Cap, here's a number of problems I noticed: 1. He didn't include the Mario Kart Arcade GP games 2. He claimed Mario Kart 7 was the last handheld Mario Kart, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is on a portable console (the same thing btw) and that came out after MK7 3. He said he was so addicted to Mario Kart Tour, but ranked it below Super Circuit

A few comments: I don't really get why the Koopalings are so hated; they literally all have distinct designs. 7's new additions were revolutionary at the time, and I think 7 is mainly overlooked because, basically, it walked so 8 could run. The tracks are also somewhat overlooked, especially Wuhu. But the lack of single player VS does still drag it down, and I guess the strange roster was also detrimental overall, even though it's extremely subjective. I also think that, while battle mode was certainly improved by miles in 8DX, 8 has many things that make up for bad battle mode, such as amazing track quality that I think exceeds Wii's, amazing music, and unprecedented renovations of retro tracks as well as their music. I also find that the complaint about clones in 8's roster is disproportionately applied to 8 compared to Wii, which had 4 out of 5 babies that are in 8; although 8 did have other types of clones, the complaint is NEVER applied to babies in MKWii; both games had a completely new baby character introduced. TL;DR: Battle mode (not taking the BCP into account) accounts for well over 90% of the upgrade from 8 to 8DX.

Well.* People *will* ask why the others weren’t added. Hell, people were asking, _“while he’s cool in all, but why Funky Kong out of all the other Kongs”_ when Wii was released and “why there weren’t more kongs added?” His stats are his only true saving grace. Funky Kong was only added because his frame is similar to Donkey Kong’s. Just like Ganondorf being in Melee only because of Captain Falcon’s frame.

I think that Mario kart super circuit is pretty underrated, it has many good tracks, like sunset wilds, cheese land, sky garden and others, also for the limitations of GBA is very good, besides (unpopular opinon) i think mk64 is very overrated is pretty difficult to handle the cars, also it doesn't have for me so many good tracks, a part from bowser castle. Also I think MK7 should be up but not like the best because It needed more, like the bikes.

If the troll vehicles were useful, there would be no sense of ridiculousness that made the game awesome. And it wasn’t that the bikes were op, the karts were just awful.

Nice ranking. Honestly I’d rank them like this (Only counting console and handhelds, no live circuit. Never played SC). 7. Mario Kart 7 6. Super Mario Kart 5. Mario Kart 64 4. Mario Kart DS 3. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! 2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 1. Mario Kart Wii Wii is my favorite due to its style. I love the extreme sports angle it went for with its trick system and inclusion of bikes. The physics also allow you to pull off some crazy feats, and the game overall has very high skill ceiling. The roster is great, the new tracks are some of the series best and the way you unlock characters actually gives incentive to doing time trials. They’re also good at helping less experienced players get good at the game and be prepared for harder challenges. It’s not without issues though, the games visuals honestly don’t look like they’d even push the GameCube’s hardware, the item’s are unbalanced due to increase in the number of racers, and the battle mode is kind of underwhelming (especially balloon battle). But overall, it’s pro’s make it my favorite Mario Kart. TL:DR: MKWII is pretty sick imo.

If I had to make a list I would start by only having fully realized non-accessory console releases. This means no tour, no live home circuit, none of the Arcade GPs, and no MK8 because I always considered it an incomplete game without a proper battle mode, and that DX was what it should have been to begin with. This leaves 8 spots. 8. Wii. This is a fun game, they all are, but like every franchise entry to the Wii from Smash to Zelda, the dedicated Wii titles are always the worse. Heavily forced motion controls, over-casualization, among other issues. Sure there was a way to play without motion controls. but the classic controller is sold separately and lacks some features only the wii remote has access to. I believe the gamecube controllers worked. Just need to plug it into the gamecube port. Which is only on the original base model. Later models left it out, the slim was too small as I recall, and the Wii U lacked the ports, and when I tried using the smash gamecube adapter for Wii U it didn't work. 7. Super Mario Kart. The original. My first experience with the franchise. It set the groundwork for everything. Unfortunately replaying it reminds you that Japan apparently had never driven a car, or kart, or any wheeled vehicle ever before the year 2000. Karts don't turn, they slide awkwardly around as everything rotates awkwardly. Awkward². It's a good game but dated beyond belief. 6. Super Circuit. Great game. Amazing to take it on the go. Awesome that it introduced retro tracks with all of SMK. Unfortunately it was limited by it's tech and there is little reason to revisit it over the other titles. 5. 64. Another one that is a bit dated with floaty 'we never experienced driving before' style controls. This was *the* Kart. Four players. Going to a friends house. Block Fort. They were great times and we played the shit out of it. Going back you find a lot less from what we are use to. 4. 7. I loved this and had a ton of fun. I just have to sadly admit that in the long run it was a bit forgettable. 3. Double Dash. These last three are hard, but having replayed virtually all of the Karts recently I can say for sure this one had a lot less content then what I remember. Although I am very fond of playing coop on one kart with my older bro. Him piloting me aiming the items. I miss that and it is sad the closest thing recently is the coop mode of Arcade GP DX that most others aren't as lucky as I am to have at a local barcade. 2. DS. Holy shit did I play the fuck out of this. Anywhere. On the bus? Waiting rooms? Car rides? Sneaking it between classes? Block fort is back. Custom karts. Great tracks. It was really hard not to make this #1. Introduced multiplayer that few played since few had wifi access at the time. Heard it was laggy. My only gripe was the inclusion of the DS mic for blowing up balloons. Sure you got extra balloons, but you only started with one and had to blow extras up. And you *had* to B L O W. Very awkward in a quiet waiting room full of people and impossible when you were suppose to be asleep so you couldn't make noise. 1. 8(DX). Definitive Mario Kart experience. Tons of tracks. Plenty of retro. A true battle mode. (Where's my block fort though?) Although admittedly I got much better with this one and playing solo has lost it's glamour for me. It always ends up with my front running a mile ahead holding plenty of items to protect myself as I easily grab first. Really made me appreciate losing when winning is so empty. But that's where online comes in. Best.

