Maxey top 10 passer lmao. His assist to turnove ratio only looks decent because he can't pass and doesn't try to unlike good passers like Trae and Luka & hes only averaging 6 assists because he takes the most touches and played the most minutes per game out of everyone last season. Maxey isn't even a point guard anyways, he's a shooting guard playing out of position cos the Sixers are incompetent. Passing is Maxeys biggest weakness so idk how he made the top 10. Hes one of the worst high usage passers in the game. He should be in a top 10 spot up shooters in the nba list but never a top 10 passer in the NBA.

Maxey literally didn't play winning basketball when Embiid was out so that's a poor take to use against LaMelo. Maxey averaged 5 assists per 36 and shot 54 TS% in the games Embiid missed. Both are awful numbers if you are a point guard. Some people just aren't number 1 options on title winning teams. Maxey and LaMelo both aren't. So you can't penalise Melo and then praise Maxey for it ngl.
@StatingFacts-pr1pc18 күн бұрын
Yup. The Sixers had a winning percentage identical to the Hornets last season in games Embiid missed. Maxey was basically getting propped in debates over LaMelo because he plays with a generational talent in Embiid.
@whatshorts18 күн бұрын
who would you put in Maxey's place?
@StatingFacts-pr1pc18 күн бұрын
Embiid, Giannis, Sengun, Booker, Mitchell, Garland, LaMelo, Jimmy, Draymond & Tatum are all better than Tyrese Maxey is at passing. Why do you have Maxey in your top 10 for this? If Maxey could pass, the 76ers offense shouldn't have been diabolical without Embiid yet it was. Embiid had the highest offensive rating out of everyone in the playoffs this season yet the Sixers offensive rating almost halfed whenever he went to the bench.
@whatshorts18 күн бұрын
I hear you. A lot of other people in the comment section agree. I guess I let him off the hook because of Embiid missing. Probably was a pretty big adjustment offensively.
@matthew.kunovic16 күн бұрын
Josh Giddey even with all the turnovers is better than him at passing.
@DionBakanga18 күн бұрын
Maxey isn't good at getting his own shot though. He needs Embiids playmaking and gravity to get him looks. That's why his efficiency was awful without Embiid this season and why it was awful in games Embiid & Harden both missed last season. He's a very poor pull up shooter statistically but he's an incredible spot up shooter. He's more so like Klay Thompson as a shooter than Dame.

LaMelo is better than Maxey is though. He's better at everything other than shooting 3s off the catch. Maxeys efficiency was diabolical without Embiid last season. Shot 8-26 without Joel on the floor in the playoffs and shot 54 TS% without Joel in the regular season. 54 TS% is lower efficiency than Jalen Green averaged last season. Tells you how much reliant Maxey is on Embiid. He wouldn't be an all star if Joel was off the team.

@whatshorts16 күн бұрын
I agree. He really makes you realize how basketball is less about athleticism than it is coordination and vision.
@heims416616 күн бұрын
@@whatshorts Imo, a big part of "athleticism" as it is refered to in basketball, actually is coordination, smooth and accurate body control, balance etc. There are plenty of guys who are tall and can jump high, and run fast as Giannis, but there is only one Giannis, only one Bron and so on. Their crazy phisiques are sort of "unlocked" by small, easy to miss things like body control, balance and coordination. That's why players like Joker and Luka, who maybe lack the obvious "athletisicm" aspects but have the small ones maxed out, to me, are crazy athletic for their size. Both of them got crazy stamina and elite body control.
