I ranked every pack for The Sims 4, The Sims 3, The Sims 2 and The Sims. This is a Sims tier list ranking all Sims DLC. Which are the best and worst packs for The Sims? This Sims tier list is what I think the best Sims packs are.

Looking back it was weird how all the sims 2 expansion packs used to come with a random occult whether or not it had anything to do with the rest of the pack. Late night & vampires and pets & werewolves make sense but apartments and witches was such a random combination.

They were more like a bonus thing, just re skin sims with some special effects. People say mermaid from sims 4 is bad but occults from sims 2 were very simple.

​@@augusto7681what do you mean? They had depth tho? In sims 2 you had good witches, bad witches and neutral ones, they all had different clothes and different powers. You could bless some sims or wreck them completely with curses. You could also have special cats as familiars. So much chaos and drama, it was perfect.

Sims 3 Future pack is at least an A tier, I think. Mainly because it adds Bella Goth lore to the game!

Apartment Life may seem strange but there is a good reason for the apartment/witches pairing. Because it was the very last pack released for the Sims 2, they asked the community what we wanted then mushed as much of it into the pack as they could 😅

The Sims 2 Open for Business is my favorite as well. So simple to start playing but it was so detailed and well made. I like how leveling up employees was quite hard and they were mostly useless at the beginning, it made it more challenging and rewarding.

gosh, i remember my grandma buying me and my twin the sims 2 and 3 expansion pacs in grocery stores for like 20€... over the years it just became a small bookcase of cds. but we'd play these games for hours as kids and had an absolute blast. it's why i was so sad when seeing how bad the sims 4 was upon release... and honestly still is (personal opinion). it feels like it lacks any soul or ambition. i just stick with the sims 2 and 3 at this point. my absolute fave is still *sims medieval* though. would love to see another let's play from that ngl! 🤎

I personally think Discover University is the worst Sims 4 pack minus the two obvious outliers. Its content does not make up for the fact that this was not an enjoyable experience and has no merit over Sims 2 and 3’s Uni packs. Honestly a terrible experience and reminded me of the worst parts of university rather than then exciting parts I cherish the most.

as someone who purchased like two sims 4 packs, it's not worth it, personally. but at least wait for a sale and buy them in bundles? there's a few mods that have more content than any expansion pack, so getting those is also quite fun! 🤎

Did you know only Sims 3 snow has real depth? Sims will walk knee-deep in snow if there has been a heavy snowfall. Just want to protect Seasons ...❤

And this is the comment I was looking for! I haven’t played Sims 2 Seasons, so I can’t comment on it, but I was always very impressed with how well the actual weather worked for the Sims 3 version. And even after years of playing, I still occasionally notice something new - like how the tire tracks through the snow are more pronounced on busier streets!

get famous is one of my all time favorite packs for the sims 4. i love how it has a lot of cross pack play, an active career, and how it makes every single hobby kind of a career in itself bc things like selling paintings can get you famous ykyk so i agree that it’s not bad. the sims 2 ikea and h&m stuff were so good imo

So, I have to say that for Sims 1, personally I would have it all in S (though I can't remember what S stands for) or at least A, because they all added something to the game, something BIG for the game. Sims 2, I'm watching with my niece and asked her which of Sims 2 could we live without and she said none of them, again they all had things that I literally play all the time in that Sims 2, we truly can't think of anything that we literally do not want, some lower or higher, but nothing we don't want. We talked and decided we could live without the stuff packs for Sims 2 and we agree that the apartments in Sims 2 was the best apartments in the franchise. We've agree with most of the Sims 2 packs BUT actually disagree with Island Paradise because unless you download and work with it then it doesn't work right and for that we say it should D, while Showtime came with a lot and wasn't buggy and should be at minimum C but we lean toward B. We totally disagree with Into the Future being D, we play it all the time and love it, we feel the popularity for it should not be a ranking reason. Sims 4. Before watching the Sims 4 section I paused it and asked her which of the Sims 4 packs should be S tier, she said none. We think out of all of the packs, including the supernatural packs that we love, for adding to the game overall the ones we think are the top for Sims 4 is Get to Work and City Living, maybe Cottage Living but just because its our favorite. Size of Sims 4 packs cannot be counted when in Sims 2 and 3 you can add lots not bulldoze and build something else. The others you have in A, we think should be B. Gamepacks we mostly agree, stuffpacks we agree. Overall we MOSTLY agree with you. Personally, I totally disagree with TS1 Living Large, it was the first expansion and it added loads to the game, they were all random, yes, but all had their own animations and just everything added to the game. But that's just me.

