One thing that I dont see mentioned about Shadows that I believe objectively puts it over maps like DE, Origins and Mob is that Shadows is a starter map. You get Shadows right out of the box where as you have to buy the other maps, and so for people like myself who grew up with very anti gaming parents being able to play such an amazing map right out of the box was amazing, because I sure as hell wasnt going to get any of the dlc maps.

That's a great point I never thought about. But you're definitely in the minority. Most people who played it at launch didn't like how complicated and different it was on the surface level, even myself and I've never been a casual player. It stopped a lot of people from even considering the DLC. But that's not the maps fault necessarily. What it needed was a more basic map to launch with, to ease people into the new mechanics. The Giant doesn't count cause it's just a remaster

I am a blood fan. I’ve beaten the EE at least 5 times solo. I think it looks beautiful and I think the difficulty of the gameplay makes it even better. There’s literally only 3 bad things I could think of which is: 1. No bridge, 2. Bo4 system, 3. Shield/no afterlife.

@@NIKEONXX Forsaken is my personal least favorite map, and I refuse to play die machine or Firebase. Outbreak has aged pretty well but mauer has something they all don’t. Mauer has the old zombies feel, great gameplay, awesome setting for history nerds like me, an interesting wonder weapon, incredible visuals, and an atmosphere I haven’t felt as immersed in since gorod krovi. My only flaw I can find in the map is the fact that the wunderfizz exists. I believe wunderfizz should be an outbreak feature only. Not to mention the Easter egg and boss fight have been the best we’ve seen in a while. Mauer is the only reason I still have Cold War installed. Mauer screams passion and personality. Die machine says “hey we have nacht!” Firebase says “we have a RayK that used to be good but we nerfed into oblivion!” Forsaken says I’m a campaign asset done wrong, with the most forgettable Easter egg, map layout, boss fight, and we have the most brain dead wonder weapon ever!” Mauer is nearly perfect and it deserves a spot up with IX, Mob, Shadows, Gorod, Zetsubo, Origins, and der eisendrache. Feel free to disagree and continue this, I love talking about my opinion on zombies. Damn I actually liked how die machine ends, you go in, figure out all the secrets, and blow the facility so no more harm can be done. Otherwise, when you exfill you basically admitted defeat. Something about it made the map that much more enjoyable to me. Iv probably done the EE over 50 times whenever I wanna play a casual game, beat and Easter egg and not waste an hour stright. Heres the thing about Blood, is it a badly designed map that took a well designed map and altered poorly? Yea. Is it not a fun map for just gameplay? Yes. But, it has maybe the best Easter egg we've ever gotten. Story is incredible and the egg is genuinely difficult. If you are taking story and egg into account, blood has to be a top 7 map

Good flow on the map? both got; 4 unique wonder weapons that are made by quests? both got (of course bows are stronger but in terms of playthrough you do basically a similar thing); good story?? both got; fast and easy map to setup? both are; side easter eggs? both got amazing side easter eggs and i would say Alpha omega have better ones. Rushmore is goated one of the best features ever in Cod zombies history. Someone explain to me why people put shadows at #1. The main EE involves upgrading the sword and that's it. There is no WW upgrade. I think much like how KZbin killed BO4, KZbin makes randos over hype shadows.

I have to agree there. The easter egg sucks. It just does. Also, i will NEVER let them gaslight me into thinking youtubers did not play a role in the death of BO4. I mean their fucking bad arguments is STILL being used by people who never even played bo4.

+MrDuckphart Let’s take out the main EE and see what you get - Layout - Innovative aesthetics and atmosphere ( sound design - perk jingles - round change sfx - color and vibe of the map - time and date setting etc. ) - Flow - Widow’s Probably top 1 perk - Beast mode - Crew & dialogues - Best WW - Probably the most fun Side EE’s - Best zombie variations and Boss - Best map for speedruns Even if you think the ending and reward of the main EE is meaningless i would argue the gameplay and flow of the steps and quest itself for it could be considered more innovative and fun than a whole other map of zombies in that aspect, also BO4 was ruined because of the mechanics and and story ( chaos just sounds like a cookie-cutter rushed off-brand storyline for a zombies game ) better stick to the script and what people are used to and knowing that ending to the main story of zombies ( aether) was TDT is just a huge disappointment and unstability of the game itself at launch was also a main factor to the game flopping , I don’t think the community which 80% of it contains of casuals would be influenced by youtubers that much at that time , i think the community is more invovled now even tho the whole franchise especially zombies is exhausted and dying because people rather point out their opinions on the new COD they just bought rather than protesting and not buying or just playing the older games and staying silent. if you think SOE has a pointless EE and boring high-rounds and no replay value then you should’ve heared something about MWZ my friend , you just gotta give credit where credit is due even though it might sound like any other tier list with grass is green takes and rankings.

1. The map layout flows well and is unique and not some recycled Garbo map from campaign or an older COD game. Not too mention it’s visually stunning. 2. The WW on the map is already the BEST WW of all time, not sure why you’d want to be able to upgrade it especially when you have gobblegums already to give you more ammo. The sword imo is also cool, nothing crazy but it’s cool. 3. I think the introduction of the margwa on this map was also great, it’s probably my favorite boss zombie. 4. Sexy PAP camo 5. It’s a very replayable map with cool mini side EEs like the little Arnie upgrade, margwa hat, getting and upgrading the sword. TLDR; Great map flow and the map itself is beautiful/vibrant. Arguably the best WW in any map. Has a lot to do on the map and with good replay ability ! Maybe it’s not the best map ever but I can understand why it’s a Top 5 for a ton of people

@@the_lord7961 1. the map flow isn't unique. It uses a formula that has been used several times, a central hub with pathways that branch out of it. As seen in Der Reise, Ascension, and Gorod Krovi afterward (I know GK doesn't count). 2. The pap camo is virtually the same as the one on mob.

@@MrDuckphart I meant the map flow is good while the map design is unique. I’ve never seen another map like it. And I said the pap camo is sexy, not that it’s unique
