It's probably one of the most unique soundtracks. How? It got TWO different soundtracks. One for the Japanese(might be more countries-) version and one for the US(might be more as well-) version. In my opinion, they're both great. Japan has more banger songs, and US has more atmospheric songs.

The reason why Sonic Adventure's music was so varied was due to the levels being so varied. We got ancient temples, beautiful beaches, Eggman Airplane Co, casinos, and a theme park. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has a soft spot for the Shadow the Hedgehog soundtrack. I feel as though regardless of the game's direction, the music still suits it very well.

@@traktor420 Okay well that's a much better start but... Really? You're going to call songs you've only really heard once "generic"? They do have a basic formula if you will, a dramatic/moody backing track with different moods of lyrics depending on the song. I do know for certain that Moonlight Battlefield is probably the most popular of them all.

Some of Forces actually sounded amazing in my opinion. I loved Sunset Heights and the Zavok boss battle music was actually kinda cool. Fist Bump was good except for when it interrupted other stages

There are some tracks from Forces I would probably love if the instrumentation wasn’t garbage. The melodies I can get behind, the instrumentation kills any enjoyment. Heroes and Mania are both fantastic. Heroes was my first Sonic game and sometimes I would boot up the game just to listen to the sound test.

I think it's less a matter of it always being good and more that it's unprecedentedly insane a surprising amount of the time. Like the Sonic R OST is just a really good old-school EDM album. It's like 3 lyrics away from being completely unrecognizable as a soundtrack for a Sonic game.
