Honestly, I find the Scarlet Rot Avatars to be identical to the regular ones, both in quality and difficulty. Unlike other scarlet rot variants of bosses which have multiple scarlet rot attacks, his only attack that has scarlet rot is the asylum demon booty slam, and it only shoots out poison in front of him. If you just dodge into the slam normally, than roll/strafe to position yourself behind him, he becomes no different. He can spam the attack but the poison (which goes away pretty quickly) never becomes a problem as long as you’re smart about positioning. That’s personally just what I think since I hear so many people consider him so much more difficult and annoying compared to the normal

Yeah like every single other asylum demon clone you just circle strafe and dodge and they have no clue how to hit you. The poison shoots out so far in front that I thought it would be natural for everyone to just go behind the monster. Boy was I wrong as streamer after streamer gets tossed by this single attack lol

That's the problem: It's extremely unintuitive that it only shoots forwards. By the time you fight your first putrid avatar you'll already have fought some normal ones, and by that point the natural assumption is that their butt stomp will be a symmetrical AOE. And it's very hard to spot the fact that it works this way if you run back at first - it's tough to see the precise effect from behind all the scarlet rot steaming out of the ground.

Some Tips: I found the dragon of rot easy I beat him at lv 40. just hit its wings with a bleed weapon on horseback it takes like 10 min. The Dragon knight on horseback - you can dodge his lightning by waiting for him to lift his shield and then when he drops it dodge you dodge to the right. The assassin- you can get a special torch to see him in the dark it’s a gimmick fight. And the grab hits at every angle not just behind.

I'm okay with reskins, but IMO the line should be drawn at important story bosses. Mohg, Godfrey and Astel should not have had 2nd fights (even tho there's a lore reason for Mohg). I'm mostly okay with the rest (Margit gets a pass for lore reasons), but I still wish it had a bit less repeated bosses (I would be okay with it having less bosses if it means less repetitions) . I think it's similar to Bloodborne, alot of bosses in the Chalice Dungeons were also repeated several times

Of all the gank boss fights, I found the Valiant Gargoyles way better. They take turns attacking you, unlike the majority of other ganks in the games. They were clearly designed with complementary movesets, even if the poison sucks. Something like the two Crucible Knights in one room comes to mind. Their AI aren't programmed together, they're just two enemies with equal aggression towards you, and you have to either tank damage to get hits or wait for extremely rare opportunities to separate them. Or was I missing something?

Spot-on as to why almost every FromSoft gank fight is offensively lazy garbage. As much as I still dislike the gargoyles anyway (wtf is that poison cloud damage??), they felt like one of the less-shit gank bosses FS have made and were similar to Demon Prince's first phase.

Pretty much. I fought this boss in 2 gears, Horseback like the regular tree Sentinel then on foot when it was lightning buffed. Never had trouble dodging anything, that lightning bolt never hit me

putrid tree avatar turns into a great fight as soon as you learn the rot slam is just a cone. Uh for draconic lightning shit you literally just roll? Like try pressing the button, it will work lmfao. Flying dragon reskins use jump attacks on the head, never attack the feet of a dragon.

Great video, Guys! I have yet to play Elden Ring, but it's definitely a game I intend to purchase at some point. I still need to play Dark Souls III, which I will get to very soon. Kudos for undertaking the task of ranking all of the unique bosses, since other youtubers generally limit themselves to ranking 30 to 40 of them. Creating a list of this magnitude is very impressive! Seeing how chock-full of bosses Elden Ring is, Dark Souls II suddenly seems quaint with its roster of 41 bosses. Lol. I know many people are proclaiming this to be FromSoftware's greatest title yet. What are your thoughts? How do you think it compares to their other games? Anyway, I enjoy your content, as always, and look forward to your next upload!

@@Cytonox Nice list, Alex! It's cool to see different perspectives on the games, and there's honestly plenty of merit to any order, since all of the games have something interesting to offer. Of the games I've played, my personal ranking is BB>Sekiro>DS1>DS2, although DS1 only slightly edges out DS2 for me. I'm glad you're enjoying Symphony of the Night. While I personally think it has been improved upon by later Metroidvanias like Hollow Knight and The Messenger, it was a groundbreaking entry in the genre for the time, and still holds up very well compared to most other PS1 games. Yeah, Michiru Yamane really struck gold with the soundtrack, and the sound quality and sheer variety of musical genres on display was incredibly unusual for 1997. Also, the selection of enemies in this game is awesome, and most of them are taken straight from various mythologies and folklore from around the world (similar to the Personas in the Persona series). Have fun exploring the castle!

