retired, 70s, bmi 43, united healthcare, this video doesnt even matter because none of these are covered, and I dont have 500-$1000 dollars a month to pay out of pocket. Ive suffered a lot of trauma, and eat to (medicate) the pain.

There’s one more to add to the list soon: Rybelsus (oral semaglutide), with new, higher doses (25 and 50mg), should be receiving FDA-approval for obesity later this year. First oral GLP-1 to receive that indication. 🌟

Zepbound is also a GIP agonist, but it’s technically also the exact same drug as Mounjaro, just with a different FDA indication. There are other GIP agonists in the works, such as Retatrutide and VK2735, but they won’t officially hit the market for a couple of years yet.

@pmoore It reduces the calories you absorb from *fat,* IIRC. But the weight-loss is minimal, and the potential side effects are highly embarrassing and messy. 😢 Personally, if you were looking for something relatively cheap (aka a non-GLP-1), yet fairly effective, I’d talk with your doctor about Contrave or Qsymia. Assuming you don’t have any contraindications, that’d seem to be a good path to do some research on and see. 🤔 The newer GLP-1s will usually be better for weight-loss (for most, but not all ppl), but are very expensive and frequently in shortage. 🤬
