I love the artwork on Pacific Daydream and really wish I picked up the pattern vinyl instead of the standard black. I enjoy the music as well. I know a lot of people don't like the album for some reason. I guess everything has to sound the same for their whole career.

I saw in an interview Rivers said that he and the band meticulously studied all of these songs so that they could make themselves sound as much like the originals as possible. He didn't give much of a reason other than that he felt that making a Weezer version (aka being creative) would be "way easier" and he wanted the challenge of copying the originals. And that's why I wish teal didn't exist.

I liked hearing Weezer play Take on Me live. Rivers came out in a boat in the middle of the crowd and the instruments died down so that you could just hear the crowd singing.

@@lovely6196 I got that. But I got where Rivers was coming from. I *like* that it sounds similar to original ones, as I also think it's too easy to make these songs in weezer style. They did add their own flair to the covers but I do believe it's what made them fun to listen to. It's fun to compare how Pat replicated the exact rhythm, how they modernized the songs somewhat, how funny it was for rivers to sing scrubs.

Ahh, Weezer's get hip with the kiddies era (forgot about the 'Cars 2' tie-in :)). Would stay up late with my dad watching the original 70's Muppets since he did some puppetry on the side, as he was our church's minister of music. So it wouldn't be farfetched to assume I was stoked for the 2012 live-action interpretation, and its soundtrack. I used to babysit my sister and had 'Yo Gabba Gabba' on constantly. Saw Bootsy Collins and Weird Al on a couple of episodes, also Biz Markie had an entire segment dedicated to using his years as a beatboxer to phenomenal use. Also was heavily into The Key of Awesome, who I'm not surprised is solely responsible for moving copies of 'Raditude', and my nephew was really into Fred.

I have to disagree with a lot of this, but that's because of how I feel about covers. I generally don't like covers, because I like the original versions, or at least the most popular version. So when I hear a cover that is different from the original, I generally just prefer the original. The only excepts is if I don't really like the original song, or if the cover is SO different from the original, that the fact that it is different makes it enjoyable. (Like Jonathon Coulton's cover of Baby Got Back or Dynamite Hack's cover of Boy's in the Hood) So for me, I generally enjoy Weezer covers as they sound a lot like the original, but they have that Weezer vibe to them.
