I mean Delphox is my favorite gen 6 starter. Greninja went through the whole oversaturation thing being both added in Smash 4 and getting some weird mega evolution but also not mega evolution in the anime becoming Ash Greninja. Chesnaught just looks really weird to me. I might just be a furry in that case though because Incineroar became one of my favorite pokemon and then became my second favorite, right behind Lucario, after seeing it in the anime and it getting added to Smash Ultimate. Its part Psychic typing is really nice and I don't generally get the chance to use them Since I always have the starter, Lucario and Garchomp on my team and I usually don't really but that much thought into the rest of my team and just make sure types don't clash to much. I was always the person who avoided using things like Psychic and Dragon types to avoid making the games too easy. Then I fell in love with Garchomps design and that went right out the window along with all the pokemon I've obliterated with my Garchomp over the years. TL;DR Delphox is a fine pokemon. My favorites are Lucario, Incineroar and Garchomp in that order.

I love the whole Rowlett line and though I haven't played X/Y, I really like Greninja. Frog ninja is honestly the best final starter evolution out of the whole bunch. The way his tongue scarf compliments his eyes while also giving contrast to the blue and yellow make him look vibrant compared to the other two. Delphox looks cute in theory, but it's not nearly as eye-catching as Greninja. Chesnaught...I don't like at all.

Personally I think that Gen 3 has the best set of starters. One of the few gens where I feel like I can pick any of these three and won't regret not picking the other. Gen 1 I like all the starters, but I always go with Charmander. Gen 2 again I like all of them, but Chikorita peaks as Bayleaf, so Cyndaquil or Totodile. Gen 4 I like all the starters, but Infernape is the only good fire Pokemon for a long time in Diamond, and I actually like Piplup's final evolution most. Gen 5, honestly I'd throw them all in the garbage. Snivy's cute, but it's final evolution doesn't do it for me, Tepig...pass. Oshawott is good til you get Samurott. Samurott isn't bad, but it just doesn't feel like that's his final form, almost like this was the design of another Pokemon and they just decided to use it for the water starter. Gen 6, throw them in the garbage, except for Greeninja, he is pretty cool. Gen 7 grass wins it all the way, even the middle evolution isn't too bad. Litten is good till you reach his final form, and the water one is just bad until the final evolution and even then it doesn't look like a starter. And throw the gen 8 starters in there, first evolutions are pretty good, grass is pretty probably the best middle, and the fire has the best final, but that's like saying one turd is less smelly than the other two, they're all pretty poor.
