For me and, my husband, the best album is the newest one, Rammstein. Than is Mutter and Reise reise. The true is, that Dalai Lama is fantastic and one of their best and underrated song. Thank you for the video!

Madone! oops, my Italian came out for a second there..... Anyways, I would love to "debate" or "challenge" in a friendly manner some of your decisions. Unfortunately, I don't want to get into specifics in a comment because so much gets lost in text. Without seeing the gesicht or hearing the vox, one might be misconstrued. For most of your video, I am 100% in agreement .... not necessarily in your choices but in your reasoning, but .... and it's a big ole fat BUTT .... you talk about weak back half's of Rammstein album's.... yet, the album you pick as number one has probably the strongest last 3 songs ( stein um stein, ohne dich, amour) on any Rammstein album. I humbly ask to present my case, and I'm hypothesizing that we could find that the differences we have are more to our nationalty's culture than our love for good music. I still find it funny how I found Rammstein by accident when I mistakingly clicked on a Naruto AMV years and years ago. I would have forgotten about them but then like fate, my mother brought a box home filled with CDs and DVDs someone threw away. In that box was a copy of Mutter that had the song I heard from the Naruto AMV; Sonne. I bought every album after that and still do to this day.

I honestly cannot pick my favorite album or least favorite. I like songs from all of them. I must be simple-minded, because I love the "monotony" of the beat over and over. Schneider's drumming massages my brain or something.....😮 And Till's voice.....well, frankly, the man could sing the phone book for all I care 😄😄😄😄😄 and I'd still listen to it. His voice sounds "young" and less controlled in songs like 'Leichzeit' (spelling might be wrong, sorry) but I can still hear that wonderful baritone coming through that you know will eventually drop to a basso as he ages. And look at what we have now.....he's like fine wine and his voice has that rich resonance like a grand pipe organ in some strange desecrated cathedral It drives me crazy, I admit it.....

Rosenrot has my favorite songs on it, but it seems cobbled together and doesn't flow like Reise, Reise or Mutter (which makes sense given how it was made). As a result, I'd have to rank Reise, Reise #1. I felt there was a drop in quality and a corresponding increase in mere shock value with Liebe, and I haven't kept up with them since.

Herzeleid is my equal favourite with Sehnsucht. So many great songs on those first two albums. Good to see another fan who rates the self titled album highly. A lot of people aren't so keen on it, but it's one of their best for me.

I knew of them (Rammstein) when I was in High School ('03, '04) but I didn't become an actual fan and listen to them with purpose until 2010. I had wanted to take German when I was still in school, but it wasn't offered (still learning with Rosetta Stone lol). "Du Riechst So Gut", "Du Hast", and "Feuer Frei" were my first exposure songs. I really fell in love with their Reise, Reise album as well. It's powerful, for sure. I got to see them perform in Cleveland, Ohio with a friend in the spring of 2012. Thank you so much for making these videos - even the ones that aren't Rammstein oriented. ((Hugs)) from Ohio!

I was first introduced to Rammstein in 2001 when I heard "Sonne" and was blown away by it's atmosphere and punch. Toss in "Mein Herz Brennt", "Ich Will" and "Links 2, 3, 4" and you've got what I think is the band's strongest succession of songs to lead any of their albums. I love all the rammstein albums but I really respect your opinion. You really make some interesting points about each album and is always nice to see the evolution of Rammstein. If I had to put mine into order, it would be: 1. Reise Reise 2. Mutter 3. Self titled album 4. Sehnsucht 5. LIFAD 6. Rosenrot 7. Herzeleid Reise Reise really works for me as a concept album and love the direction the guys were taking. Plus, the costumes, set lists and overall theme of that era were perfect. ❤️❤️❤️

Quite surprising list. I like you can agree on my fav and least fav albums, but the middle ones are hard to decide, they're just gonna be in whatever order since I love them all equally! All albums range from really good to god tier. Here is mine: 1. Mutter (a bit biased as it's my first album but even now it's just so freaking amazing) 2 (Middle). Reise Reise, Sehnsucht, Herzeleid, Rosenrot 3. Liebe is fur alle da (the production doesn't sit with me as well) 4. Rammstein (sorry but I didn't connect as much with this album as I did with the others, but it's really good still)

I enjoy your videos, your english is better then my german ever will be, but i shall continue to try to improve and yourself and rammstein are helping that immensely, So i got a question the song du hast and everyone says about what till is saying, I looked in to german and as we know "hast" means "have" but i swear till also says "hasst" which is i am correct means "hate" in a older dialect of german and it sound the same except for a extended "hiss" at the end of the word as it also seems applicable in the context of the video to a degree, Am i talking scheisse or not? Can't believe how anyone can place Herzeleid as the worst and Sehnsucht as the second worst btw, these two albums are just packed with one classic track after another and pretty much define the band as a whole.

My heart was shattered when Rosenrot was placed so low because it is one of my favorites if not THE favorite and Ein Lied is my favorite song. I do know it sounds a bit like a B-side kinda song and I think that's why I love it so much. Beautiful lyrics and a simple but "effective" (and rather somber) sound that I adore. I'm glad that Reise Reise wasn't low on the list tho.

