Solid list, but the lyric in Tolerate It isn’t what would you do if I “died” she just says “what would you do if i….” And then leads into what she could potentially do if she left the relationship. I interpret the way she sings “I” and kind of drags it out as this big sigh of relief like she’s finally getting the courage to talk about leaving. So 10/10 bridge for me

the thing about the archer and the no ups and downs as you were talking about is just more the genius of taylor swift! the archer is a song about anxiety and the thing about anxiety is it might go up and down but its always there and sticks with you and you always feel it in the back of your mind. i understand the slander to an extent (combat im ready for combat WHAT lol) but its one of my favorite songs and def in my top lover songs

I think for the context of 1989, with the production and lyrical restrictions, Wonderland should have been the track 5. Also, in a way Harry Styles really lucked out because while he got a whole album, the confines of pop music let him as a very private person remain in a sense of ambiguity.

I think I would have boosted white horse a spot, other than that spot on. I recently visited all track 5s and did the rank on my own. Might I say, we don't talk about how fucking good dear John is. I feel like with speak now as a whole without dear John and last kiss it would lose it's depth in songwriting. Last Kiss could have easily been the track 5 instead. Both are interchangeable when it comes to emotionally punching you in the face.

To me The Archer is some of Taylor's laziest songwriting idc. It has a few good lines but it's filled with stereotypes which bores me and doesn't come across as vulnerable or deep. Not to mention, idioms and fairytales are so often used as filler in songs, the uncopyrightable humpty dumpty lines are so telling that she was out of ideas 😭
