Best in the State of Florida… On field coaching: FSU All things recruiting: Miami Most likely to get fired: Florida

still baffles me how miami continues to recruit well even when they're so bad on the field.. most other recruiting programs would be way more negatively impacted by poor on-field performance, but miami seems somewhat resistant to that. I think part of it is the location, many blue chips come out of south FL and i think staying close to home, plus miami is a national program, historically.. so its not a bad choice even if they're not winning like they once did. Yes Mario can recruit, but this phenomenon predates Mario's tenure. Of course their performance *does* effect recruiting, just not as much as most other programs

This is a big season for Miami. If Miami has a great season a lot of the narrative on the coaching staff will start to swing in the way the narrative started to swing on Norvell after a terrible first 2 seasons. When you take over a mess it can take 2 years to turn it around if you’re building it to last vs trying to win as many games as possible in years 1 and 2.

I laugh every time people say the BIG XII is better than the ACC. The BIG XII would do anything to have any of Miami, FSU, or Clemson…the ACC has all 3. No one would be shocked if in 5 years any of those programs ended up in or winning a National Title game. I would argue if any BIG XII program makes or wins a National Title game at any time in the future virtually everyone would be shocked.

Even though you’re all over our comments, there are actually no lies being told by a Miami fan for once lol. Can’t say I disagree with anything you’re saying.

What Cristobal did with Justin Herbert, P. Sewell, N. Sewell was impressive. As much as people love to say “Cristobal ruined Justin Herbert”…the reality is Herbert was a 3 star QB no one wanted and when he left Oregon he was at the top of their QB record books and a top 10 draft pick and elite NFL QB. He’s done an amazing job at developing the Offensive line at Miami, but it’s still early at Miami to judge player development. The only thing we know is that Mario Cristobal is probably considered a Top 2-3 Head Coach recruiter nationally.

Cristobal made 2 NY6 bowls in 4 years, made 3 PAC 12 title games and won 2 Pac 12 titles in 4 years, & had a Top 5 season at 12-2 with a Rose Bowl win. Those results run counter to the narrative and a lot of people want to ignore those results. If you want to argue it’s just easier to win big at Oregon vs Miami them knock yourself out…just stick around for the next 4/5 years…don’t run away.

At weak PAC 12 conference
@adam-thesportsguy6147
@adam-thesportsguy6147 4 ай бұрын
@@marcuslewis7139 yeah anytime people want to discredit someone it the who did they play? He beat a great B1G team in Michigan State in that Rose Bowl. He elevated that nobody 3 star QB into a historic QB for Oregon living at the top of their QB record books and got him drafted Top 10. That QB’s done pretty good in the NFL unless he’s not playing anyone there also. When Cristobal stacks up the talent like only he and a few others do…he can finish Top 5 seasons. He’s a young Power 5 coach in his 6th year…we’ll see if he can finish a season better than ranked 5th. We do agree the PAC 12 was the worst Conference that season…but it’s not like he had 1 good lucky year. The man lived in the PAC 12 Title game 3 out of 4 seasons…he won his Power 5 conference half of his seasons there. Also…how many non-B1G teams have gone into Columbus, Ohio and beat Ohio State in the Shoe in the last 60 years? Mario Cristobal did that with some guy who’s doing taxes for a living now at QB and 7 starters out with injury. That Ohio State team was elite. I’m not asking people to name Cristobal an elite coach…just be realistic. People act like if every coach were let go and they had a coaching draft that Mario wouldn’t be a Top 50 pick. Mario’s probably the 2nd best recruiting Head coach in America and recruiting is probably 75-80% of coaching in college because the most talented team typically wins. Here’s how I grade Mario… Offensive line coach: A+ Recruiting: A+ Culture: B+ Game Management: D Overall: B+ I’m curious how much we disagree.

@@adam-thesportsguy6147 Ay congratulations to Mario for success at Oregon. But Oregon and Miami are different. Now granted Oregon has been more successful the last 20 years but it's not Miami.

@@marcuslewis7139 I agree Marcus…I believe it’s a lot easier to win at Miami especially moving forward. History proves it’s easier to win at Miami when the talent is there over Oregon. Only 1 program has more National Titles than Miami over the last 40 years…Alabama. Miami almost has twice as many National Titles in the last 40 years than Florida or FSU has all time. Miami has a winning record vs both Florida and FSU. The other wildcard favoring Mario…Miami has never invested in their football program until they hired him. We don’t know what a financially funded Miami can do…we know they can dominate the sport for 20 years when they’re not funded…hard to imagine the money would make it harder.