Forced motion controls, over casualization that lead to imbalances making karts unviable and only two bikes and potentially three characters leaving online lobbies over 90% Funky Kong on Flame Runner making the game boring since it basically became Funky Bike: Half-baked forced motion controls. In the end, that's just like my opinion man. I still will say it is good, but god did it suck. If it was the only MK to play, sure, but fuck did playing it lack the same enjoyment every other MK game had. Again, my opinion, and to you I can just go fuck myself, so. *shrug*

My list: Super Circuit: No new characters Double Dash: No comment I just don't like the game Tour: Not that bad as people it is, but could be better Home Circuit: By far the coolest gimmick in Mario Kart game and was a fun time for people to break down what can all be done in the game. Basically Mario Kart AR. (More on that later) 64: This game is good, but doesn't hold at all Super Mario Kart: 1st DS: I like the missions and boss battles 8: This is my most played Mario kart game to date. I had so much fun the battle I played with brother and sister. Wii: My first ever Mario kart and it was incredible. I actually got for my birthday when I turned 3. 8DX: Quite possibly the denfentive version of Mario kart. With the rest of the booster course pass coming probably the best Mario tracks will. The tour tracks will provide new tracks for many. It is the best selling Mario kart game. It's a port from my favorite console and a port of my favorite kart game. The best best graphics and best looking game on the switch. Gps: No idea where to place these VR: Remeber when I was talking about Mario Kart AR. Well there is a VR Mario Kart made by BandI Namco. I personally never playerd it, but you can look up KZbin videos to see how it looks. It is a cool sight to see.

I've been playing Mario Kart ever since I was a 4 year old and it made me in love with gaming so I figure I share my opinion on the series. The only games I haven't played yet was Mario Kart Live Home circuit (Cause I don't think it's worth it) and the arcade game cause I've never played it and I can't find it where I live 9. Tour- Jesus Christ it's the worst game I've ever played, the PTW system is a mess, the controls are terrible, and the music are ripped right form their respective games. I can't wait for it to die 8. 7- I find it the same as tour but at least I can play it with actual buttons instead of a flat screen. And it also has the worst Bowser's Castle in the series. The only reason I like it better besides the controls is 3DS Rainbow Road, the Wii Sports Resort tracks and a few retro tracks, THAT'S IT. 7. Super Mario Kart- Funny Story, I had it at the bottom spot 10 years ago, before 8 came out, it shows you how many things can change in 10 year but I digress. I have a soft spot for it now cause without it, we would not have Mario Kart. The tracks are while not mindblowing I still find fun today and the music is really good 6. Double Dash- I didn't grew up with it and never played it until I was in high school ( I was born in 1999 in case anyone has some questions), anyways I find the double characters to be a really cool feature that I wish it was brought back in a future game. I also find it unique that most character has an exclusive item so you can use a pair up the suits best for you. Other then that I don't have much to say other then some tracks are fun to race on. 5. Wii- Oh man this game is amazing. It was the only Mario Kart game my friends and I played back when I was in middle school (there was a wii at my middle school dance that I played on). It also brought back 2 of my favorite tracks in the series. N64 Bowser's Castle, and GBA Bowser's Castle 3 (Don't judge me), but it was the game that made me buy a classic controller for my Wii cause I really hate forced motion controls. 4. DS- This game was my childhood, I remember playing it so much growing up. The tracks are amazing to play on, the music is amazing and ironicly it introduced ROB the robot to me. My only complaint is that only a couple of tracks are not fun to play on like Baby Park and Rainbow Road (I know it had a loop on it, but I played with the Hot Wheels video games growing up so it didn't wowed me) 3. 8DX. This game freaking rocks, it was the first game ever that I was excited for the most. The tracks are some of the best in the series, the music is so amazing and the ability to customized your kart makes it instantly replayable (I know 7 was the first to introduce it but I think 8 does a better job), and there's DLC thats adding 48 additional tracks, that is AMAZING. I hope N64 Bowser's Castle, GBA Bowser's Castle 3, and Waluigi Pinball get's added. 2. Super Circuit- I know alot of you disagree with me but this is my first ever video game and I freaking love it. The tracks are some of the most unique in the series, the music is amazing and nostalgic, and it has all of the SNES tacks in it too so that's a nice bonus. 1. Mario Kart 64- This games is so amazing it's also on my top 3 favorite games of all time. It has my favorite course selection in the series, my favorite soundtrack in the series, and the gameplay is my favorite in the series.

