I've recently found a passion for SE4 and I knew I was on to something with the Carcano. I traded my Delisle for it mid-mission on a whim and just tore through everything. Your sense of humor is also impeccable. I lost it at every joke and witty line 😂

I'm curious, did you find that any of the lower rated rifles were actually more useful on Survival mode? I'm thinking of the M1 specifically. I didn't ever use it in the game, but in Survival, it is my go-to main gun. And if not, what do you use in the Solo Survival mode?

I'd be interested in knowing what your favorite loadout(s) are for survival mode! You rank the guns VERY similarly to the way I would, so I'm naturally curious as to whether we use the same or similar loadouts for the survival mode. Either way, cheers, well done!

I've recently picked the game up again to finally go for the platinum and while I haven't used most of the Rifles I completely agree on the De-lilse and the Carcano. I remembe that I've used the former for my first playthrough, but I've switched to Carcano for authentic, simply because of better long range shots and a better scope (4x vs 6x) and so far I'm happy with my choice. That being said though, I probably play the game wrong though as I rarely use the Sniper at all as I prefer the up close and personal approach, so knife and Welrod it is for me for most of the time and if things get ugly I use the Thompson M1. In the end it almost completely depends on how you want to use the gun: If you're good a changing targets and want to kill multiple ones in a short amount of time quick reload is essential, but if you only rarely use it, but definitely want to kill the target with one shot looking for the one with the most damage might be better.

Feel like you were a bit hard on the Nagant revolver. If you’re using it as a stealth weapon, you’re only firing a few rounds at a time and can keep it topped up to avoid the unusually-long empty reload animation. I think the damage and accuracy make up for the slow rate of fire and reload

Your top two are the same as mine. Hard to decide between the all around strength of the Carcano and the stealth of the DeLisle.

Here I go, commenting on a 2 year old video. For the weapon attachments, some, SOME, of the attachments hold some small part in history, and if anyone were to have access to obscure, prototype, and highly specialized weaponry, it'd probably be a unit like this

I totally agree with EVERY point you make ! I was just about to uninstall 4 and reinstall 5. Thankyou for reminding why NOT to ! I suppose the only mitigating excuse that Rebellion have is that SE5 was at least partially developed during Covid and everyone was working from home. 5 was so MEH, that there's still Season Pass DLC maps I have never played !

I am actually impressed by the ingame graphics of the uniforms.

What I find so interesting about this series is that none of the games are outright bad; but there's definitely something of a scale. I've been playing since the PS2 game and I definitely think that Sniper Elite 4 is going is my favorite after having played through 5 and then going back.

I actually dislike the linear levels of sniper elite 2. A lot of times you end up in situations that no sniper should be in, often with several enemies aware of your position and just hammering you with fire. It was very difficult to lose them. I still enjoyed the game very much though. I have just finished sniper elite 3 for the first time. The fact that you didn't pick the relocate system as the best feature is crazy. It's so good to be able to fire a shot and then run away without being spotted, of course the enemies won't find you after one shot. Of course it is imperfect, such as set explosives giving away your position, but it's a ps3 game and 100% could have been improved in sniper elite 4. The weapon upgrade system is pretty trash, but I find the muzzle velocity to really make it difficult to find the range. The different guns have wildly different muzzle velocities and that means if you switch guns you can be 50-100 metres out in the aiming. I really do not enjoy using the hold breath and having the little aim assist diamond, you just destroy everything great and challenging about the game, so not being able to find a consistent range with the rifles is quite annoying. Sniper elite 4 introduced the range finder on the scopes which, as afore mentioned, for someone who doesn't want to hold breath and aim assist, is wonderful. You can much more easily take very long shots because you don't have to put the crosshairs way above the victims head, it's calculated, you know that if your target is 110m away then you can click the range finder to 100m and just adjust for the 10m and wind. Tough to find something to dislike about SE4, but having now played SE3 I am unhappy they took out the relocate system, especially as it would suit the more open maps. I have not played SE5 and that's partly because I saw a review that said the sniping had been simplified again to the point that you don't even need to think, it just tells you where to shoot, and if that's true then that's simply terrible. Also the invader system they've stolen from dark souls is horrendous, people online are straight up cancerous and to allow people to just come in and ruin your game just sounds like the worst thing you could ever do.

