I disagree with miquella's voice actors deliverance being bad. The character is supposed to be gentle/kind and not tragic, furios or euphoric. However the rest you said about it is true. Btw you should have mentioned the grab-voicelines, because (for me) they are more memorable.

way too critical on Miquella, and Rykard's voice acting is great. It sounds like he is struggling to speak and choking on the corpses he's ingested. Other than that, good video. Fun to watch.

I fully disagree with the take on miquella. I feel like your hate for his voice lines is just pure grude-filled copium for the boss likely having given you a very hard time to beat him. There is no way they're as abhorrently bad as you exaggerated, as they are completely in line with the character and his lore, his writing into the story and his developments up until that point, and how he was meant to be portrayed with the voice actress's solid delivery. So it makes no sense how you heard his voice lines and somehow thought they didn't meet any of the criteria you provided other than you just being spiteful. But oh well, opinions over facts ig 🤷🏾‍♂️

very fair and valid points you've made here. I did go to town on him a little bit too hard. Voice lines aren't as easy to measure as something like how hard a boss hits you or how many openings they have or whatnot. It's about as subjective an opinion as they come. I just remember feeling very disappointed on my first playthrough and I haven't been able to get rid of that feeling

Sorry but i gotta give it to Godfrey. Badass monologues must run in his family because him and Morgott are by far the bosses with the most character and best writing. He has a sweet moment with his son and then places him down to talk to you, with a voice fitting of a true king. Not to mention the fact that Godfrey and his army were the origin of the tarnished, it is likely that we ourselves were part of his army as in the intro we also come back from outside the lands between. That is why he treats you with respect, you probably was one of his warriors. Serosh also roaring in specific moments to emphasize his emotions and delivery on the lines was great. Also if you were aware of how Serosh suppressed his bloodlust before the bossfight, seeing him give Serosh his thanks before slaying him is one of the best lore reveals in the game.

Messmer sounded great in the trailer and bored in-game. Still mad they used a different take. Maliketh is a bass. They are built different. XD

The craziest part about Messmer is that it’s his VA’s very first role in a video game. And he delivered what might possibly be the best performance I’ve ever heard in a FromSoft game, a studio that is known for having some of the best voice acting out there

Miquella being 13 and Rykard at 12? Really… I genuine feel you are letting your hate for Miquella as a boss impact your own judgement here. Miquellas voice fits his character perfectly, a calm, warm and kind sounding voice where he after finishing his plot becoming a god at last offers you to contemplate your action. You who has seen the sins of the world, the horrors and death are offered a better world, that you should surrender and let Miquella follow through his plan. It makes sense, is thematic and delivered exactly in character as you defy his act of selfish kindness. With Rykard his voice is the perfectly showing his deteriorated state, his struggle to speak after consuming so many and losing himself in the serpent. Like there are many gripes I have but these are the two big ones for me especially Miquella at lowest is to me just unthinkable.

I see what you're saying but at the end of the day it's almost impossible for a video like this to be objective since there is nothing to be measured. My hate for Miquella definitely impacted my judgement. I always liked the fight but I couldn't help feeling disappointed when I heard miquella speak and it's hard for me to see any other point of view. But I do appreciate your feedback and you make some good points about rykkard! could've definitely argued that he deserved a better spot

Also not going to lie, Messmer is good. But if you noticed they changed his voice delivery in the game, as in the trailer he sounded different, and in my opinion he just sounded way better. Like the "mother, woulds't thou truly lordship sanction in one so bereft of light" or "those stripped of the grace of gold shall all meet death, in the embrance of Messmers flame" had such an ominous, creepy delivery in the trailer

First of all, i enjoyed the video. But it feels weird how you set baselines for how you'll be juding the characters and just get them wrong or have like "yeah dude this doesn't sound badass" levels of judgement Mikella voicelices are a perfect fit for his character, his delivery is as neutral as it can be, he got rid of every human aspect he had, he's chalenging you to fight him and yet we can't get any will to fight or to cause harm. Rykard should invoke a grotesque feeling, after all he lost himself to glutony, if anything he lacks more SFX during his deliverys to sound more disgusting, the VA did a great job Godfrey sound like a generic anouncer for MMO RPG trailers and Hora Loux lacks the sevagery it should have Midra is a bad version of everything good about messmer. Maliketh is aweasome but you get him so wrong dude WTF? his voice is trying to hide an eternal remorse and guilt over godwins death, he doesn't sound badass, he sounds sad. Divine Beast is one of the best fights in the game and it feels so bad to talk about bosses without having a way to include him. But even if you'd consider the old lady delivery. Her announcement is way too weak compared to Ranni's message before Renalla 2nd phase

Wow I was learning his moves but then I see his attack are easy and I saw to really appreciate this boss. He was fun entertaining to fight which is something that most bosses don’t give like waterfall that move is annoying why Messers attacks the easy to dodge. I don’t know why people were struggling with him so much he’s really fun and entertainment.
