Agreed. Caterpie was my favorite pokemon for the longest time, and while it had many contenders that probably actually won out over it, (Dunsparse, Carbink, and Sigilyph being particularly noteable), I would still stubbornly say it was still my overall favorite. That is until Araquanid came out, and for whatever reason, it really clicked for me.

Gen 5 gives you the highest of highs and lowest of lows. They had so much cooking to do in that gen and they let everyone in the kitchen for it

Might be a bit biased, but I don't think gen5 has many misses at all. Sure, pidove and Evos are awful, but other than that I really like, or can at least appreciate, the rest of the Pokemon. Actually, add the monkeys to that list of dislikes, but that's still only 9 Mons. I doubt there's another Gen with single digit dislikes for me.

Played every gen by 9 and nothing will take my love of Gengar away. Always loved the little gremlin, he only got better with amazing Mega and Gigant forms. The only mons that come close are Scizor and Garchomp.

And as a Smash player, I was incredibly disappointed when I found out that Incineroar was in the game, and that fact that he’s annoying to fight against (at least in my opinion) certainly isn’t helping… And the fact that it could’ve been Decidueye (my 2nd favorite Pokémon) makes it worse…

@ I definitely see what you mean. I’m not as big of a smash player myself, but I do agree with you on that front. The few times I have fought against it have been unfun to say the least lol (I am a Kirby main, less cause of the down special and more my love of that little guy). While I do disagree at least to some extent on it being a downgrade from Litten and Torracat, I absolutely see what you mean. Did this about a year ago. Was honestly surprised by how hard some categories were for me while others were super easy. Honestly might should go back and give the list another shot at some point, since while I don't like a lot of the choices of the past two gens, there are some good pokemon there. Also, I have to agree with their comments on Flamigo. I hate that pokemon with a passion because of how lazy it is, but at the same time I have to respect it for the very same reason.