HDM so low hurts. I am HDM gang. I go for headshots during stealth anyway so the higher damage of Welrod doesn’t matter when one shot one kill no matter what. Why I like the HDM is if I miss my headshot, I can immediately fire a slew of bullets to take out the target before he can alert enemies. If I miss two shots in a row with the welrod, its cover blown, but missing two shots with HDM, I still have a chance to recover.

I will not play this game again because of the mafia shoots at the player . Vice city is much safer in the game . The army is more powerful and will Attack Tommy if he is not wearing a cop uniform .

As much as I love the sniper elite series I don’t think that 5 is “sniper friendly” sure there’s moments here and there but I feel like the game mostly promotes short to medium ranged combat and is more pistol/SMG friendly than past titles.

unless im missing something the night vision scope on the MP44 is a real version that Germany did create in ww2. although in real life it was bigger and the view a lot more fuzzy.

Sniper Elite: Many fond memories of split screen coop on the PS2 and of way to long sessions taking it way to far by Roleplaying it with being set up with the Games manual on various rifle stats and scope calculations next to my pen and pad making notes and some "Rations" aka my snacks.. And obviously I very much did the same thing with Sniper Elite V2. In truth it's become a bit of a tradition for me with all the Sniper Elite games, though I do have to admit that some of them are more suited for it than the others in general playstyle and such.. Sniper Elite 3: Scope Glint was great. It made you really pay attention and be abit more patient. Even more so in the levels where the enemy sniper relocated on his overwatch. Sure it was not that far in distance and it was basicly the same concept as normal soldiers patrol routes, nevertheless it was a much appreciated change of pace and routine. I miss the subtle flash instead of the constant "torch" like the Eye of Sauron or something. Fair enough that in a game like SE5 with the Invasion mode, I do (sort of) get the concept and validity of the "torch".. but I do kind of wish that it was a selectable option. Sniper Elite 5: Now putting aside their choice in stearing much more towards Run & Gun and far to less in being the traditional Sniper, which makes even less sense since they removed Overwatch. What I really don't like is what they did with Tagging objects and enemies.. First, Why remove press Trigger to Mark/Tag? But above all, Why remove the ability to Unmark at all??? The amount of times that I by accident have tagged speakers or something and even though the speakers are destroyed, the tag remains through out the level as a distraction and a eyesore.

I personally liked sniper elite 5's big levels And regarding the axis invasion stuff I turn that off I prefer playing the games story without getting invaded every two seconds It's kinda like the first dying light I don't feel like putting on the night hunter invasion while I'm in the middle of the story And even if I'm done with said story I still choose to keep it off When I think of sniper elite I think of a single player experience I don't feel like getting invaded by sweats who know every little thing about the game Nor do I want to play co-op with anyone I rely on myself in these types of games

What I love the most about hardcore mode is that it lets me kill my own team mates. At least I can kill 3 of them. So I usually save those 3 kills to kill the most sweatiest player in my team 3 times. It is actually a better feeling than dropping a nuke! 🤣 Hardcore mode allows players to exact revenge on the sweats😂😂 And the other thing that I love about the hardcore mode is that people die when I shoot. In the softcore mode, I need to empty a full mag and a half to kill someone point-blank. If it was a real life war, then it would be more closer to the hardcore mode. Because there are no mini-maps or crosshairs in real life and people die when they get shot. Who ever shoots first wins in real life.

What I do with the Valkyries is even more efficient. I blow up the half trucks as soon as they get into the village. That’s why the rocket launcher is so important. Has for the snipers I typically use the remaining rockets I have.