Yeah I also prefer Mutter because I feel like literally every song on Mutter is great, whereas LIFAD has couple that I don't like that much. Though I love songs like Waidmann's Heil, Wiener Blut and Donaukinder just as much as any song on Mutter. Anyway yeah Mutter is my favourite album of them all but LIFAD is still amazing. If you have a Prime account they have a Rammstein in American doc that can out around or after their Maddison Square Garden concert which was their first huge show back after 10 years. It goes into the history and early days of the band with interviews, clips from their early shows. I'm sure you can find it other then print but I really enjoyed it as you can see them playing 50 people venues in the 90's juxtaposed with clips from their sold-out Madison Square Garden show

Love all their albums but it was when I first heard Sehnsucht that I knew I was addicted and its been 20 years now and no sign of slowing down. I don't feel the same way about your first two albums, but I can see your point of view about what you said, and I agree about Rosenrot. It's probably my least favorite album because of that. And COMPLETELY agree about Dalai Lama. I love that song so much! I love Reise, Reise, but I do feel that Los and Stein um Stein are throwaway tracks, but they aren't bad and it wsa my favorite album before Rammstein came out. Their newest album is absolutely perfect to me. It's everything they were, could have been, and will be in the future. This was really hard, but this is my ranking: 7. Rosenrot 6. Sehnsucht 5. I can’t really say which album is my favourite and which one isn’t yet because I simply have to discover more of their discography... But my guess about Herzeleid was right it seems. I honestly like it, it’s ok for what it is, I feel the “dry” sound to it is rather fitting to it, the riffs themselves seem pretty technical also. At the same time the guitar tone isn’t my favourite, I’m learning to play guitar myself and I found a somewhat similar setting to the album but I really don’t pick it unless I want to play something like Seemann or Asche zu Asche. Also, I don’t always like how it’s so “in your face” with the lyrics (though it’s just Rammstein’s style isn’t it? Perhaps I’m just not that into explicit stuff yet). Mixed feelings about it. But still I’d rather say I like it.

I actually prefer the production sound of Herzelied to Sensucht. The thin, dry sound you describe is, in my opinion more prevalent in Sensucht and is the main reason I've never liked Sensucht quite as much, then again there are a few songs there that do provide more experimentation with sound and ideas. And Rosenrot I feel pretty much exactly the same as you. Zerstoren is awesome, as you say, but I also really like Wo Bist Du as a standout on a so-so album. Mutter remains my personal favorite.

I must agree on your number 1 choice, Reise Reise is one album where I personally like all of the songs, it really is a brilliant album. I would however personally choose Mutter above Rammstein, and both of them above LIFAD. Although Rammstein features three of my most favorite Rammstein songs, I feel that it is easier to listen to the complete Mutter album than the Rammstein album, unfortunatelly Auslander and Diamand fragments the album

May be unpoular opinion but my list goes: 1. Mutter (most of my favourite songs are on this album) 2. Reise, Reise (i like the more experimental or stylistic change after the 'mutter album) 3. Sehnsucht (my first introduction to Rammstein) 4. Rosenrot (an attempt to make Reise, Reise 2 which worked but they sounded like Reise, Reise Demos/Throwaways none the less i like it) 5. Herzeleid (i like Till's monotonous delivery Heirate Mich is a highlight for me just because of how many switch ups the song has) 6. Liebe ist fur alle da (Production... Literally the production and a couple of songs is what i like) 7. Rammstein (haven't listened to it enough to have an opinion)

Here's my list: Rammstein (My favorite by far. there's only 2 songs i don't care for) Reise Reise (it doesn't take #1 with 3-4 songs i don't care for, but it is a great album) Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da (I agree with you about the thick sound which is why it just edges out Mutter. I do disagree with you re Pussy. I love that song. But i freely admit i like "bad" songs since even R+ themselves joked it was musically "bad") Mutter (Spieluhr was my favorite R+ song until Deutschland. I agree that opening track list is amazing) Rosenrot (I disagree heavily with you regarding Feur & Wasser. I love that song. But I agree its not their best album as a whole) Herzelied/Sehnsucht (tied. both appeal about equally for me)

Even though Mutter is still my favorite Rammstein album of all time, this is a solid list. I THINK mine might be exactly the same, but with Mutter moved to the top. It's a tough one!

Mutter is, for me, a masterpiece. All albums are quite good, but Mutter just has a grandness about it. Great stuff.

Mutter is my 1, Reise Reise and the new album would be next though either 2 or 3, then LIFAD, not sure how I would rank Rosenrot and the first 2 albums. All are good albums but there are 2 or 3 songs on each that are not as memorable. Also the live versions of the early material sounds better, those first 2 albums have a very dry sound.

