just camp near the last command Post which is usually the shield generator and just hold out against the enemy. If you're the last Stormtrooper alive camp there because there's only one way for them to come in so it's a bottle neck. I wouldn't call it camping per se I would say holding the line. What camping has been misconstrued as being lazy and just waiting for enemies to run by but no if you using it in a defensive way camping? Is OK I'm Denying somebody's access to run around My defenses That's not camping that's been Defensive. But this is when you're fighting bots. I don't think it'll work so much if you're fighting against Actual players.

I never realises BF1 Geonosis had more players, what the hecc. I remember how I got BF2 during its release and played it nonstop, until it felt a bit weird. I couldn't tell what it was back then, but it was probably the immersion of being a Clone Trooper in a MASSIVE battle and BF1 made it so amazing. The AT-TE and LAATs were much cooler there and the map more fun in general with the control room and the ships you could destroy. Taking these checkpoints at the start was pretty hard too! No idea what they tried to do with the new BF2 map lmao I really loved the Bespin Cloud Platforms too with the long corridor and starfighters, and the daylight Kashyyyk one and Rhen Var with the vehicle. Makes me a bit sad how BF2 didn't do much with some maps, Felucia felt super boring just like Mos Eisley

Nah Geonosis in BF1 is complete bullshit, the CIS has three command posts hidden behind the spire and elevated positions while the republic are down in an open plain. One of the most unbalanced maps in either game

I just remember so many times on Geonosis or Endor playing as Clones or Empire and losing because I couldn’t find the last guy on the enemy team and the Ewok or Geonosian AI took just enough of my hero health that it ran out. Then I learned not to take the hero if the reinforcements go below 50

Polis Massa was always my favorite because of the sheer linearity of the level. Playing as Maul while sprinting down the corridors slaughtering everything in your path, was like knocking down pins in bowling. It was like the developers crafted the level with tight corridors just for you to play as Maul and body the entire lobby in one sprint attack. But the linearity was also it's downfall. Playing as the Republic is extremely unbalanced. The corridors are so tight that if a super battle droid shoots a wrist rocket, you're dead no matter what. Yoda compared to Maul is a joke. Lastly, Maul, Maul, MAUL!! It's all fun and games when you're playing as Maul slaughtering clones, but when you're the clone getting slaughtered, it's a completely different story.

The best way to win as Republic and Empire, is to take a tank to the enemies hanger, take their command post, and force them to take over your old ones.

I always hated the Naboo map, personally. I'd have put it in F tier. But I'm probably biased because I always played GCW Galactic Conquest, and I feel like every game I end up taking Naboo once, and then the AI does everything in its power to send fleets there, so I'll end up playing Naboo like 10 times a game. It's gotten to the point where I always invest in another fleet just to keep it in orbit over Naboo just so I don't have to mess with the ground battle again. Though that one hallway that you always see 20-something AI stuck in is kinda funny.

Just conquer Mygeeto (especially if your fleet spawn near of it at the beginning) and you'll be fine, just don't let the AI take either Mygeeto or Coruscant and invade Endor

Polis Massa was always my favorite. Wierdly, I've always found it fun playing the republic even though they clearly have a huge disadvantage. The endgame was especially my favorite part, where I'm the only trooper left, and I have to single handedly kill the remaining separatists while at the same time guarding a command post. It's pretty stressful but oddly satisfying at the same time, I guess if that makes sense.

Technically when Anakin killed the younglings this was him transitioning into Darth Vader and the Republic in to the empire. I'll be honest, I dont even know who the playable villain is on Coruscant. Is it The Emperor? Anakin fights Obi Wan in the game on Mustafar, so Id say thats why Anakin is not at Coruscant.

Death star was SS tier in the old days as was Polis Massa, Mos Eisley, Tantive IV and Mustafar. Geonosis, Hoth and Courscant were also definitely S tier. Kashyyyk, Jabba's Palace, Utapau and Mygeeto were A and the rest were never really played. This was in the online multiplayer on PC, these maps, especially the SS tier were played over and over again.

This game did have dlc for the Xbox only lol. It brought in 4 maps from the first Battlefront: Cloud City, both Rhen Var maps and Yavin Arena with CTF added onto them. Hunt mode with Rebels v Wampas on Rhen Var Harbor and it added 2 new heroes Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress. HvV was also brought over to Coruscant, Cloud City, Kashyyyk, Naboo, both Rhen Var maps, Mygeeto and yavin Arena.

7:00 My theory as to why they have Anakin fight under the Empire faction instead of CIS is because the real fight in the movie was after order 66, and therefore the clone troopers would've been on Anakin's side, not Obi-Wan's. And also Anakin never fought for the separatists in the first place, even after his turn to the dark side. The Clone Wars at that point ended, with the clones now serving under the empire. So it's perfectly understandable why the developers for this game made it that way, at least for me.

