Hey all - This is the last of the Bloodborne coverage for now. I think I've covered everything boss-wise, though I think some day down the line I'll do Armour/Weapon rankings. Next month, get ready for the Easiest & Hardest Top 15 Fights in Soulsborne, as well as coverage of Another Crab's Treasure, Majora's Mask, and some other miscellaneous Souls videos.

Prospectors will see the Keeper of the Old Lords and go "Hell yeah". Love the guy, even though I MIGHT have cursed his entire bloodline during the defiled chalice, I still really like him (her?). Definetely the best fight in the defiled chalice

Man, for me the abhorrent beast was hands down my biggest hurdle in getting the platinum. Not necessarily for his mechanical challenge, but for me it was the mental. Abhorrent beast killed me a LOT. He's one of the few bosses that I never had that moment where I thought "yep, I know how to take this guy down", and one of the even fewer number of bosses that actually made me pause and wonder if I had what it took to beat them. I took a break from bloodborne for 18+ months and wasn't ever really planning to go back and slog through him. But I did, and after many more deaths and many tense, white knuckle skirmishes I finally... FINALLY took him down. And then you come across the room with the blood-letting beast and my mind almost broke. The feeling of utter despair, thinking that the worst wasn't just not over, but hadn't even begun yet. Fortunately, I persevered and he turned out not to pose quite the same challenge as abhorrent beast did. In fact, I got the platinum without fighting another boss that had anything near the effect abhorrent beast did. Just something with his aggression and moveset that heavily countered my natural, measured and methodical way of fighting. He was just always in my face and I was constantly like you say - searching for an opening. When I like to be planning and baiting attacks at my own pace, this guy was slapping me around that little boss room like a wet sack of sh*t. I still cringe when I think about his howling, furious and stone dead eyes locking onto me, and his back arcing up with lightning. And so I guess I could go either way - is he my least favourite boss because WOW what a bastard? Or is he my favourite because more than any other boss, he pushed me to my limits as a hunter and im now a better one for it... and what could be more fundamentally "bloodborne" than that? . Jokes I totally hate him hahaha @&#$ that guy - negative 1 out of 10 boss - literally unplayable - good riddance to that mangy turd-berg - complete suck-quake, a total waste-nado of my 7 months-onsoon

On number 11: I also had that ceiling glitch happen. Luckily I'm a big fan of stuff like firebombs, so I had a healthy supply and was able to finish the boss with splash damage as long as I timed the toss well. That was after SO many failed attempts that I was not leaving that arena until the boss either came out of the ceiling and killed me, or I found a solution, which thankfully I did.

I love keeper of the old lords, just cause he is an actually cool hostile NPC, and he wears one of my favorite armor sets in the entire game, and my favorite version of the fromsoftware skeleton armor, hes just a really neat boss!

For rom, it's normally due to the close quarters of the chalice. The spiders collect and get close way faster than in the base game. It is way easier to blitz the base game rom before any of the other spiders make it back to you. The action economy is just exasperated in the chalices

Defiled Amygdala is hard if you fight her straight up, but thankfully there is a cheese strat that makes the fight laughably easy
@BobbyNorth-it9gnАй бұрын
Personally, I found the abhorrent beast to be the hardest, guy wasted me for hours, until I caved in and used the summon to job him. Then, I actually fought him legitimately, which I'm quite proud of. There was something about his delayed, yet lightning fast movement that really threw me off the entire fight. Plus he dealt heaps of damage and only let me hit him two or three times max
@BobbyNorth-it9gnАй бұрын
Also, Ebrietas isn't hard, I beat her in roughly 5 times. Still fun and one of my favorites!

I didn't see the Chalice Dungeon Poll, so I will say that the Abhorrent Beast is probably one of my favorite bosses in the game. This is how I wish the earlier main-game beast fights went down before running into more large-sized Beasts like Amelia and Paarl. I love how he looks. He is extremely intimidating with how large he appears due to his fur. The enraged mechanic makes me thing the Abhorrent Beast is in the process of evolving into whatever kind of beast Paarl is since it also charges up with electricity and uses shockwaves. I don't see any flaw in the fight, and while some people would probably like for him to be parryable, I'm glad he's not because he might end up being too easy if that were the case. I agree with Ebrietas being quite difficult. While her moveset is not difficult to adapt to, her charge is a high-damage threat with little telegraph, her phase 2 AoE aura prevents the ability to use Rally, and she also has A Call Beyond, which is very tricky to learn and one of the flurries can one-shot you. While her head is weaker and she is susceptible to thrust damage, not many people are going to know this even after beating her their first couple times. And it's a lot safer to attack her from behind, so I don't blame people for rating Ebrietas as high as they do. I at least think she is harder than any other boss in the main game (not counting DLC), but that's not really a high bar since I think they're all relatively above average in difficulty with few exceptions being either easy or pretty tough.

I was really shocked to see Amygdala as number one as I found both variants rather easy I find it interesting that one person’s Amygdala is an other person’s Pthumerian Descendant as I had to force myself to beat him just to get to the queen for my platinum run. Great video looking forward to seeing what’s next.

Seeing the comments about parrying I see that it was a blessing how much I SUCK at parrying on Bloodborne, because that made me never rely on it as a strategy. Not saying that being good at it is bad, of course, but I see that when you rely to much on it once an enemy has more difficult parry windows it's hard to change your mind-set if you've been playing like that for the whole game.

