Ranking my Arena albums

I’ve been a fan since 1998. Have every album and every DVD. Arena have never released a weak album, unlike a lot of prog bands. Their latest album “Theory” is unbelievable…I think it’s my favourite even though I love The Visitor, Immortal, Contagion and Pepper’s Ghost, especially. Damian’s vocals are amazing, powerful, gentle and brilliantly operatic. Would love to hear him sing “Opera Fanatica” live.

Oh, now you mentioned it....yes! Damian singing Opera Fanatica! That makes me wonder...did the band play this one ever live?

Interesting ranking system Marcel, so go on with this. I think we share most Arena favs. My personal fav albums are Songs From The Lions Cage and The Visitor.

Ik ben aan het schrijven en het luisteren . De reis naar de cd zaak was toch vroeger iets moois. Wat een mooie verhalen en verrassende keuzes wel perfect uitgelegd . Ik was ook in Helmond naar 7 jaar geen concert een geweldige kennismaking met Damian.

I’ve been a fan of Arena since Pepper’s Ghost in 2005. They quickly became and have stayed a favorite band of mine. Sowden era is my favorite, likely because that is when I discovered them. There are NO BAD ARENA ALBUMS! Ranking them is so difficult. They are criminally underrated in the Prog world and music in general. They should be MUCH bigger and deserve to be. John Mitchell may be my fav active/living guitarist. Being here in the United States, I haven’t gotten to see them live but I’m dying to and hoping one day it will happen. I could say so much about them but we will be here forever. Here is my ranking: S: Contagion, The Visitor A: Songs From the Lions Cage, Immortal?, Pepper’s Ghost B: Seventh Degree of Separation, Theory of Molecular Inheritance, Double Vision C: Pride, Unquiet Sky D: N/A

Great ranking! And I agree, the band has no bad albums. I do think the album/singer you discover a band with, is likely to become and stay your favourite.

It is interesting talking to like minded Arena fans to see how they rank the albums! It's not easy as you say, there are no bad ones! For me, The Visitor will always be my "deep connection" album so definitely my no.1! Probably Seventh Degree would be no.2 although I go through listening phases so their albums change around all the time!!

I agree! I was a bit worried in making the video, but I love the reactions and see everyone share their favourites. I think the Visitor was actually an A+ tier for me, this is such an amazing album. But the others have a really special connection.

Rob Sowden is also my Favourites. But i muss say Damian gives such a great vibe live. I think Arena get much more bigger then it is now