I am shocked not to see the triple Crystalians fight at the bottom of the list, or in the whole first part video, imo that is the worst fight in the game with a huge lead deal no dmg unless broken armor or a blunt weapon - check a tiny arena - check a complementary playstyle with 1 ranged caster, 1 half range(throwing rings)half meele(whirlwind)bladeboi and a meele 1 move spamming spear dude (gap closing jumping thrusts) - check to top it all of.... inflicting scarlet rot - check without a doubt in my mind the worst fight in this game, which is a shame, even things like double crucible knights or burial watchdogs i have almost no struggle against, but triple Crystalians, i struggle with them every single time, nevermind my level

I think one of the reasons people find, or at least found, the draconic tree sentinel and Margit so hard was because they're meant to gatekeep areas. If you can't beat the draconic tree sentinel, you don't have a hope in hell of surviving 3 knights attacking you at once in leyendell. If you can't beat Margit, the banished knights and hordes of Cannon fodder enemies in stormveil will be impossible to manage reasonably. I remember trying over and over to beat Margit and the DTS, only to give up and go level a bit more, then come back and do it immediately. I think it's a mistake to look at this like a lot of the other souls games with much more linear progression. If you meet a boss you can't beat, there are other areas to explore and get stronger. You don't have to keep plugging away at it until you do it. Unless it's malenia. You will always die countless times against malenia, no matter how good you are or how good your weapons are. I'm still mad that waterfowl dance kinda sucks, given how many times it's killed me

I really prefer when you show your individual rankings as well, instead of purely the collective one. Especially since it gives much more context for the person speaking: If the ranking is terrible but the person speaking is talking positively then it can get confusing as hell.

Elden Ring has such a disappointing stable of bosses compared to the rest of From's catalogue, especially considering there are really only about...a dozen or so unique bosses and the rest are all reused, reskins, normal enemies with larger health bars, or just taking a boss and putting two of them in a room together. I remember feeling almost insulted when I got to the end of a dungeon and the boss was just...a normal giant poison flower enemy that I had fought dozens of times and promptly killed in 5 seconds. All that said, I'm glad people hate the Runebear as much as I do. The arena is awkwardly sized, his attacks leave little room for retaliation, and his charge attack has such a brief tell that it is ludicrously difficult to dodge. Felt no shame at all about using summons to beat him. Screw that bear.

This game was reskin city at times. The sheer disappointment I felt at the top of the mountain seeing my third fstar beast was something else. I honestly think Draconic Tree Sentinel was my least favorite because the sheer cheese of its lightning attack and being another reskin. Best boss by far for me was Astel because the sheer fear and awe I felt seeing such a thing (Good thing it has a RESKIN) so I guess Rykard would take top spot for me because he had not reskins. Hope this game's dlc takes it easy on the reskins.

Because this is a very different game than dark souls 2. The ONLY bosses in this game that you can compare agaisnt the bosses in past from games, are the ones that drop remembrances. Everything else is a mini boss and at best can be compared with the mini bosses in sekiro. So yeah, theres a lot of shit mini bosses in this game. But that’s what happens in an open world game that revolves around tough boss encounters. Can’t exactly make 100 completely unique radahn level bosses in a game like this. That’s not physically possible. In a game like dark souls 2, having that many shit bosses is inexcusable. But you can’t compare it to elden ring. Very different games.

@@Cytonox I like the overall tier list though, I totally agree with the majority of these placements and agree with those reasons, it just confuses me that a boss like the Tibia Mariner (The Pinwheel of Elden Ring) is rated higher than something like the Valiant Gargoyles, An annoying but still designed to not be annoying by making their AI fairly passive. It just feels like you graded the bosses based on your first attempt fighting it. keep up the videos though, I'm excited to see these final two videos.

Just finished Elden Ring and hyped to see u guys' opinions on things. I gotta say tho, I was incredibly disappointed with the game and thought the boss roster was really weak (even when narrowing it down to just the main/'real' bosses). A few greats elevate the game above DS2 at least, and one boss does make it into my FromSoft top 10. Really interested to see where some particular bosses landed for u guys :D