Personally I think it's at least partially so that you can re--enact the Anakin vs Obi-Wan fight on Mustafar with a friend. That would also explain why young Obi-Wan is one of the Rebellion's heroes.

I agree at the most. Specially in the part when we're thinking about this mastodontic classic, we remember precisely about Geonosis and Mygeto. It just made out my best times with the PS2. I started to replay it on pc now, and literally, a different feel everytime a play. But, my point is... when playing instant action, how to I get two heroes in the battefield at the same time? It never happened to me, unfortunattely! Some blessed soul to give me any clarity here?

When th eman starts with Dagobah at bottom tier, I know the list is going to be quality. Literally the only map in that entire game I didn't like *something* about, at least. I will say I did like the nighttime part of Naboo but for one big reason, well maybe two. The smaller second one is that I am not the biggest fan of super bright colors, so a darker setting isn't that bad to me. The main reason though is very simple. When you shoot, you can see the light of the bolts on the ground travel with the shot. Idk what it is about that that I enjoy so much.

Funny thing is, you don’t need a PC to play the BF 1 maps and HVV on the other maps. The backwards compatible version of the game on Xbox has all the PC content. Including kit fisto and asajj ventress

Good list, I do feel like the large maps were a bit of a downgrade from Battlefront 1, especially Geonosis. While it is just as open as the bf2 version, having starfighters and gunships definitely helped a lot in terms of traversing the battlefield, and the spire always gave me that feeling of assaulting a huge fortress. Destructible command posts also gave us a nice little side objective, I'd always go straight for them when I played those maps.

If playing Polis Massa on clone wars CIS has the massive advantage of not taking damage when leaving the airlocked area. Clones can only go outside in a vehicle or they die really quickly. Sort of left that out.

Tips for Kashyyk, Dagobah or any other map containing bodies of water: jump in the water anytime you can, the water actually acts as a "wall" and cannot be traversed by weapons, except for mines and grenades since they go below the water "wall". Endor is a good challenge for imperials. Honestly the best tip I would have is don't waste any time and empty your gun on rebels and assemble a squad. Ignore the Ewoks at all cost, they're really a distraction and not worth it. Having a squad is essential in those hard maps, because the infantry count never includes you. If you see there's only 1 remaining infantry on your team, it's actually you and an ai ally.

I'm not a big fan of Naboo because the Clones/rebels sometimes just cramp in the corner and don't fight, so I have to solo in singleplayer. Agree about Mos Eisley. I like just blowing up turrets with rockets, and since the jawas fix them right after they blow up, I can blow things up the whole match. Yavin I find actually enjoyable. It's an interesting map, and if you haven't gone under the waterfall behind enemy lines, have you even played the game? Polis Massa is PTSD material, especially after you play as Republic or Empire.

I absolutely looooove Mos Eisley in Instant Action for Clone Wars. When I poay as the Republic I switch to the Jet Trooper asap. And it is wild. When you fly you can immerse yourself and enjoy the bird’s eye view of the map. Hopping from rooftop to rooftop is fun and from an elevated position you can easily destroy enemy units and help the clone army capture command posts by providing support heavy fire. Taking out snipers and blowing up turrets is super satisfying too. The fact you can fly and almost never have to touch the ground is awesome. ❤

