Most buildings for large and huge cities in RTW take more than 5 turns to construct so the mausoleum is actually a nice bonus, it's completely useless for barbarians though
@comewatchfights91124 жыл бұрын
Really useful, but late game only.
@scroggin923 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I would have had it higher as it allows you to develop your larger cities much more quickly.

While watching this, I realized how much you love what you're doing. You could have easily sticked to a normal campaign instead of making such a video but you preferred to surprise everyone and do this time consuming one. I don't even know a lot for you but for the last 3 months, I'm waiting night-time to lay down in bed and enjoy your new video. I know that I might not be the first one saying such words but I hope it will give you courage to continue your hard work. :)

I hope they add Wonders in a potential Medieval 3 both universal and faction specific. For example some wonders would be present from the get-go, like the colosseum or the pyramids while others could be constructed only by certain factions when having the required settlemen and technologies (let's say you play as Al-Andalus and own Seville: then you can construct the Alcazar, or if you play as a crusader state and own Jerusalem, you can build the Kerak)
@MelkorGG4 жыл бұрын
I hope so to : )
@luissalcedo64934 жыл бұрын
You kind of do that as Himyar when building and maintaining the Marib Dam. Might be a good thing to add for factions.

Attila's unique cities are not only "cosmetic". Rome and Ravenna provide 10% extra wealth from culture in their regions. Constantinople provides extra morale when defending and extra holdout time (added to the fact that it's already a difficult city to take). Ctesiphon provides 3% civil developement and more growth factionwide.

@@firehawk8521 Recruit peasants, bomrush them into cities, disband for pops. Now you have pops to upgrade, rush gov buildlings + barracks (but dont rush marian cause that also buffs others). Stack principes with bodyguard cav and a few auxiliaries to absorb damage. You can learn the patterns and spots of rebel ships and skirt around them, I did that for practically all of them when I was doing the "Conquer Britain as Seleucia and fully migrate there in 32 turns" challenge. Generally try to be slightly in defecit and constantly covering it by missions + conquest. If you can micro cav well take young generals alone against small rebel groups to clear them and gain good traits from winning difficult battles. These can help govern booming cities that baracks-rushed.

Most likely they had seen it, it’s in the Salisbury plains which is near to Winchester which has been a pretty key city in England for the last 2000 years.

It would be awesome if, like Rise of Nations, this game also had a mechanic similar to the "nation powers" mechanic in RoN, associated with each wonder. That would mean 4 faction bonuses to begin with, and some more perks to steal along the way from other factons' wonders. Or: If each wonder bonus was somehow a resemblance of its folklore or mythology.
@tenchimuyo694 жыл бұрын
Also can confirm that the pyramid does still have a function in Barbarian Invasion. But its benefit is mostly just upon initial conquest, so it doesn't do much for the ERE. Anyone who captures it gets a faction wide public order buff, even if only temporarily. Very useful if you are West Rome.

A few errors: 1. I think the lighthouse in Rome 1 is global. I was chasing a Roman fleet around the North Sea and was gradually falling behind. The Romans owned Alexandria. 2. Culture penalties never exceed 50% from what I see. They never get lower than 25% (I sometimes see 20%) unless you upgrade the city to the next higher level. 3. Distance from capital penalty gets up to 80% then stops growing, rather than 60%. Great video and channel. I still play Rome 1/Barbarian Invasion/Alexander so it is nice to learn a few tidbits now and then.

I'm surprised that you didn't include wonder in Napoleon total war. In that game every playable faction can construct the wonder in their capital. For example,Napoleon French empire can construct Arc de Triomphe in Paris and it will give you +5% movement point to your armies. Another wonder I remember is Nelson's memorial which can be constructed in London, and it will give you a fleet bonus

I tend to value the colossus a bit more than the statue of Zeus in Rome 1 simply because I never feel like I have significant public order problems that can’t be solved with lowering taxes or building a larger garrison. What does both of those take? Money. What does the colossus give you? Free money. However, my favorite faction to play on the campaign in RTW is Macedon so I’m kind of used to starting with the statue of Zeus so I never really feel it’s absence unless I’m just not playing as Macedon
@zapdragon234 жыл бұрын
I say the colossus is best because while yeah normally I could have 100k in the treasury and 10 armies, one of the easiest ways to solve public order in rome1 is to spam garrison units. so the colossus indirectly gives a public order boost. also the colossus scales while the statue of zues is fixed and as you said is worth less late game.
@tenchimuyo694 жыл бұрын
In RTW1, Greece and Anatolia were powerhouses of economic and public order wonders that seriously broke the game if you took and hold the region as early as possible. Which is easy to do if you are any Roman or the Greek faction. Even if you are Red or Blue Romans... go for Greece. Playing Carthage? Go for Greece.
@carl-os46034 жыл бұрын

My wife and I call the Aegean area the "Golden Quadrilateral". If you draw a line from Appolonia to Byzantium to Rhodes to Crete back to Appolonia you will find that if you own this area by mid game you will be swimming in cash. That happened to me when playing the Greek Cities. I suddenly went from a shoestring budget to all the armies I needed to win the game.

The Artemis Temple decreases cost by 30 % percent per religious building in each settlement. A Huge economic edge in a long campaign. Remember what our least favorite Marx brother taught us; Religion is the OPIUM of the Masses. And your getting your opium buildings over other Factions at a 30 % discount. Yum-Yum. Plus all the extras the Temples bring to your Factions. Marcel