I played this pack briefly for a few months. I think is very interesting how most of the eletrctronics are futuristic, its not just a different design, but they work differently, like you print food and sleep in a sleep pod. I felt like playing a totally new game.

i love the sims, i played every single pack of every sims game and i don‘t understand how this video is only 12 minutes, i could talk for 12 minutes only about the sims 3 generations, i think tierlists like this (where you talk about idk 60 packs?) should be way longer especially when someone is very passionate about the topic or knows a lot about it.

DA2 still had really beautiful writing to compensate for the lack of gameplay. (And not to mention the music!) I struggle to choose which cast was more charming, DAO's or DA2's. DAI was good gameplay-wise and it had some stellar moments, but the music fell flat most of the time. The characters, while good, suffered from the generic writing. And not to mention it heavily deviated from its dark fantasy origins. DAI was good despite EA and Bioware, not thanks to them.

... you don't understand Freetime very well, do you? That pack added so much: hobbies, secondary aspirations, new crafting stations and talent badges. The theme of the pack was basically giving sims more personality. It would be controversial to put it in A tier, d tier is just funny. And Apartment Life is a really solid pack too, though if you don't like apartments i can see it rating low. (Am i going to defend s2 Pets? No. I'd put it in C too. Weakest sims 2 EP by far.)

I know all of the features of Freetime pretty well but when I first played it in 2000s, I didn't really enjoy it for some reason. So I can relate to Satch's opinion. As for the pets...Idk. I think Sims 2 pets were good. There were not only cats and dogs but also other pets and animals like hamsters, parrots and skunks. It also added the werewolves. So it wasn't a really bad pets pack. Sims 3 of course is the best imo. I think the Sims 4 pets pack is the worst out of all 3 because it only adds cats and dogs. And there are almost no strays which is also sad.

Honestly I agree with so much there. Especially all TS1 stuff being top tier. I love this game to pieces for exactly what you said: character. It had all these weird hilarious items like all these balloon chairs and sofas, and I remember trying to create appropriate rooms to fit all the things in. I remember Makin' Magic bringing these bizarre wallpaper + floor combinations like skeleton wallpaper or one that looked like roots in the ground so I could pretend the room was constructed out of bones or underground. Also The Sims Medieval is S tier. Even the gutted build & no family creation cannot dim its brilliance.

Agreed. And also it had a lot of small animals like different kinds of birds, rodents, lizards which you could catch in the wild and keep them as pets. I liked that cats and dogs had a hunting skill and could catch one of those small animals that you could take from them too. 😅

Into The Future is the best pack! The portable computer & hoverboard are essentials for me. Building a robo nanny to watch the kids while I'm at work is also quite fun and makes things easier.

I agree with the majority of your choices. Sims 2 is also my favorite overall…I never bought the stuff packs (or many of them) cause I’d just download CC or mods. Sims 3 was not as good, but very enjoyable in it’s own way. I was given Sims 4 as birthday present…I’d seen the reviews and was passing until at least some expansion packs. I did play the Base Game, then ignored it for two years, and played Sims 2 and Sims3. I will disagree with you on all the Seasons packs…I’m a sucker for weather, lol.

You did Sims 2 Apartments and Freetime dirty. They are like a B tier. You could literally do apartments and it had spiral staircases and a secret bookshelf. And Freetime had a hobby system and it came with so much stuff. Also I feel you don't know the meaning of STUFF packs, they obviously only come with "stuff"/objects. They are not supposed to have any gameplay. Sims2 Mansions and Garden came with solar pannels and wind turbines and it could actually save energy and you could make money out of it after some time. Sims 3 Pets could be better, but it had a nice variety of small pets, you could even get pets around the worlds, which was great and even an unicorn, like an actual magical one, not like in sims4

Seriously? Into the Future was the second best expansion in TS3. It was unique, gave meaning to all the other stuff, gave a ton of new things to do and unlike Batuu it let you take things back to the past.

No other Sims games would exist without Sims 1, and when it came out it was something amazing never before seen, so yeah it’s definitely S-tier even if it seems sad when compared to later Sims games.