S Tier Mos Eisley - The most wonderfully diverse map of the entire game. Great for long range and close quarters engagement, one of the only map that gives you a perfect bird’s nest for snipers and I genuinely loved traversing the landscape, shooting enemy turrets in the head and even blasting a Jawa every time they stole my flag. A Tier Polis Massa What an absolutely devastating map this is. Every step forward can be halted by two steps back as countless enemies cram into you in the claustrophobic spaces that keep you from each and every command post. Sure, you can commandeer a vehicle and try and uprise against the opposite end of the map but it’s a huge undertaking. The best part is the easily exploitable glitch that allows all droids to traverse the open space section without taking damage due to the fact that they aren’t organic life forms. That’s honestly hilarious. Death Star I love each and every Easter Egg that they pumped into this level. While I do find it to have a few too many quiet areas, the bulk of the map is narrow and frenzied with lots of pinch points that can lead to either a quick victory or a huge loss. The garbage chute *chefs kiss*. Tantive VI Reliving the opening scene from Star Wars is a pretty magnificent feeling, not gonna lie. Packed to the gills with endless corridors and small areas, this level is always bustling with engagements that never feel overwhelming yet there is an oscillating sense of danger that occurs anytime more enemies approach from every sliding door and staircase. B Tier Coruscant A very busy, multifaceted map that facilitates the run and gun insanity of the central area and the more covert but commando style action along the side paths of the map. Very engaging. Mustafar Generally a very tough map with a lot of touch and go moments sprinkled throughout. It’s never dull and it’s seldom quiet. Every single command post is highly guarded and it requires a commanding effort to keep them in check. Intense is the best word to describe it. Hoth There’s something fundamentally nostalgic about this level. Even though I have complained before about wide levels, this one captures the empty nature of Hoth to a T. It’s incredibly stressful to take on AT-ATs from ground level and the Empire has a very clear advantage. The best part of the level is the cavernous tunnel that bridges between two of the Rebel’s bases. Because it’s rarely protected, it makes for a speedy battle that I use to test myself everytime I play. Also, some of those turrets are just off the hook in terms of instant kills. Endor This level has its ups and downs but it’s generally a pretty strong map in terms of presentation. I love how deadly the booby traps are to AT STs and it’s crazy to see how deadly the Ewoks can be. It’s definitely one sided and it’s pretty easy to cheese the map once you realize that you can sidestep the majority of the conflict and end up at the end of the map, flanking your opposing force. Just a neat little map. C Tier Jabba’s Palace I’ll concede that this level is very murky and challenging but I find that to be more of a feature rather than a bug. It’s one of the rare maps that makes it all too easy to slip up and fail. Enemies tend to congregate in large groups in tight corners and lob countless grenades at you constantly. It’s an absolute meat grinder. It’s not bad but I definitely have to be ready to fight for my life each and every time. Geonosis This level feels incredibly sparse at times. The main drag is hectic and hellish with its constant barrage of vehicles, turrets and infantry yet the outskirts of the level is a bit more safe. That being said, I absolutely loath tanks because they fall apart faster than Swedish furniture the moment you try to step foot on enemy lines. That and the Geonosians are beyond annoying and I fucking hate each and every one of them! Mygeeto Not altogether bad as it is especially fun to play as a tank and blast everyone to hell but it’s visually muddy and grey. It’s also incredible long in its pathing which causes you to be easy prey to long distance shooters and powerful turrets. Kashyyyk This one is sort of in the middle for me. The draw distance is good, not great, the use of turrets can really help you get a step up on enemy vehicles, there’s a centre cluster of platforms that are barely used, the Wookies are impossibly hard to manage at times, especially by the time you breach their fort and it’s one of the few times I outright refuse to play as Empire or CIS. Naboo Similar to what you said, this map lacks visual flair and generally has very little going on aside from the massive grind that is at the centre of the map. All the other command posts are virtually silent except for the centre and it makes it incredibly pesky to navigate. That and there’s an infamous bug that causes a lot of ai soldiers to huddle in one spot nearby hurts its replay-ability. Kamino I’ve never personally liked the layout of this map. It overuses the platform sections and has so many narrow pathways that act as annoying pinch points. Capturing bases isn’t the problem, it’s having one left and dealing with an awful cascade of enemies that spawn non-stop. It’s also just very dull visually as I never enjoy rainy maps. D Tier Yavin 4 This level doesn’t do a very good job of occupying its space. Too often I find myself wandering alone and the enemies often migrate to the main centre of the map which is a clusterfuck of vehicles and terrain that I get too easily stuck on. It’s also wide, bland and other than the waterfall you can use as a secret passage, it’s not terribly engaging. Utapau Surprisingly low on my list but I dislike how wide and open the entire landscape is. There’s no cover and a lot of times, I get easily outnumbered and my comrades are wiped before they even get a chance. There aren’t a lot of side areas to explore and the command posts are a frustrating tedium, especially the main hangar. Felucia A lot of the same problems with Dagobah affect this map as well. Vehicles aren’t much help since the fauna get in the way. The draw distance is ghastly and I find a lot of the control points except for the cliff to be incredibly boring to capture. Dagobah It’s just too… insurmountable. There’s heavy distance fog, water that can block your view of grenades, heavy pinch points in several of the command posts and a lot of times where I catch myself being overrun with enemy forces. Definitely the least fun map of the entire game. Although the sound of Darth Vader breathing in the cavern was a nice touch.

My have made a mistake... as all of them are s... Jokes aside, I have so many fond memories of all these maps. Growing up, I only had a ps2 for almost my entire childhood until senior year of high school when I got an Xbox 360, so I think I accumulated well over a thousand hours of battlefront 2. Watching through this video every time you mentioned a map, the full layout of each immediately sprang Into my mind and thinking about all of them I don't think there is a single one which brought a bad taste to my mouth. Only amazing memories for every single map.

Kamino is S tier. If you get to the enemy fast enough at the beginning you got loads of easy kills on that main bridge near the center. Chuck a grenade and get 3 or 4 easy.

I definitely prefer maps with alot of cover cuz in hard mode sometimes the AI just fucking targetlocks you so in wide open spaces it is annoying if youre not in a vehicle/sniping from afar. Dagobah is def. The worst for having lackluster cover in pivotal areas and the darkness,fog, and foilage where lots of cheap deaths happen.

I dont necessarily feel that any of the maps are bad, (well except dagobah) but when I make tier lists I like to have stuff spread evenly across the tiers. That might help explain why some of the rankings seem harsh