Rammstein is one of my favourite things, as is making lists. So I really enjoyed this video! Here's my list and my reasons: Rosenrot - I was really disappointed with this when it first came out. Spring and Wo Bist Du have grown on me since. I mostly avoid this album. LIFAD - Don't like the arrangements and production on this one so much. Not keen on the death metal drumming. Prefer the live versions. Rammlied is freaking awesome though. Reise Reise - Patchy. Love Ohne Dich, Reise Reise, and Mein Teil though. Mutter - First 6 six songs are great, then quality declines a bit in the second half. Still a really good album. Rammstein - Took me a few listens to get into , but made me fall back in love with the band. I like all the songs, I like the fuller, warmer sound, and I love that we get to hear more Flake. Was Ich Liebe is such a great track - the Rammstein equivalent of a power pop ballad. Herzeleid and Sehnsucht - Love the hell out of both these albums. That combination of slightly cheesy electro and heavy guitar riffs is so addictive, like a nostalgic hit of cocaine, caffeine, and sugar all at once. So many great songs: Der Meister, Du Riechst So Gut, Wollt Ihr Das Bett, Sehnsucht, Du Hast, Engel, Tier. Alter Mann is my all time favourite Rammstein track. I wouldn't change a note on either album.

I understand Sehnsucht's place. Bück Dich, Sehnsucht, and Engel are bangers, but the other tracks didn't exactly catch my eyes or my ears I should say. I thought the album was really creative though compared to some of the other ones mentioned. It's just not my cup of tea for the most part. Yet, that album will always have a special place in my heart as the first Rammstein album that I bought. Also, Waidmanns Heil is my all time favorite Rammstein song.

It has the most singles, for a good reason. For me, personally, it really helped define the music taste I hold to this day. Sonne and Ich Will are beyond awesome musically, lyrically, and as music videos - true masterpieces. As for Rammstein songs overall, this is my top 5 list: 1. Sonne 2. Mein Teil 3. Ich Will 4. Benzin 5. Ich Tu Dir Weh

Agree with you about Herzeleid and Sehnsucht. When I want to listen to these songs with more 'weight' I listen to the Live aus Berlin live album, which I think does these songs more justice.

I have a different order myself but it was very interesting hearing about your point of view (and it’s funny to hear what you often called “filler songs” are often my favorites ^^). So here’s my list : 1 Reise, Reise 2 Mutter 3 Sehnsucht 4 Rammstein 5 Rosenrot 6 Herzeleid 7 LIFAD LIFAD is not a bad album, it’s just a matter of taste. Once the novelty wore off, I realized I don’t really like any song on it but Wiener Blut (and I absolutely dislike Pussy). A shame that my favorites are the b-sides Donaukinder and Halt… I pains me to have Herzeleid so low because I love every song of this album, but I agree with you : they tend to all sound the same. Rosenrot is what it is : a collection of b-sides, not really a proper album. Even if I like many songs on it, it lacks cohesion; something to tie the songs together. Rammstein : I do like that each song has its own identity, its own sound but... I have mixed feelings about it overall (so probably why I put in the middle, I am still not sure how I feel about it) Sehnsucht : Ngl, it’s this high in my list because of nostalgia. And because of Bestrafe Mich and Klavier. Mutter/Reise, Reise : I hesitated a long time between which one was my favorite. I guess most people don’t like the second half of Mutter (which is a shame, Spielhur is such a good song, and Nebel one of their most haunting melodies) but even though Zwitter and Rein Raus are fun, I’m not sure their levity work that well in the dark mood of the album. Which is why Reise, Reise is first. Reise, Reise would be even better without Amerika imho (which is to me the weakest song of the album) but even then, this is the album where every song fit, either thematically or musically. There is a real common thread through the whole album.

I got into Rammstein around the time Mutter was released (and because of it). I still think it's brilliant, and completely agree about Reise, Reise. Dalai Lama is one of my all time favourite tracks, as well as Ohne Dich, and Stein Um Stein ... need I go on? Fab album. Those two were standout favourites of mine, until the last one arrived - absolutely love it, although I wasn't sure about it at first. But that's an amazing comeback, and I now place it up there with Mutter and Reise, Reise - I don't want to choose. Not too sure about LIFAD (much as I love a couple of the songs, e.g. Haifisch) or Rosenrot, but there are no bad Rammstein albums, just less good ones.

My favorite albums are Herzeleid and Sehnsucht. Raw and had me since the beginning. Live Aus Berlin and Lichtspielhaus like for many American fans made me a fan for life. As Rammstein began to do more ballads and meaningful songs for wider range of audiences I adjusted to that pretty effortlessly. I loved it all and generally appreciated their entire evolution. The first song my daughter ever heard was Deutschland. She was born premature and my wife happened to go into labor the day before the release of the song. We were in the hospital for 5 days of labor, and I we listened to the song together in the hospital. I feel a strange disconnection these days from my favorite bands in my older age. I feel music gets lost or treated generically when seen on yourtube or other social media spaces, so I have not went out of my way to much to delve into Zeit. I will buy the album soon, but unfortunately as I get older my priorities to music fall behind a bit and it's likely I wont get into the album until later this year when I decide to get it on vinyl.

I respect your opinion and agree fir the most part. The more complex the musicality and symphonic the more I like it. I agree, Till's monotonous vocals were not as expressive as later works. However your first is always the biggest love. Rammstein's song, "Rammstein" in David Lynch's, "Lost Highway". Mann gegen Mann, and Pussy sound more like Lindemann songs than Rammstein songs.
