London 2012 is literal perfection, but I always hated on the 3DS one how certain characters were locked. My dreams of having Metal Sonic box have been crushed.

Yeah. I grew up with 2012 Olympic games on the 3ds so I have nostalgia bias but it was so weird that you could only pick between 4 characters for certain events. It was so hard not picking Daisy every time but every event was still fun. Literally my only problem with it. (I never played the Wii version so I don't feel like I really missed out with the dream games)

London and Rio 3DS are fun but I HATE that they only allow you to choose from like 4 characters for each event. The whole appeal was that you can play as any character in any event. Why did they do that?

Vancouver 2010 is the goat, still to this day. the storymode is so awesome and one of the most underrated parts ever in any ds game. The storymode can be a whole game itself and the game would be better than most games

For Rio 2016 the challenge of the tournament mode at higher lvl was what made it so fun for me I still think that alone makes it decent, I get it’s not great but it’s definitely enjoyable and the 3Ds version had a solid story mode so the fact that 2020 got rated higher than rio 2016 especially the 3ds version was wild to me after the 2020 story mode it got stale fast for me.

My only issue with 2020 was no gymnastic or rhythmic events like in previous games. My favorite events was the rhythmic ribbon, the hoop and clubs. The only object they haven't used is the ball I think. I love the music that goes with it. Massive missed opportunity

Funny thing about about London 2012 is my favorite game was Orbot and Cubot tag and I had a nightmare where I was just on a New York block and Orbot just started choking me out while Cubot was just standing there watching. I also got their name backwards but I was 6 so I didn’t really know what an orb and a cube was yet so I only learned which one was which in Sonic Lost World

I never played the ds ones as I never knew they existed as a kid so I’ll just rank the mainline: the original started it of even if it doesn’t hold up now it has my respect, the first winter games is such a vibe from the music down to the dream event level design with an entire sonic adventure 2 level, London games were fantastic with so much to do and re do with the party mode and even side games where my favourite thing to do was take the piss out of orbot and cubot, The 2nd winter games were ok at best with some of the dream events being interesting like ice puck golf or the entire mountain race, Rio is dogshit, I surprised Tokyo actually is rated highly as I was disappointed with it as I wasn’t fond of the 2d mode and there was nothing to do after story mode what was one of my favourite parts of the London games plus the dream events are so bad.

I wouldn’t say sochi 2014 and rio 2016 are bad i think sochi was pretty good but not as good as Vancouver 2010 but I don’t think it’s bad As for rio 2016 i do have some mixed opinions on rio 2016 it wasn’t terrible by all means but definitely the weakest one in the series ( I didn’t like that if have 4 players there’s no co op or vs only team versus which I think was a stupid choice to make especially for team games like football and rugby but on a more positive side i did like that if you beat character’s like jet you get to play as them which was something I always wonted since Vancouver 2010 and london 2012)
