Fun fact: Einspänner is named after the one-horse carriage used in Vienna, Austria, after WWI. The coachmen would do a quick stop at a café and this type of coffee preparation with the cool whipped cream on top would be ready to drink at an acceptable temperature immediately. The more you know 🌈 😅

Love these recs. I live in Seoul and really need to get around to dragging my husband to more cute cafés like this! I remember visiting Café Layered years ago and being really confused about the 'scones' too 😂 I liked the earl grey frosting but the scone itself was just kinda dry. Glad some of these seemingly overhyped places are actually good!

Good video! I used to love going for a coffee but decaf tea is now my drink of choice. The first one looked the best but the Mamma Mia one while they aren’t promoting a film was the prettiest from the picture you showed.

So funny to see an "Einspanner" so far away!🌍 Here in Vienna (Austria/Europe) it's called "Einspänner" and it is a traditional coffe since forever in our rich-on-history coffee-house-tradition!🙀 Love a real-ratty munch-crunch-video! I’ve been to Cafe Highwaist, the second cafe of Cafe Layered and it was one of my favorites!!! It’s much bigger and wasn’t packed with people. Maybe give that a try next time

i guess 'cafe layered' and 'cafe onion' are two of the most popular and exposed cafes on sns for tourists. so, there's saying, much cry and little wool. it's pretty much the same everywhere you go around the globe. the best of the best always are located in local areas, not tourist area.

I 100% agree with your Cafe Layered review. I couldn't finish my green tea and the cake was dry. Plus, the chair was so uncomfortable. I'm cannot understand how they keep their popularity for so many years...

American scones are kind of weird. I feel like I only like the ones that have some kind of chocolate chip in them, so that when you warm it up the melted chocolate helps to counteract the dryness.

To me, all these reviews are so bad lol. Even the good ones are bad. If I watched this as a litmus test to go to these cafes, I would go to neither lol.
