Ok so a couple things to note for you. 1. The reason Magnifying Grass is held so high is because a lot of times if you use really good sun producers, you usually start building up thousands of sun you don’t use. Magnifying Grass’ damage paired with that fact makes him really held high. Simply use cheap plants to fend off zombies for a bit. Once you build up a good bank of sun, replace them with Magnifying Grass and go buck wild. Another thing to mention is I have seen this a lot with not having all the plants, making it hard to rank them. I use a Bluestacks emulator hack to give me all the plants for free. Kinda cool lol.

Other people have mentioned it, but Magnifying Grass is a really good plant… but only under specific setups. You’re gonna need to have a lot of Sun Producers and stallers (And maybe a secondary attacker for the early-game) to actually make Mag viable; Running it on its own is almost always a deathwish. But if you do have the right Plants on hand, Mag is an absolute powerhouse. If I remember correctly, it deals roughly the same damage per shot as Citron, but without the cooldown in-between. As such, once you’ve built up enough sun, you can just shred through most Zombies in at most 5-6 shots. You can even automate Mag setups a bit with Shine Vine, since the latter can cause the former to fire a single shot at random intervals. So yeah, in the right setup, Mag is an absolute beast, but I hesitate to call it one of the best Plants in PVZ 2 due to how inflexible it can be at times. Also, about Bowling Bulb, it’s pretty solid at LVL 1, despite what most players say. The reason LVL 1 Bulb is so unpopular is that most players try to use it as a primary attacker (And I’m pretty sure PopCap intended it to be one), but it honestly just sucks as a primary attacker at LVL 1. It works a lot better and is way more fun to use as a secondary attacker. though I will admit there are better options for that role. Also IDK if you’ve unlocked it (Or if you can even unlock it still), but Bamboo Spartan and Kiwibeast become a lot better once you unlock Aloe since the latter can heal them without reverting them to their earlier stages.

Intensive Carrot is slightly different from Aloe because it can still heal plants, but only when they're eaten, burnt, or ran over, etc. So Aloe's role is healing and Intensive Carrot's is pretty much reviving.

pretty sure citron deals 250 more damage, making it able to 1 shot coneheads and 2 shot bucketheads, with magnifying grass needing an extra shot for both

Tbh with Guacodile you can pretty much just ignore its shooting attack. The plant's main strength is the rush he does when it takes damage, as its a very powerful attack that damages the whole lane. You should be trying to use itmore as something like Jalapeño or Cherry Bomb in that sense, palce it somewhere with a ton of zombies and do a lot of damage to all of them. It doesn't do as much damage as the other two, but its recharge time is much much faster, making it easier to spam Can also be combo'd with Stallia, Sap-fling or freezing plants since when zombies are slowed down, it can deal more DPS to them

I noticed you doing the same mistake two times (one with laser beans and the second with magni). Put your sun producers on the front. Unless an attacker is melee, has very short range or is split pea it's better to be in the back. Think of sun producers as non defensive walls. They don't effect you as much if they are lost. If you lose an attacker it's almost guaranteed that lane is lost

Magni Grass is an easy S tier, but only if you're a macro player, as at that point it's all you need to beat any stage, and then you can just bring sun producers/insta's (aside from gimmick levels or whatnot), otherwise it's lower ranking makes sense. Bowling Bulb is definitely a plant that gets ranked insanely high thanks to it being levelled, as instead of the weakest bulb being the first to regrow, its the strongest one instead, which gives it a major damage spike. Guacodile actually serves really well as a pseudo jalapeno, it deals really strong damage and it's surprisingly effective if you use it less like an offensive, and more like an insta.

It’s meant to be used on tankier zombies like knights to get the most out of the sun, and when you do that it’s not bad as a secondary sun producer. Solar sage enlightens any zombie (apart from some exceptions like gargs) on its tile, so you can plant it on a tile with a bunch of zombies to kill all of them. Sun production also stacks too. Its plant food enlightens a 3x3 area and can literally wipe out crowds of zombies and produce more than enough sun to fuel the rest of the game idk why it's worthy of d tier 😥😥

Not a horrible list, the main reason why magnifying grass is so good is because he was balanced on the game giving you 25 sun from the sky and sunflowers. They made it 50 and you can spam sunflowers and mow down enemies. I don’t really like manual plants though and it’s hard to use so yeah it’s s but for power level not ease of use. Also enlightenmint is one of the best ones, and Solar sage can h it multiple zombies, just put it directly on them

i would argue spear-mint is the best plant in the game, it plants spikerocks at the end of the lawn, is ready at the beginning of the level, and if you need some sun it works as a gold bloom, just shovel the spikerocks

There is an niche use case for regular Snapdragon instead of the Cold variant. If you’re on one of those levels with a condition requiring you to burn zombies, it’s actually pretty helpful. Still doesn’t make it better than the Cold Snapdragon but it’s at least something.

Magnifying grass can be insanely strong cause it actually deals insane damage if you have the sun to use it. When Im using magnifying grass I usually put them in the back and put a bunch of sunflowers in the front and protect them with defensive plants so when zombies start eating my defensive plants they still have to eat like 5 rows of sunflowers while I have time to shoot them with the magnifying grass. The sunflowers also are a good protection against gargs since theres so many of them but they usually arrent a big threat since they only take like 6 or 8 hits from magnifying grass until they die which is 300 to 400 sun to kill a garg in seconds. The only bad thing about it is the high cost at the start of the game and the plantfood also isnt really that good.
