I'm gonna keep it a buck and tell you how it is in this word soup. I'm really happy with this video and my tier list, it feels like I'm presenting my child to the world. This Super Smash Bros. Character Tier List features reveals from Super Smash Bros. Melee for Nintendo Gamecube and Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Nintendo Wii. I also dive into when the character/roster reveals got a little more exciting come Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, speaking of which, did you know Masahiro Sakurai (creator of Kirby and Super Smash Bros.) actually considers them to be Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Smash Bros. 5 respectively? That guy is so awesome. This video also features an interview with Masahiro Sakurai, and showcasing some of my favorite Etika reactions and moments. Some of the characters I give a hot take on include Minecraft Steve, Sonic, Byleth, Sora, Bayonetta, and Pyra. I'm not a boomer so I'm not going to include Banjo & Kazooie.

I think Joker was good at representing the Persona series and Shin Megami Tensei as a whole by being a part of its biggest spinoff franchise and the biggest game in that franchise. Hero was definitely implemented better with the alt skins representing the most iconic games in the series though.

I feel like Joker was a good pick in terms of the wow factor (and he was the best choice from the series) but I was a bit disappointed to see that his inclusion only represented P5. I'm a huge SMT/Persona fan but I feel like Joker only represented the dungeon-crawling aspect of just P5 which was a little underwhelming. Would've been sick to see him use the wild card mechanic and other stuff from the series more. 3rd parties are supposed to evoke the feeling of playing said game in smash and I think they sorta dropped the ball with him.

SMT is a dope af series with a ton of history in Japan like DQ so I think it’s totally appropriate to include Joker as an icon (even if he doesn’t have the longtime history like some others). Genuinely the only bad pick in FP1 is Byleth as the rest are great and “worthy” by the arbitrary standards of being “iconic” and relevant to gaming history

I honestly agree with most of these except like Sora, since I don't care for KH, and Joker. When Joker was announced I hadn't played P5 so I was like "Oh ok" but I'll give the trailer props for actually being really stylistic and cool looking! And then after playing P5, Royal and the spin offs, I think he's a solid pick especially why how big Persona 5 became around the time plus even his victory and effects were super cool looking

Oh man I remember watching the Sora trailer, but being kinda disappointed. This was because after Steve was added I was trying really hard to think about who my most wanted next character would be, my friends would always ask me and it wasn't until the Sora trailer started that I realized. My most wanted character is Tabuu, it would've been perfect everyone was an assist trophy just standing there, there was the Smash Logo in the sky, god it could've been so hype. Also Ultimate's running theme was adding antagonists and Tabuu is such a standout from Smash, besides Master Hand, who they kind of added by putting at the end of World of Light. But man having the last DLC be Tabuu would have been amazing imo.

I think both joker and terry have a good reason to be there. Joker sent the message of "expect the unexpected" the dlc was going for, and king of fighters was what pushed sakurai to make a more accessible fighting game for everyone to enjoy. I don't think they are perfect picks either, and I don't think the philosophy of every character needing to be important to gaming is necessarily true, but being important to smash is synonym to being important to gaming, so I'd say both are good picks

As a fire emblem fan I am of course happy that byleth is in, but I can definitely agree that it was a horrible pick. But I think the main reason is because they pumped the shit out of awakening for characters, they should have only added chrom and then no corrin. And they also added byleth at a horrible time, since for a while people thought they would be the last character in the game.
