True, but Generations also has the ability to change songs for stages... and... they didn't include Casino Night WHAT THE HELL? they gave us classic Green hill and Chemical plant, stages not in the game like flying battery or mushroom hill that's in the 3ds version LIKE CASINO NIGHT! One thing I hope for (high hope... unlikely Sega thought that much about it) especially with Nintendo's axing of the 3ds/wii u, including the 3ds stages. Not impossible, after all the Biolizard was a boss in the 3ds, and was in the G X Shadow trailer, just... it's Sega.

No it is Mecha Sonic, that's right lol, probably like a prototype, especially depending on where you placed CD back in the day. Me personally CD came after 1 before 2, Robotnik out the gate made the perfect doppelganger, but it failed. So he tries going a different route, Metal was all about speed, but the mecha line, this and 3's, are more about power, taking the weaknesses of Metal and making something more durable. However this still failed so he goes back and gets Metal from Little Planet, leading to the Adventure games, then Heroes.

I heavily love that he tells you that he is awful at the game and does not try to pretend that he is good. That makes the video heavily genuine, especially when he self admits he abused the "Modernized Features" of "Rewind Time" Sure it is not authentic but he's a grown male with limited time that he mentioned that little Timmy can spend all time memorizing the whole title and make repeat playthroughs.

... I have never understood the love behind Chemical Plant, I hated it as a kid, I hate it now especially with it being pandered all over the place like Green Hill, it has always caused me PTSD and is responsible for the drowning sound PTSD... that's twice the PTSD twice the suffering... sad but true, I mean as an adult I love Aquatic Ruin because I know music now, beautiful but... yeah couldn't tell you why, but it probably the most forgetable Sonic 2 stage, it's not giving you PTSD like Chemical Plant or Metropolis, but also not a jam like Emerald Hill, Casino Night, or Mystic Cave (honestly Mystic Cave probably falls into either or both, trauma and jam). ... I am American... and now I am having PTSD, this is also one of my least favorite stages. Sonic 2 everybody, you love the stages or hate them, no in-between unless you're that screeching hillbilly in Hilltop Zone.

Ye, Emerald Hill always the better Green Hill, and one reason that shows Sega used to do better when it came to sequels... but for some reason they're allergic to sequels now. At 8:38 yes... however the rings in the stage also respawn, so you can actually farm lives and emeralds, get all of them and a bunch of lives before Chemical Plant. This is where Sega proved they did what others could not not just Nintendo. People always say OH SONIC'S ALL ABOUT GOING FAST LAAAAME I'M GOING SLOOOW (lookin at you Game Grumps lol) however that's not necessarily true. It's his catchphrase, his moniker, just like Mario is jumpman, Megaman is shoot man, but they do other things. Both Sonic sequels took aspects of Sonic 1 and molded them into a more refined experience, CD goes full in on the exploration you have to slow down and back track occasionally. Meanwhile 2 incorporated this into it being fast. Sonic has always been about exploration, and 2 shows this extremely well, you take an upper route you got more treats, rewards, more checkpoints rings etc. Take a lower route it's more difficult, more treacherous, pitfalls spikes and baddies. You go in the middle route it's faster, but true speed runners mix up going straight and narrow and up for whatever fits them. Sonic isn't about speed... it's moving at your own speed. When you get good, you will be faster guaranteed. Even more apparent when Tails is a brand new little brother concept, yeah he's basically useless, but it makes you feel included especially since you probably suck, my brothers would get frustrated, but when I would slow down, or let them take care of the baddies it made them feel more happy.

6:00... I wonder if he's heard about the fan made remakes... either Mr Soda has not or is avoiding them on purpose, of which I can respect if latter HOWEVER... Sonic 1 Absolute, 2 Forever, and 3 AIR, definitive ways to play Sonic 1, 2, and 3 especially when you get those community packs. 2 includes Metal Sonic a few other flavorful things I can't remember, 1 community pack still work in progress but adds new map layouts for some stages like you can fly over Marble Zone and there's obstacles for Tails and Ray... did I say Ray? Oh yeah, JMighty, and Ray are playable from that community pack too, while Amy I believe is in the base game, with honestly a more fun move set than Origins' Amy, knock yourselves out.

Shadow and Amy are there because they also used it to promote Sonic Adventure 2, you could unlock art from the game and a trailer or a couple... another reason it's better than Origins, it gave you fun little unlockables not related to the games even in this collection. I mean I guess Origins Plus kind of did this including the Mania animated series and Mighty and Ray Mania trailer but... that's not promoting since Mania came out before Origins 1, and 2 it just makes us want those characters in Origins more. Hell you can even find their sprites in the game, one of the special zones (forgot which... Blue Spheres maybe?) indicates Ray and Mighty were intended to be playable in the game. One thing Origins could've had going for it over Mega/Gems Collection, new characters, instead all we got is Amy.

Mmmhmmmm, every time someone would say Origins was good, and oh they nailed it, or so I had no room to complain about how bad it was... this here is a collection that had like 15 games, trailers, art, the music is gorgeous, THIS is a celebration and worthy Sonic Collection, Gems too but ehh it's not quite as much as this... but still leagues above Origins. Along with it was cheaper than 40$, and ya can't say inflation as an excuse because Mega Collection today would sell for 40$, and still has more than Origins even after the Plus additions. It would've made more sense to just rerelease this for 10-20$ on stores, because that's about how much Origins is worth. Watered down ports of the mobile versions that are free with ads... or 3$ each. Along with counting 3&K as 1 game (vs this, you Rob complain that oh what's the point of having them seperate... just a neat option lol, maybe you want just the 3 Michael Jackson soundtrack, or just S&K at least the option is there to try all 3 variants... stupid you need to play both so many times to unlock combined, I'd say just beat each game once as Sonic and/or Knuckles, then the combined unlocks). Mega Collection wasn't just a Sonic collection done right... it's a video game collection done right. Yeah the music the feels, even as a kid gave you nostalgia vibes, which is why in this slideshow I made of Sonic 1, CD, 2, 3&K I used these songs to go with it, as a trip down memory lane.