I never even once died to Ebrietas (base game or chalice) in all my playthroughs. Just never be in front of her, stay betwenn her back "tentacles" and she is just completely helpless. Idk, either I'm super lucky or she really is that simple

Amygdala is by far the easiest Chalice Dungeon boss if you’re patient. Just stick behind her, and she’ll never hit you once. When she jumps, just wait a second before dodging forward, and you’ll be in the exact same position. It doesn’t take an ungodly long time compared to other bosses I’ve fought in other FromSoft games
@Hunter-Chidster7 ай бұрын
When you said to go under Amy's tail if she jumps, I was smiling because you don't have to do that. In fact, you just have to stand still and she won't hit you.

Also when I saw the commemt mentioning that amy is worse than bed of chaos, I was shocked because boc has a far worst terrain than amy.

Currently working on chalice rom. The issue is that the pillars don’t always stop the magic attack. It’s like 50% that they get stoped 50% they travel right through the terrain (I do think it’s a graphical glitch as I have seen the spell travel through solid terrain that previously blocked an attack). The pillars make it much harder to know when to dodge as you basically can’t tell if the attack is coming until after the dodge window… The strategy I started trying and worked better was to just ignore the adds and focus on rom, got here near 10% like that before u went to sleep… haha Focusing the spiders is complicated by the pillar glitch. Maybe I just need to dodge after every swing to ensure I have I frames… but I prefer to react to an attack rather than have to spam an ability for an attack that I can’t tell if or when it will connect haha. I could be standing in a bad place during the teleport which causes her to move to a glitched location… but the most likely case is that I am just bad at group fights and need practice haha

I first thought Ebrietas and Amygdala to be the hardest, a few year ago when I first did the Chalice, but on the second time, I learned that they were weak to bloodtinge, so I went in with my +10 Evelyn and bone marrow ash, trivializing both fight to such a degree that it was laughable, basically becoming a hit and run with no challenge whatsoever. If you truly struggle on these two bosses, consider leveling Bloodtinge, shoot the head and dodge backward, this would save a lot of trouble for many peoples.

I personally find that Rom's magic is very easy to handle. I only get hit by it when I'm not paying attention or getting frustrated by needing to be patient. Once I understood how to avoid it I've not been hit since while actually trying. I always die to the little spiders. I hate them. I haven't fought chalice Rom because I haven't gone past the hintertombs yet, but it does genuinely look harder to me because of the small arena.

Chalice rom was harder for me _because_ of the arena. It's so much smaller than the main game one and It's easy to get stuck. My preferred strategy for main game rom is to kite the little spiders until I can make clear path to rom, but there's not enough room for that with the chalice version. Also, maybe using the kirkhammer changes this, but with my preferred weapons, it's very hard to do significant damage to the little spiders without coming at them from the side and trying to attack the sides without putting yourself in the middle of a whole mess of spiders _also_ requires more space than the chalice arena provides Lastly, while you _can_ hide behind the pillars, dodging that ranged meteor attack when you aren't behind cover essentially requires moving in a straight line for a few seconds which is tough when there's walls in the way

I'm currently playing through Bloodborne rn for the first time and going for the plat. I was going through the challice dungeons via their intended order, but accidentally deleted the lower loran challice instead of warping back to layer 2 and because I didn't not want to go do like 3/4 whole chalices that I already did again. I decided to use the glpyh to skip to the end and holy shit, the Pthumerian Descendant was just insanely hard. I actually don't recommend skipping this shit cuz you get so many echoes and gems doing this stuff the intended way. First phase isn't the worst thing cuz there are consistent parry timings but God the arena is so limiting. What is the point of the pillars of they can't block his projectile? And why can bosses attack through solid matter when I can't? But the second phase is insane. His range and damage is crazy and he just keeps on attacking, I had to rely on bullet spam and rng to win after like 15-20 tries and Jesus it was exhausting. I've heard the horror stories of Bloodletting Beast, but I hope that goes better.

I love these community rankings
@Pedro_Le_Chef6 ай бұрын
This ranking is skewed heavily towards the bosses most people had to fight in the defiled dungeon before Queen Yarnam. Defiled variants of Bloodletting beast, Undead Giant (yes even the blades version) and Ebrietas are all significantly harder than defiled amygdala and Watchdog, and would easily rank at 9.9/10 in terms of difficulty, but you only fight these bosses if you dive into FRC chalices so most people dont know what a nightmare they are to deal with.
@BillySYT6 ай бұрын
I chose to focus specifically on the required variants of each boss in relation to reaching Queen Yharnam as it's what a majority of the playerbase is used to. If I were to ask everyone to rank every boss's defiled variants, I'd get maybe 5 entries for the community ranking, because in order to participate, you have to have beaten every boss (so as to not skew any results).

The reuse arguments in this video is basically Elden Ring in a nutshell lmao. If the Maneater Boar and Brainsucker bosses are filler, then so are all the reused bosses in Elden Ring, but Elden Ring went even further with it and took it to another level by treating the main bosses the same way, Bloodborne just gave a couple of enemies healthbars in the chalice dungeons, but Elden Ring copypasted other actual bossfights like Godfrey, Godrick, Mohg, and Margit. At least the chalice dungeons has some unique bosses that you only fight there, but caves, catacombs, etc. in Elden Ring are even more filler.
@lightofthecolossus7 ай бұрын
You are exagerating a bit here. Bloodborne reused the Darkbeast, Rom, Emissary, Ebrietas, Blood starved beast, Shadows of Yharnam and Amygdala. Also, Godfrey and Mohg had a lot of changes made to them where there is none in the reused bosses from bloodborne. I assume you talk about Margit outside of Leyendell being reused in an encounter, but if you think in any way that Morgott is a copy paste of Margit, than you would just be wrong. The only times that main bosses are completely reused in Elden Ring are with Astel and Godrick. I don't like those, but Bloodborne is much worse.
