Sr2 is the best Saints Row game, not only because of nostalgia but because of its atmosphere. The feeling of life as you walk the streets of Stilwater immerse you into the world way more than the lifeless world of Steelport. The story brilliantly balanced itself between serious and wacky, you never felt a disconnect in between shooting Carlos as a mercy kill in one minute and killing pimps with an OP foam finger, SR3 just wasted it with the unnecessary amount of jokes that ruined any and all tension in the game. And the story have very little actual missions and making you do all the side missions. It seemed lazy and trying too hard to not be a “gta clone” SR2 will always be the best gangster open world game to me, unbeatable with its story and characters

Fun fact about saints row 2. The reason why it was so broken on pc. Is coz of its port. And they lost a lot of the data. So they couldn’t do any fixes. Till recently. They found the master files. Now they gonna try patching the game. And adding the dlc that the pc never got, I’m not sure when it comes out tho.

#2 is #1 for me, but that's cause I hate all the wacky stuff in the others even if I do admire their willingness to take risks. Would love to see a trilogy that started out like GTA, then had a zombie / monster outbreak towards the end, then second game is immediately ruined city (expanded) with a lot of focus on deep gameplay mechanics, gangs, settlements and stuff to change it up, and then a third installment way in the future where everything is completely ruined and overgrown. That could have been unique whilst also really cool.

You clearly value different things than I do when it comes to Saint's Row. Was SR3 your first introduction to the series? I enjoy the gang/criminal aspect of Saints Row. SR1 was my favorite of the series. The characters in SR1 were amazing, as good as SR2. The gangs in SR1 were just better than SR2. I love SR2, but I hated the Ultor plotline, and the fact you can never reclaim the Row. SR3 is where the disappointment begins for me, I did enjoy a lot of SR3, but it started going crazy with cloning, zombie invasions, military coups. I still enjoyed it though. SR4 was when I believed the series became a complete bastardization of what it once was. If SR4 was not part of the Saints Row series and was its own thing with the same mechanics, I am sure it could have been a great game and I might have even enjoyed it. My main problem was that it completely derailed and erased everything that I used to love about the franchise. Gat Out Of Hell I didn't even bother looking at.

I'm gonna rank mine from the ones I've played. 1: Saints two was way more grounded in reality and had some good humor 2: SRTT Was wacky and funny but still wasn't off the wall crazy yet. 3: SR4 just wasn't fun to me at all. The game felt empty and the whole power thing just was not for me. 4: GOH was just so not it. Note: Didn't play SR1 so I can't form a opinion on it but I hear it's good.

Saints Row 4 is basically the best supervillian simulator that I have ever played. Only there you can feel yourself as a badass dude, who can do whatever tf he wants. Prototype is kinda close to that concept. But my problem with Prototype is that all powers are basically about slashing and smashing stuff around and that's it, really. There is no so much variety of firearms in Prototype as well.

@@katyushasjewishapple6799 2 is still the best in my opinion, I still get back to it to this day. The story of 3 onward is garbage in comparison, no emotional attachment to the characters, nothing. And the games were super short in comparison as well. I bought Saints Row 3 on release, and it felt seriously lacking, then when I got the full package I realized why it felt so severely lacking because they had taken out so much content to be DLCs. SR3 was better once it got all of it's content put back into it, but still miles behind 2.

I remember playing this 5 years ago for the first time after waiting so long and 6 years ago I played the 4th game so much over getting 100% every playthrough that at the time even thinking of the story made me sick! I played it probably 15 times! I got sr3 a year after and LOVED IT I played it at home, at my grandma's house and even swapping gaming rooms! I played Sr3 then Sr4 and in a cycle until a year later I played a few cycles and everything was so burned into my memory that I could say every dialogue out of my head before it happens and I got sad everything felt like reading a sentence for the 100th time! I tried everything from playing with a different character to even trying to play stealth. Nothing worked and I sold SR3 and SR4 to my good friend! He loved it! but now my copies of those wonderful xbox games are probably in someone's home being played day and night or got shoved in a closet by someone. I got the pc version and am now going to replay this game for what feels like the 50th time or more...

SR3 is the best for u? Come oooon dude, it was the first i played too, but... SR2 may has not the best graphics, maybe the player moves weird, maybe the lights & filters suck, but it's still a better game than the third, for the story telling, activities that were nessesary adding hours of gameplay, a city that feels alive & variated & not empty & repetitive like Steelport, NPC's actually making things, customization was better tho, all of that was sacrificed for some better graphics That's why SR2 is better than the Third 👍

It's crazy how divided the community is on the franchise. I found your criticism fair though. 5. Saints Row 2- too dark for me. Frying the hand of the tattoo artist/guitarist. Poisoning the face of Maero played by my baby daddy Michael Dorn and then killing his girlfriend by locking her in the trunk of one of the cars that crashed at the Rally. They really messed with the Brotherhood harder then I think they needed to. 4. Saints Row- gameplay was gimmicky. hardest game for me to play. 3. Saints Row 3- don't know why they had to kill off Johnny Gat or put zombies in this game but I had a lot of fun otherwise playing this game. Saving Shaundi, I felt was the truest ending of the story. 2. Saints Row Gat Out of Hell- if you love 4, then this game just gives you more of that. 1. Saints Row 4- my favorite game of all time. It's entertaining. You are no longer a street gang but a crew fighting an alien invasion via virtual reality that gives you super powers. Sure, it's Steelport but you have powers and 95% of the time it's dark so it feels like a totally different experience. I hope there is another story out there where the Saints find a way to save Earth and bring their friends back.
