I was initially surprised that MK8’s Star Cup didn’t win, I even think it’s better than the 3DS, but looking at Wii’s stacked as hell line up, I think it makes perfect sense. Once Koopa Cape comes to MK8, I can’t wait to recreate the cup and act like Daisy Circuit was Mushroom Gorge the whole time.

I never got the hype behind Koopa Cape, so MK8's star cup still edges out no. 1 for me, but the Star Cups in all the recent games have gone so hard it's really up to personal preference more than any other cup ranking imo..

As a kid, i always mixed up the names of Grumble Volcano and DK Mountain in Mario Kart Wii because in Spanish Grumble Volcano is called "Grumpy Volcano" and DK Mountain happens to feature a big grumpy looking volcano.

Legends say that they swapped Coconut Mall with Daisy Circuit in the MKWii Star Cup because Nintendo knew that gamers couldn't handle such high concentrations of GOATed tracks all combined in the same cup.

when i was a kid i always chose maple treeway and just sat on it appreciating the aesthetics and knocking over the piles hoping for a star to hit the wigglers with and now that i’m older i just have even more appreciation for it. one of if not the best track in mario kart history.

I've got to say, the first song you used was a really good choice, such good vibes... I think music selection is important actually, same as audio mixing, and I think you nailed the first one (I feel like there are some louder sounds compared to your voice, but I don't think it's too bad of a case)

Something I learnt about sunshine airport, it’s based almost entirely on an airplane flight. You start the race in the boarding lobby and the reception, and you leave the lobby, about to board the plane. After you board the plane (the part where you go through the plane), you take off, which is the part where you get launched to the floating anti-grav platform. The platform represents the actual flight, and when you start to glide back down to the airport, that’s landing, before you do it all again, since most airplane trips require multiple stops! That’s how I saw it at least!!

Wow, I agree with so much in this video! My favourite track of all time is Maple Treeway, followed by Mount Wario. The best star cup definitely is the one from Mario Kart Wii, all 4 tracks are absolutely great with awesome music: Maple Treeway 5/5, Koopa Cape 4.5/5, Grumble Volcano 4.5/5, Daisy Circuit 4/5 -> 18/20

Funny how they added Wii's Star Cup courses in MK8 in reverse. Grumble Volcano was part of the base game, Maple Treeway was added in Wave 3, Koopa Cape in Wave 5, and now Daisy Circuit in Wave 6. They're just that good.

I wouldn't really consider it a short cut, but mushroom city, just like peach beach, from the same game, has a different way you can go and even gives you a double box item, might save time if you get really good at it! That was my preferred way

Honestly, Star cups are always my favorite racing cups in every mario kart. Maybe it is because they tend to have the right amount of difficulty, thematic and layout. Maple Treeway, Piranha Plant Slide, Koopa Cape, Wario Shipyard, Ribbon Road, Bowser Castle 3, Tick Tock Clock, Airship Fortress to name a few.

Forgot how good Star cups are in MK, my 2nd and 3rd favorite track in the series were in a star cup! When I first found out N64 Bowsers Castle was in the Star cup it blew my mind 🤯. 13:53 too bad that did have a chance to include the Easter egg in tour but they didn’t, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt since it was 2019 tour, 2022 tour probably would’ve added it since they really popped off in terms of the retro tracks this year! Question, idk if you’ve said anything about this but have you considered after whenever the lightning cup video comes out, most likely after all 6 waves of DLC release, ranking all miscellaneous cups. Egg Cup, Crossing Cup, Rock Cup, Fruit Cup etc… I mean at that point it may aswell just be ranking the booster course pass cups, but it’d still be cool to see.
