I bought and returned the Logitech Chorus. Was excited for them until I started to find more and more overtsights. Can't use the link cable? Sucks, but I usually do wireless PCVR anyway thru Virtual Desktop. At least it allows for power passthrough, right? Eh...not quite. I found out very quickly that you cannot use the headphones and charge the headset with the passthrough at the same time. At least not with my setup. The moment I plug in an external battery (or even the link cable just for the powerr), the Chorus cuts out and it swaps back to the built-in speakers. Having power running into the passthrough port BEFORE plugging the main USB-C into the Quest itself at first seemed to do the trick as the Chorus speakers started right up. But then I found the headset wasn't charging. The use-case of the Chorus is so limited, specific and narrow that it makes it a horrible overall value. I cannot believe someone at Logitech thought this was a good enough product to ship with so many omissions and oversights. It just isn't worth it.

Worse, with the extended battery recognised, I have to remove the powerlead and replug it in both when I turn the quest on and off in order for the battery to be recognised, but the power isn't drawn from the extended battery first, it seems to draw primarily from the headset. I was playing Elite Dangerous, and got a couple of hours play before getting a warning that my headset battery was low. Headset battery was showing 25 percent charge, Extended battery 95 percent charge. Whowever tested this needs to get fired. In concet it's good, and the sound is great, but the reality is that there are too many downsides for it to be practicable to use.

I love the Bobo Vr M2 Plus with the fan it easily surpasses the elite battery strap by far, its not even close. I have both and unfortunately I'm having to return the Bobo VR! Why? I'm using the logitech pro vr headset with the Bobo Vr strap and I mainly use my VR for fitness and I sweat like crazy because my head is fully covered! The only reason I'm keeping the elite strap (reluctantly) with battery is because of the Chorus as the sound quality is supposed to be amazing and it will definitely help with breathability but I'll be losing out on amazing clarity and flexibility of the BoBo VR. Also the reason why the link cable cannot be used via the chorus is due to a hardware limitations of the USB C port as it does not have the bandwidth available for data and be used by the Chorus. Its a hardware limitation not Logitechs fault. If the link cable did work (which is technically not possible) the heat the VR headset would generate would be unbearable anyway.

Koss Porta Pros are a bit awkward to use with the quest 2, unless you have some sort of mod to attach them directly to the quest 2. The koss ksc75 clip on the ear, making them less awkward to use. The drivers are mostly the same, except that the 75 has a titanium coated membrane which gives them a different sound profile. I'm sure there's many mods for them, and the drivers for both would be interchangeable in those mods. For the mods, some soldering would probably be required, unless you bought them premodded, which would cost more.

I know this is a old video but hear me out regarding VR audio I have a Pico 4 which does NOT have a 3.5mm audio jack, I wanted to connect my DAS headphones to it, found a 3D printed solution (originally meant for the Quest 2 but fits the Pico4 perfectly), I purchased a Ugreen USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter. After using this combo, I've come to the conclusion that the DAC used in VR HMDs is very weak (cheap), I've used my DAS headphones with a OG Vive and my Quest 2 and they sounded okay but not fantastic. Once I plugged them into the Ugreen adaptor on the Pico 4, OMG, the sound was amazing, I have never heard the DAS headphones sound this good, so that Ugreen adaptor must have it's own DAC and they must be using something half decent since my DAS headphone now sound the best I ever heard from them. So, a lot of after market headphones for various HMDs might actually be decent headphones but sound "so so" due to the weak DACs built into the HMDs. I think the only exceptions to this are headsets that come with built in headphones, Rift CV1, Samsung Odyssey, and my 2 favorites for sound out of the box.... Index and Reverb G2.

MYJK Clip On VR Headphones from amazon have pretty decent and loud sound with fairly nice bass, treble, and mids. You need to DIY a bit to make them fit M2 though. They will clip to the bobo, but need to be held tighter, I just use velcro cable ties. These are also pretty cheap. I also have a set of the sony headphones you have, which I purchased to try to replace the MYJK's (after being pretty happy with them for 2 years), but was not happy with the sony's sound. So you could have as long or as short cables as you needed and the headphones were good quality and stayed out of the way of headstraps and being clip on vs in ears or over ears they stay on much better in more active games. I don’t see it as them dropping the ball. I think they see the writing on the wall that most users prefer wireless anyway and FB is really pushing people to use Airlink vs the wired cable anyway. One of the big reasons people choose Quest 2 over other headsets is not having to use a cable in the first place.

@@uidzero Fair point, but just having the data lanes wired through wouldn't have been hard to achieve anyway.
@khaledassaf63562 жыл бұрын
@@uidzero While I agree, and wireless definitely is the future, I don't think it is there yet in terms of technology, as, at least for me, I seem to have stutters when using it in more intensive games. Half Life Alyx and Boneworks, for example, are unplayable for me due to that. The technology definitely needs a couple more years to fully mature (it's only a matter of time). A better router is also an option, but from what I saw in reviews, the ones that would give me the smoothest gameplay are also not worth it in terms of pricing, at least in my country, at this point in time. Ultimately, though, it's a moot point, since I can't use these anyway due to my headstrap not being supported.