Unfortunately I have not played Mario Kart DS yet, but my ranking would be: 7. Super Mario Kart - Time period and historical impact are not a heavy factor in rankings for me, and this has not aged well 6. Super Circuit - Similar to Super Mario Kart but better in almost every way 5. Mario Kart 64 - Great battle mode and tracks, but hasn't aged great and the AI rubber banding is annoying 4. Mario Kart Wii - I've probably put the most hours into this game, but I like the tracks in the top 3 more 3. Mario Kart 7 - Amazing tracks in this game, nothing wrong with it, it's very tight between this game and Double Dash 2. Double Dash - 7 has slightly better tracks, but I love how everyone has their own specific kart and special item, and I love the two-person kart system 1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - It's the perfect Mario Kart. It fixed the battle mode, which is the only issue I have with the original 8.

No Mario Kart 7 is straight up the best one it has the best selection retro course ever with Airship fortress, Daisy Cruiser, Mario Circuit 2, mushroom Gorge, I can literally go on all day. It's also got the best original course in all Mario Kart history with amazing ones like both Wuhu island tracks, piranha plant slide, music park, rock rock mountain, wario shipyard, and of course Rainbow Road. It introduces the glider and water mechanics which lead to some extremely creative courses and retro revamps. The controls some of the best in the series and the physics are really good *cough**cough* Wii and Double Dash *cough**cough*

Honey Queen, Wiggler, Lakitu and even Metal Mario are good Mario Kart additions and I'm tired of people still hating on 2 of them, nobody discusses Lakitu and I do get the hate for Metal Mario but he is really good when you give him some thought I don't count Shy Guy because he appeared first in DS, but at least 7 didn't exclude him to the multiplayer players without a cartridge, wich in turn made them only able to play in the Mushroom and Shell cups

Mkdd is my fav along with 8. To me its the first modern era mk cus the later games are very similar in animations, track design and playstyle like the speed, drifting and for example losing items from a shell makes u drop stuff on the course. To me, mk wii was just a too similar in its playstyle of mk dd. kinda like a glorifed version of mk dd. It left a really bad taste for me cus all the hacking and worse visuals than dd.yet adding bikes tricks and retro tracks was great at least. Tho the gallery of new memorable tracks was slim imo. Cocunut mall, maple treeway, dk summit are the ones that pop up on in my head tho.

I never played the OG 3 games or Home Circuit, so here is a list of the 5 modern mainline games (though if I included Tour, it would be the worst.) 5. 7, would be better than 8 DX if it had VS mode. My first game in the series. 4. 8 DX, TOO MANY COINS! And wall physics suck. Would be in a better spot if you can switch items, and if bikes had any use. 3. Wii, overrated, but it's pretty fun. 2. DS, the last game to have the optimal drifting style. And the soundtrack slaps. 1. DD, hectic, but somehow it is the most satisfying game if you master it. And All Cup Tour and Special Items never made a substantial return for some reason. And Shine Theif and Bob omb Blast are infinitely more fun here than in MK8.

The steering is weird, the power ups are boring and don’t do anything, the levels and characters are all the same. I’m trying to get in to it but it’s a slog. Maybe I’m just bitter because I’ve literally won competitions in 64 and wii but average about 8th in deluxe online

Besides the battle mode, there's not a single thing 64 does better than Double Dash. Dd has every character 64 had and more. The drifting is better. The tracks are better. DD's graphics are the first in a mario kart game to look good and still look good to this day. DD allows you to choose different karts. My only gripe with double dash is that you lose your items if you get hit with a bomb or fall off the track and if you have tripple of an item and you get hit, you loose all of your item except for one. Even though it's annoying it's kinda of a good thing too because those items you lost go onto the track and cause more chaos. lol
