I think it's worth mentioning that Venusaur will likely get even more use once its GMax form is legal. GMax Wildfire's effect is (almost) the same as Fire Pledge when paired with Grass Pledge. Therefore it's highly like GMax Venusaur's move will be the effect of Water+Grass Pledge: "...create a swamp on the target's side of the field for four turns. This swamp quarters the Speed of all Pokémon on that side of the field." I'm no VGC expert, but considering the important of speed control, that seems INCREDIBLE

@@Knicks518 Honestly when I saw that leak it annoyed me more. Physical sceptile is cool, but I don't think dragon dance will help much at all. The reason being is that in the case of mega sceptile it already out speeds most pokemon with 427 max speed, except for some scarf Pokemon. Even still some scarf or plus 1 speed Pokemon are still slower than him. This is why he's a good revenge killer usually. The other issue is that while 110 attack is pretty good generally, when you need to set up, you need to make sure that you are killing something or doing a lot of damage and tanking a hit. However sceptile's biggest issue is that it lacks power and he isn't bulky, especially since it can't hold an item, so using Swords dance over dragon dance more sense. When taking into account regular sceptile, swords dance is still better because it only has 80 attack and with 120 speed he's doing fine in the speed department. You could try and click it twice, but you might not survive hits, sceptile is meant to revenge and switch, any boosting move just helps him become more of threat and instigate sweeps. Dragon dance is ultimately just meh. I've done so much testing on sceptile it hurts, since he's my favorite, that's why I know dragon dance won't help. If anything he needs a good special boosting move.

I mean, the pseudo-legendaries are almost universally extremely solid Pokemon at worst. Even the ones with 4x weaknesses (Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Dragonite, etc.) are still powerful enough to muscle their way fairly high in the meta due to their stats and movepools alone (or their abilities, in the case of Dragonite.) I doubt any of them would be below C-tier.

@@gursirat_singh_2048 Yeah, but I'd argue the severity of the weakness changes a lot based on what said weakness is. For instance, Tyranitar and Hydreigon are weighed down a lot more heavily by their weaknesses than Dragonite--Ice is a far less common type in higher tiers than Fighting or Fairy, and if you do encounter a pokemon with an Ice-type move, it probably won't be a STAB move. Combine this with Dragonite's Multiscale, and it's not nearly as crippling. On the other hand, Tyranitar will get bodied rapidly by Fighting-type STAB, especially if the user's a special or mixed attacker, and it doesn't really have much in the way of coverage against them to my knowledge. And poor Hydreigon got slam-dunked down to UU in gen 6 and 7 just from to the sheer prominence of powerful fairy types. Flash Cannon was pretty much a required move for Hydreigon, and even that couldn't fully protect it. (Also, IIRC Kommo-o is another pseudo-legendary without a 4x weakness.)

But Meganium is still one of my top 2 least favorite Pokemon. It's move pool is bad, it has a bad ability, it has base line stats and it's a grass type. The typing wouldn't be that bad since bulky grass types are generally good but it actually hurts this Time Because of everything else I mentioned.

@@jdamourep adding Fairy type might ruin the aspect of the Johto starters staying pure typed In terms of buffing Meganium I have a couple of ideas: Boost Base HP from 80 to 90 (making the total the same as Swampert) Give it a NEW ability; maybe something that extends screen move duration to 8 or 9 turns In terms of moves it should get an AOE sleep attack (won't work on Grass types) to indirectly reduce damage the whole team gets (75 or 80 accuracy perhaps) Or a move that serves as Reflect and Light Screen put together (might need sun or rain to START the screens but will stay even if the weather fades to prevent the ability from being useless)

I don't really feel like Meganium needs moves made for it, it just needs a deeper move pool. A different ability also goes a long way. If Rillaboom didn't get grassy surge I would imagine it would fit Meganium very well (why does Rillabook get grassy surge?).

Serperior always feels like a cheat to me; it's like Speed Boost Blaziken but even worse, in that it's good purely because of a hax ability. I wonder where Serperior would rank without Contrary? I'd guess D at the very best

@@90Rush Torterra is mediocre, I say this a huge fan. If anything Sceptile is my favorite and he needed to be switched with feraligator. When Megas aren't involved he doesn't really have a reason to be high. Feraligator has competition but just as a mon with sheer force, dragon dance, water stab, and decent bulk its good. But in vgc, I guess it's because he lacks the move pool.

Jigglypuff Would be nice but that’s the easy way out. Plus, Tangrowth is already a thing, and is physically bulkier than Meganium (probably specially bulkier too if it equips an assault vest) Meanwhile, Friend Guard has eight users, with Vivillion as the only fully evolved user and the bulkiest user is an eviolite Clefairy. The ability needs more distribution, and meganium needs something to make it usable. Two Pidgeys with one Rock Throw.

Decidueye really should have gotten the sniper ability because it get access to leaf blade and shadow claw giving it the critical chance plus it thematically makes sense. It also should have had its stats switched around so its attack and special attack were 100 and its speed was 107
