Finally someone who mentions the Silver PP7 and the Gold PP7. Those weapons always seem to be left out in ranking lists for some reason; I guess probably because they are cheat weapons and thus "don't count" in that way, and probably also because a lot of the casual players never see them.

correction, the shotgun does infact appear in the campaign, its on statue and carried by the janus guards, UPDATE, i never realised there were 2 types of shotgun in the game wtf! i still learn new stuff about this game lol

Fun fact, if you try to reload with some timing as you also try to change weapons with the All Weapons cheat, you can, in fact, wield different weapons at the same time that are not normally wieldable at the same time. This includes: Being able to wield an RCP-90 and an AR-33 at the same time. Boom.

"GoldenEye 007" was incredibly successful and popular when it was released in 1997 - it was practically like the shooter equivalent of "Super Mario Bros.", and almost all my friends played it back then. It has of course aged a bit since then, but it still has a lot of charm and gameplay value.

calling the phantom "awfully forgettable" is utter heresy, i feel like its generally agreed to be one of the coolest guns in the game, especially given that you only ever find it on frigate. it also has a great sound effect, looks really unique and feels really satisfying to use

Agree! You cant get it even in multiplayer, if I remember correct? And in frigate, you dual wield those with 100 ammo in magazines, just brrrrrrrr brrrrrrrr through the level!

I’ve fired a “Klobb” in real life. AKA, a CZ Skorpion vz 61, it was a fun and unique machine pistol to use. The problem is it only holds 20 rounds and fires an underpowered 32 caliber round, plus the rate of fire was quite high.

I still side with the RCP-90 as the best. The zoom of the AR-33 doesn’t make up for the smaller magazine and not as fast firing rate as the RCP-90. Penatraition factor of it is same if not similar for both! Spray and prey all the way for me in this game! 😂

Yeah agree. Especially if you take multiplayer in account too. RCP90 definitely was the BFG9000 of this game. AR33 has good utility in the single player though to take out enemies more tactically.

Moonraker Laser is objectively better than silver PP7. Basically the same stats for damage and penetration but never needs to reload and I think fires faster or just as fast.

If I were to create an "ultimate weapon setlist" in Multiplayer, then I would probably go with this list: 1. Gold PP7 2. US AR33 Assault Rifle 3. RC-P90 4. Moonraker Laser 5. Remote Mines 6. Body Armor This set covers as many different uses as possible in the most powerful ways possible: the Gold PP7 deals fatal damage at high speed, the Assault Rifle penetrates objects and has a good scope, the RC-P90 penetrates objects and has a huge magazine, the Moonraker Laser penetrates objects and has infinite laser shots, the Remote Mines can be detonated whenever you want and can be thrown great distances, and the Body Armor gives you extra protection from damage.

If you allow the all weapons cheat, and the ability to actually dual wield different weapons if you swap at the same time as you reload one of them (causing that weapon to NOT change), then: 1. RCP-90 and AR-33 Dual Wielding. 2. Probably some other fun combo. Also, Goldeneye is basically my goto example of why cheats can be FUN, and should actually have built-in challenges BASED on cheats. i.e. a challenge mode where you cannot melee or use any other weapon than a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo... in a fairly close quarters level.

Being a run n' gun type of guy, the Shotguns in any FPS are always my favorite. In Goldeneye 007, the Automatic Shotgun is a weapon variant of the normal Shotgun (which is not normally found in the game). The Automatic Shotgun fires five pellets ahead of Bond in a cone shape, making it almost worthless at long distances, but extremely effective at short range. The Automatic Shotgun is slightly faster then its original counterpart (Regular Shotgun), and the cone range is not as wide, making it very useful against groups of enemies at short range in open areas. The Automatic Shotgun is superior to the regular Shotgun in every way. It surpasses in terms of accuracy and damage, and has lower recoil and noise. Each pellet does less damage than a normal strength weapon (such as the PP7), but a target hit by all five pellets will take even more damage than if they had been hit by the Cougar Magnum or Moonraker Laser. The Magnum does 2 damage per shot, the Moonraker laser does 2 damage per shot, while the Automatic Shotgun does 3 damage per shot (0.6 damage per pellet, 0.6 x 5 pellets = 3 damage). One shot (5 pellets) from the Automatic Shotgun does 12.5 damage to the head, 6 damage to the body, and 3 damage to the limbs. With 5 shots in the chamber, the Automatic Shotgun makes you an absolute close range freight train, and allows you to one-shot kill at least up to 5 people on average before having to reload. This makes the Automatic Shotgun have the 9th highest damage output/kill potential out of every weapon in the game (10th highest damage/kill potential out of every weapon in the game if you include the Tank Turret as it's own weapon): 1. GOLD PP7 2. GOLDEN GUN 3. GRANADE LAUNCHER 4. REMOTE MINES 5. ROCKET LAUNCHER 6. GRENADES 7. TIMED MINES 8. PROXIMITY MINES 9. AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN Furthermore, If you have 2X Automatic Shotguns (Dual Wielding 2 Automatic Shotguns), that means you have 10 shots before reloading, and you do double the damage per shot when firing both Automatic Shotguns at the same time (6 damage), which means you do 2 more points of damage per shot compared to 2X Cougar Magnums (Dual Wield) and the 2X Moonraker Lasers (Dual Wield). With 10 shots available before reload with 2X Automatic Shotguns (Dual Wield), that means you can dish out up to 30 more points of damage before reloading compared to 2X Cougar Magnums (Dual Wield) and 2X Moonraker Lasers (Dual Wield), and have the ability to one-shot kill up to 10 people on average before having to reload, which just makes you a close quarters bulldozing rampaging monster. Also, as a bonus: The Automatic Shotgun is only found in Statue. The Automatic Shotgun was originally supposed to be available in Frigate, and it was possibly removed for balance reasons. Many pre-release screen shots show the Automatic Shotgun, one of them being a shot of the watch with 6 bars. The Automatic Shotgun appears to be based on the Franchi SPAS-12. When the player reloads the Automatic Shotgun with four shells or less in reserve, the shells in the rack on the gun will be used, but this is a completely cosmetic change; the number of shells in the rack has no effect on the function of the weapon. Although normally only found in Statue, the All Guns cheat allows Bond to obtain it in any other mission. In Caverns, it is possible to find guards with this weapon after Trevelyan escapes into the elevator. (These guards have good taste, indeed). This weapon is dangerous under enemy guards' hands, as being hit from the Automatic Shotgun inflicts the full damage on Bond regardless of range and they fire it much faster than the player. Trevelyan wields an Automatic Shotgun in Caverns, although he never fires it. (A man of good taste, indeed).

@@TWilsonSE in all seriousness, every machine gun (phantom, kf7 etc...) as well as the sniper are way higher ranked than any pistol; the gold pp7 of course is way better than the silver pp7 because the penetration isn't that relevant due to how few situations there are where enemies are behind silver cradles or objects like that compared to regular situations where enemies aren't; the magnum is not even top 20, the laser is top 3; the proximity mines aren't top 15 and the rcp is the best weapon in the game
